We just went there to get yogurt and we couldn’t get out of there soon enough! The floors were covered in grey dirt. There was rust and brown build up all over the machines. The yogurt I sampled was awful and was too tart and was almost liquid. The flavors were disgusting which didn’t help their cause. We went to look at the toppings and there were little flies all over all of the toppings and flying around. The counters were covered in filth. We did not get any yogurt out of shear disgust. The Health Department definitely needs to pay them a visit!

Well, they apparently just changed their hours and are closed at 9:30 pm. Or so says the paper sign on the door. Despite what their website and Unilocal say. So that sucks.

My friend and I stopped in here after eating down the street and needed something to conquer the sweet teeth that developed. Swirlin’ Twirlin’ did the trick. I had a mix of mango sorbet with pink lemonade, topped with chocolate and other sugary goodness: brownie bites, Reese’s cups, Sno Caps and fresh fruit. Hit the spot! But, this place wasn’t good enough for me to venture back. If I’m in the area and have a major froyo craving, and this location is convenient, then I’ll stop by.
However, I have to complain that the floor by the toppings was sticky. I don’t know if someone spilled and the staff didn’t clean it up properly, if at all, but it was gross. Part of the reason why we sat outside.

The store was immaculate.
The staff was incredibly friendly.
Small selection but excellent quality.
The best Grapefruit Sorbet I have ever tasted.
It isn’t inexpensive.
But I have yet to find a yogurt shop that is.

I have always liked this place… but this evening I was quite disappointed. First of all this place was filthy, from the counter of toppings (which also needed to be refilled) to the floor, which had food and yogurt stains throughout. Out of 6 tables inside only 2 were clean… which we sat at one and the other clean table was being used. The worst being the restroom… the toilet was filled with toilet paper, (we declined to use it), I had to tell the girls that work there that it was clogged and a complete mess. For a self serve establishment, there was absolutely NO priority on behalf of the employees to keep a clean and orderly look to the place. As of now I WILL NOT go back there. Should have stayed with my first choice… The Yogurt Tap. I will not make this mistake again.
And after the hateful and completely false accusations towards me by the owner via EMAIL… I will never step foot in this place again. I was basically called a liar after witnessing the completely filthy bathroom, which DID NOT have a sign on the bathroom door saying it was «OUT OF ORDER», if so we certainly wouldn’t have walked in to use it. Also the owner told me that they only have 1person usually on duty, so sometimes they get behind with their cleaning duties… well that’s all good and fine, except there were 2 people working that evening… yet another excuse by the owner.
It seems this place is closed down. Can’t say I’m at all surprised. What comes around goes around. Good riddance.

I like their topping selection and so appreciate the liberty of getting my own samples. I wasn’t impressed with their low sugar hazelnut or low sugar mango. It satisfied my sweet tooth nonetheless. I found their history of yogurt along with the other yogurt endorsements entertaining.

Good yoghurt. Bad music choices.

«Excuse much, rude or anything?»
That about sums up my feelings about my recent visit to Swirlin’ Twirlin’. The girl working there was not only unfriendly, but actually rude. It was 9:58 on a Friday night. A friend and I were inside noshing on our yogurts – selected from a bland choice of only about six flavors. Mid-​conversation, the girl from behind the counter interjects and tells us «Guys we’re closing.» Now, I’ve worked in the food industry and know when it’s closing time, you want people to just get the f– out. Totally get it. However, if you’re in the hospitality business, you kind of need to suck it up a bit. At least wait until after you’ve actually closed for a few minutes and politely give the cue for people to pack up. Start putting chairs up. That sort of thing. And if after 30 minutes past closing they’re still there, say something polite and direct. But this was just icky.
People come to these places for tart yogurt, not sour employees.

Sorbets lime and pink grapefruit… totally refreshing and flavorful. So happy there were non-​dairy options that were so delicious. Bumped this place up a star for that reason!
Other Yogurt flavors include sweetened milk, chocolate, passion fruit, strawberry, vanilla, mocha, smore, original tart. I tasted the mocha and passion fruit, which were very smooth and creamy. There’s an extensive selection of toppings to choose from, from the candy type options, to fresh fruit. I got a pretty giant cup with toppings for just over $ 4.
The décor is like an animé cartoon… bright orange, lime, with white plastic chairs. You move from front to back but then back up tothe front to the cashier… not great flow. There’s also a tv, which kept me occupied with a movie while enjoying my cold treat in the air conditioning, on a 100 degree day. Parking is street parking, so first come first serve.

