Just transferred to this location about 3 weeks ago with the intention of going to the gym after I get out of work at 9. Have been doing 9:15−11 for over a year at the other facility and was happy this location stayed open until 11 as well. It turns out that out of nowhere they changed there hours of operation to close at 10 without even notifying their clients… you get emails every week from nysc and I guess changing facility hours does not deem an email, which is insane. Paid $ 50 for a transfer fee and 3 weeks later they pull this stunt and then tell me I would have to pay another transfer fee if I wanted to go to a different location… what??? How is it the clients fault the company is not making enough money to leave the facility open for an extra hour??? I know gyms always do sheisty stuff but I thought nysc was different… I was proven wrong.

Bathrooms have been fixed — still smell like feet — but one of the showers in the ladies locker room has a decent shower head and wasn’t covered in hair today, so I’m with it. The equipment is solid — the best time to go here is either early in the morning or early afternoon before the high school and local meatheads come out in full force. For the most part, people stay out of your way but there are a couple of groups that can be in the way. A lot of cardio equipment, if you’re into that. Could use another rack for squatting and deadlifting, but everything is in good shape and pretty new. It ALWAYS smells like donuts in the staircase, which is good because thats a better odor than feet — but it makes me want a donut every time I leave the gym so…

I don’t think a gym should hype about their $ 19.99 monthly special when they can’t even give their customer a towel.

I had a problem with a membership that I tried to get straightened out for two weeks to no avail. He handled it professionally and in a fair way.

They don’t tell you on the ads that there’s a huge annual fee in addition to the monthly pricing. They told me free towel service; once I joined they literally refused to give me a towel unless I paid extra. I joined for the Classes which are always crowded, and you can’t sign up online for them unless you’re a premium member. So I am unable to take any classes at all. The Kids who work at the front desk never smile. It’s a clean gym and equipment is always available– but would be nice if the staff were a little older, friendlier, and more available.

Had a family Christmas party at NYSC in Deer Park. Danielle set up everything for us and three staff helped with the party, actually four towards the end. Used the gym for organized sport activities and then the pool. Amazing facility, perfect schedule of timing and events, Had a group of 20 people and we had a blast! Thanks so much!

From the evening classes, the instructors are excellent. They challenge you and it is never the same routine. Though the receptionist on Wednesdays is very cold, the other greeters are open and smiling.
