Man. I had such high hopes, but was left with lowered expectations. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas. It came with cabbage. Now, I’m no expert on Jamaican food… but I’ve had it a few hundred times and this was almost the worst I’ve ever tasted. The chicken had a barbecue flavor, not jerk! Then I asked for the jerk sauce on the rice and peas. It was so bland; no kick, no spice, just there! The cabbage was not fully cooked or done. Maybe I came too early. Then again, I think I did come too early. The lady told me she hadn’t made the plantains, yet. That’s a must have for me when eating spicy jerk. But since the spice was missing, the plantains were moot. All in all, I was thoroughly annoyed that I spent cash here. The only reason I’ll give 3 stars is because of the serving size. They were not skimping on any of the servings. People asked for a little more, they would scoop a little more without attitude or trying to charge more. One thing to be cognizant of: they wipe the counters with an old, dirty-looking, dishcloth. Dishcloths are a breeding ground for bacteria. So don’t lean on or touch the counters. Try at your own risk.

I’ve been to this place many times, probably one of my favorite spots on the eastside. The food is always delicious and will definitely satisfy any type of craving you have, whether small large. My personal recommendation is the Stew chicken, rice and peas, and vegetables.

This is definitely a hole in the wall joint so expect to grab your food and go. The curry chicken was completely blah but the jerk was top notch authentic in both style and flavor. Will definitely hit up again in the future to try their other dishes. I was also pleased that the food is laid out in steam tables so you know you’re going to be in and out in a hurry opposed to some of the other West Indian restaurants where you place your order then have to wait and pray then pray and wait.

This small establishment had some terrific food. The curry chicken was pretty good and the employees that I interacted with were very pleasant. If I’m ever on this side of town again, I would definitely stop in.

This little hole in the wall has great food, most definitely one of the better food options in the area.

My heart is sad. We visited TR a few months ago and was told the older gentleman/owner passed away. We were really sad to hear this as their jerk chicken here was wonderful. Needless to say. he didn’t pass on his recipes because the food was awful. We gave them 2 additional chances and it’s just not there. I hope they can get it together soon or they will find themselves well um… looking for new careers.

Being half Jamaican, it’s hard to find authentic Jamican food, but I think I finally found it! Best Jamaican food in Atlanta so far! The jerk chicken is slow roasted on a real grill! While other places just bake it. There’s even real Jamaicans in the kitchen. I love their secret sauce for the jerk chicken. And get is with hard-dough bread! Yum! Oxtail was so savory too!