My daughter and I decided to try this Swirlin Twirlin place and had a good experience. I like frozen yogurt and since I haven’t had it in a while, I thought this would be a good place to try. I mixed my frozen vanilla yogurt with my frozen chocolate yogurt. My daughter got the pink lemonade sorbet. We added a few toppings, weighed out cups, and walked out to enjoy the sunshine. I must say that it wasn’t the best yogurt, but it was good enough to kill my craving. I tried my daughter’s sorbet and thought it was pretty good. I would probably go back.

So, of the two (soon to be three) frozen yogurt places in downtown Decatur, I would probably say that this one if on a par, if not better than the Yogurt Tap for two reasons:
— more flavors of yogurt
— more (and better organized) toppings
It does not have the same community-​type feeling of the YT, and is a little further out of the way for the normal Decatur square traffic, but it does do what it is supposed to do — serve good yogurt, with lots of toppings for a fair price.
Indeed, I worked out that, TECHNICALLY, this is the cheapest way to buy fresh raspberries in the local area. At 39c /​oz, by my reckonings, you can buy a pound of fresh raspberries for a little over $ 6, which is a deal. I’m sure these type of shenanigans are frowned upon by management however.
I know what I like, and what I like is vanilla, so I eschewed the 11 other flavors on offer and went straight for the good old bean-​pod. The kids made some horrendous bubble-​gum, strawberry, melon, coconut, God-​knows-​what concoction, and it made them happy. I refused to try it on account of enjoying having taste-​buds, so I can only comment on the vanilla. It was good, creamy, not too sweet (although a little artificial-​tasting) and was not runny, as has been mentioned by some other Unilocalers.
Add to my yogurt a healthy pile of fresh raspberries (it’s a deal, remember), a scoop of white chocolate chips and a pile of snickers pieces, and I had a pretty darned good dessert for under $ 4.50.
Décor is bright, cheery and clean and service is fast and friendly. Overall, worth the walk from the square.

I feel like anyone hating on this place MUST be a loyal Yogurt Tap fan and is completely close-​minded to new experiences.
That being said, I’m a fan of slightly-​tart, fruity, yogurt-​tasting froyo, so I really like this place. It offers one of the best, most diverse topping bars of the froyo shops I’ve been to. The flavors change frequently enough, although I wish they’d keep Mango around all the time! I have acute/​selective lactose intolerance, if that’s even a thing, so I love that they offer non-​dairy options here, YAY! Swirlin’ Twirlin’ recently added a hot fudge and caramel machine, and I can assure you it is BLISS~
If the froyo is runny, that means it’s not ready. That’s why you’re supposed to sample it before you order it. I admit that the employees should probably label those so that people don’t get them right away, but I don’t think you can say the place has «bad» froyo just ’cause you don’t know the difference.
They don’t really have parking, but if you live in Decatur, which if you’re looking at this review, chances are, you already do, you’re used to parking elsewhere and strolling the downtown Decatur area anyway. I never have a problem walking here.

Words cannot express how thrilled I am to finally have an alternative fro-​yo option in downtown Decatur. I’ve never been a fan of Yogurt Tap, largely because of the limited options and the fact that the yogurt literally tastes like probiotic culture. If I wanted some post-​dinner bacteria in my face, I’d just go to Clermont Lounge. That being said, the perfectly creamy and sweet Fro-​Yo at Swirlin’ Twirlin’ is a welcomed alternative to the painfully tart options you’ll find elsewhere in the area.
Frozen Yogurt: Swirlin’ Twirlin’ offers a dozen different flavors at any given time, with a cache of novel favorites such as white chocolate and peanut butter cup. They also have the most extensive topping bar of any Fro-​Yo place I’ve been to; in addition to approximately 50+ candy options, they offer over a dozen fruits and nearly 10 different sauces. I was also impressed by the fact that they serve brand name candy, such as Kit Kat and Butterfinger; there’s nothing more irritating then biting into an imposter Reeses peanut butter cup! From a public health standpoint, it’s also reassuring to see that each of the toppings are separated in their own enclosed containers, thus averting the horrors of an open buffet line.
Service: Friendly and efficient. I was particularly pleased to see that the sample cups are located on the counter for easy customer access; one of my greatest pet peeves is standing at a «self-​serve» fro-​yo places while the staff dispenses the samples.
Atmosphere: Clean, lively, and welcoming. Contrary to most Fro-​Yo joints, the cups and cashier are located in the front, while the ingredients are located in the back. As such, the place can get congested quite easily. In addition to an interior high-​top counter with approximately four stools, there are also five interior and two exterior tables.
Cost: At 38 cents/​oz, Swirlin’ Twirlin’ is undoubtedly the least expensive Fro-​Yo place I’ve experienced in Atlanta. You can easily get a decent sized dessert with multiple toppings for less than $ 4.
Other: Similar to most businesses in this area, free parking is no easy feat. However, I typically have luck on either Ponce de Leon Place (no meters after 6PM) or the lot directly adjacent to the post office on Ponce. Also, there is currently a 50% off promotion for Swirlin’ Twirlin’ on ScoutMob ($ 5 max).

