The inside of the venue is nice. It sits next door to Chit Chat club/lounge and I think the ownership between the two are associated.(across the street from S. Dekalb mall) If you are afraid of the«ghetto» or areas of the city labeled as «bad» you would not want to visit Vixn. I am from Atl, so I can go anywhere comfortably. Members of the staff are unprofessional and offensive. I visited on 5⁄2012 for Mad Expressions Dance Showcase. There were lots of people there to perform and in the audience. I was assisting a performer as her guest. Security checked my bags and took a bag of almonds I had in my hand to keep my blood sugar from falling. He did not take them as contraband, he took them to eat for himself. This was not a joke. At first I laughed b/c I did not think the guard was serious but he was. He seemed to enjoy taking my almonds and encouraging his friends that he would enjoy eating them. I asked the security person his name but later forgot when I left the venue after my client performed. He had a friend near him who he passed the bag to and he began to eat the nuts. I felt very disrespected but I was not attending the venue for personal reasons, I was there to support my client and did not want to cause a scene. Under other circumstance, I would have reacted much differently. A waitress employee intentionally disrespected a member of my party and later attempted to give a very fake and insincere apology. I will not return to this venue but I think others will enjoy the atmosphere as it seemed to be laid back and fun filled with the dance crews and maybe on other nights too.
