Specialties

Doctors Express treats everything from cuts and bruises to fractures and colds and everything in between. We have on-site lab tests, digital x-rays and prescriptions with no appointments needed. We’re a state-of-the-art urgent care center with professional medical staff on-site every day.

We also offer a full range of services including Workers Compensation management, DOT Physicals and Drug Screens, and travel vaccinations and consults.

Our centers are open every day with extended hours, 8 to 8 Monday through Friday and 8 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday. No appointments are needed and we accept most insurance plans.

History

Established in 2013.

Our Dedham center was opened in September of 2013. This is our 9^th center in Massachusettes that we have opened. We have centers in Springfield, West Springfield, Braintree, Natick, Waltham, Watertown, North Andover, Saugus and now Dedham! We expect to open in Malden and Bulington in Q1 2014.

Business Owner

Tomas F. Lichauco MD, MPH is board certified in Family Medicine and in Occupational Medicine. He grew up and was educated in the Philippines and the USA. Medical training and experience has included Manila, Boston, New York City, New Jersey as well as the US Air Force Clinic in Germany. He has practiced outpatient primary care family medicine in Dedham for 16 years. Over the last year has been involved with in urgent care and occupational medicine in the greater Boston area. Doctors Express will be an ideal place to use broad knowledge and experience to meet a wide variety of medical needs every day.

I I had a horrible soar throat and was in tons of pain and within minutes Dr. Tomas was able to properly evaluate the situation, get to the root of the cause, give me the correct diagnosis and most importantly give me the correct solution.

I am SO incredibly thankful for the staff at Doctors Express Urgent Care in Dedham. When I arrived this morning with an increasingly angry ingrown toenail, I could barely walk because of the pain. I was doubtful there was much they could do, but my podiatrist appointment was almost 2 weeks away and I didn’t know what else to do. As a nurse, I’m on my feet 8 – 12 hours per shift. And I had 5 shifts between today and my podiatrist appointment. So when Dr. Schoen said she could remove my ingrown toenail, I was SO relieved. She did so with great expertise and I was on my way in no time! I’m feeling so much better already!

This place was great! I was greeted by very friendly staff and only waited in the waiting room for just a few minutes. After I was brought to the exam room I was seen by the medical assistant immediately and the doctor just a few minutes after. Everyone was extremely helpful and professional. This was perfect for an emergency situation. I was in and out under an hour. I would definitely return to this urgent care again.

I really want to give them 5 stars. Nice, clean, professional, comparable prices for the non-insured, support staff was highly courteous and professional. My complaint to the administrator was rapidly and efficiently handled. A++
Physician was completely rude, inappropriate and unprofessional. He behaved like Dr House, insane to the point of what I can only assume is a poorly managed psychiatric disorder and clearly no genius.

Really good for an emergency. I was misdiagnosed as negative for strep at another walk-in clinic and decided to give this place a shot because I was in a lot of pain. It was quick and easy and I got diagnosed and prescribed antibiotics which worked like a charm. They’re also nice and offer snacks. Definitely worth coming to if you can’t see your general practitioner soon enough.

Couldn’t be more unhelpful. Dr. S interrupted me first mid-sentence because I wasn’t succinct enough for her (no one else in waiting room on Sunday morning). Before even examining me she had a long litany of things she couldn’t do or look at. She didn’t listen when I answered her questions; seemed on auto-pilot. I had very worrysome swelling around the throat, on day 4 after dental procedure, which was increasing; hence the Sunday visit to this place. My dentist had no 24 hr. emergency number, which she insisted they had. Her job description seemed to be only to assess if you needed to go an actual emergency room.

I’m so glad this place exists! I was so sick yesterday (Saturday of a long weekend). I was in and out in less than hour — no appointment needed — and have been started on antibiotics! I will follow up with my primary care but this place was great.
The front desk staff was friendly, the facility clean and quite impressive, the doctor was thorough and had a great bedside manner.

This place is pretty incredible. I rushed right before their closing (7:57pm to be exact) and was totally mentally prepared for them to turn me away. The kind lady at the front desk didn’t even give a hint «don’t you know we close at 8pm» and instead asked me how she could help. Before I even finished filling out my paperwork I was in the back having my vitals taken. And a minute or so later MD Shoen was in front of me. She was thorough but to the point, no fluff conversation. She asked me my symptoms, suggested it might be flu and I told her I would bet my nursing degree is was strep, she wasn’t at all insulted. After a quick and thorough assessment, she ran a rapid strep test and it came back positive in 7 mins (it rarely ever comes back positive). She e-prescribed antibiotics and I was out by 8:15pm. You might think that is too rapid of a turn around but I have no PMH, no current meds, and I was a straight forward case with a clear diagnosis. My experience at this place was great and I will 100% come back for urgent care needs.

Exactly what I needed. My insurance covers urgent care for only $ 10/visit and I couldn’t get an appointment with my primary care doctor. I had a bad flu/cold/who knows what for a week. Came to Doctors Express, waited for only about five minutes, then was seen. Everyone was friendly. Dr. Schoen was clear and explained everything. They were even able to take and read X-rays in a few minutes to make sure it wasn’t something more serious.
Walked out in under an hour with a needed prescription and some good advice.
