Niblick’s Downtown Bistro

This little café is what you want, lunch was a good food, good service, good atmosphere, and the apple tarts had just come out of the oven. How I managed to stay away from them I dont know, but if they were as good as everything else i have to come back.
The only down side was the salad’s dressing had slightly turned bad, something they found out for us just after delivery before anyone bit into it, so no harm and it was replaced quickly and was delicious. My sandwich and soup were spot on and the rest of the menu looked well worth trying.

Great bookstore! Mostly used but a good collection at good prices. Saleslady is very helpful and she has done a great job of organizing.

Very neat especially for Decatur, IN. Lunch special for 5.95. You can get two «half» sandwiches or wraps so you can try two different things out. (You can substitute half a sandwich for a salad). Even if you don’t get the special the prices are very reasonable. Food was pretty good. Very friendly people there. Give it a try! I will be returning very soon!

The restaurant is located in the front of a bookstore in the heart of downtown Decatur. This was a first time visit to Niblicks for me, but not for everyone else in our party. Upon entering we were directed toward the counter to look at the menu and place our order.
The food choices offered varied between various sandwiches, soups, and salads. The bistro offers a «you pick two» option for those wanting to try a combination of soup and salad or sandwich. I opted for the lamb gyro, which turned out to be a pretty good choice. Unfortunately, no sides were included with the gyro, but the price was appropriate for what I received. Others in our party chose an assortment of other sandwiches and soups which were all given praise for their taste and appearance. After a round of sandwiches, we enjoyed a nice piece of cherry pie with some ice cream.
Staff at the establishment was friendly and accommodating. Overall, I’d make a trip back to Niblicks. A trip there will provide you with a tasty meal without breaking the bank.

For this town, this food is outstanding and homemade that someday might be on Diners, Drive-​Ins and Dives. I had a pesto/​provolone/​turkey Panini that put the yum in yummy. I’ve had their hummus and veggies too. Be prepared for a lot of garlic, but oh… it tastes like back home. The owner walked around and gave us cranberry and white macadamia nut cookies. Perfect way to end the day.
The best part of this gem is that it is located in an old vintage building that is now a vintage book store. So you can browse books, sit in front of a fireplace, sit on stools watching the cars go by, or sit in a corner chatting over coffee and sandwiches. I wish they were open on Mondays but it’s my noon-​time to go place now.