Does downtown Decatur really need another yogurt shop? Well, when you’re on the downhill side of Commerce, your answer is probably «Hell yes! Give me my yogurt without a half-​mile walk uphill!» It’s right by the newish Jimmy John’s, so if you crave a better dessert than the cookies that have the size and nearly the flavor of a plate, Swirlin’ Twirlin’ is a good choice.
Of their 12 flavors, my favorite by far was the fat-​free pink grapefruit sorbet, followed by mango. The prices are so reasonable that I didn’t quite meet the $ 3 minimum to pay with plastic; I offered to go grab a gummi worm to tip the scale but the froyo-​monger was kind enough to run my card for $ 2.94.

Ditto on the consistency. Some are nice and creamy while others are a bit runny & icy. Overall, the flavors are just ok. Salted caramel wasn’t very salty. But they have colorful mochi!
On the cheaper side too — 38c/​oz.

LOVED IT! I ordered the original flavor (YUM) and tried some of the hub’s Candy Cane (basically mint) and Green Apple (not bad). The décor is clean, modern and bright. The toppings bar has tons of fresh fruit, which I love. Downtown Decatur has been desperately needing an ice cream or yogurt place for some time now — we finally have one! Love.
Oh and the yogurt is only like $ 0.38/ounce — cheap! It was about $ 6 for both my husband and I to get good servings. Not bad!

Its hard to mess this up, its frozen yogurt and I thought all the flavors I had were great. The topping bar is massive, you can really hurt yourself here if you pile it on.
That being said I thought I had a pretty good amount of yogurt and it was still around 3 bucks.
I believe its .39 an oz so choose your heavy toppings wisely!
A great addition to downtown Decatur and Ill be back for sure.

Uh. No. Not a 4, not a 3, maybe has a chance at a 2 star, but DEFINITELY NOT 5 star-​worthy yogurt.
Wife and I were wondering what in the world this place was doing here in Decatur, given the proximity of Yogurt Tap (which we think is pretty darned good), so we figured we’d see whether this place could deliver the goods. We came before their «grand opening», however that works…
The textures of the yogurt flavors ranged from watery to icy… not much in between. I think we got mango and original– (I’m not so clear because my taste buds have suppressed the memory) — but we had just a few bites… and came to our verdict that it didn’t deserve our stomach space.
Maybe they’ll get better. It’ll take a whole lot of rave reviews from Unilocalers I trust to have us give them another chance. Eeesh.

Visited here for the grand opening today. It kind of reminds me of a Menchie’s mixed with Frutella, in terms of froyo flavors and toppings. Swirlin offers a variety of flavors some of which I’ve never heard of such as pink lemonade sorbet, green apple sorbet, anndddd salted caramel (gasp!) They have the usual flavors as well: original, chocolate, strawberry, etc. Also, what’s unique about this froyo shop is their topping bar. Like I said, it’s similar to Menchies because they have it in those containers you find at a candy store. Toppings range from vanilla wafers, skittles, twizzlers, white chocolate, m&m’s, kit kat, all sorts of fruit, cheesecake bites (!!!), and many more.
Things I liked:
— Right when we walked in, we were offered a knit hat w/​the swirlin logo and a froyo cup
— GREEN. everywhere!
— lots of staff on hand to clean, answer questions, and keep everyone in check
— coupon for a BOGO froyo
— Location is perfect. Right in walking district to great little shops and Farm Burger.
Way to go guys! I’m impressed
