WOW! Talk about up selling! I had a tiny, cramped bathroom in the basement and I asked for: 2 New light fixtures, some of the water stained ceiling tiles to be replaced, a vanity and medicine cabinet replaced, and new tile on the walls of a third of the bathroom. Also, I asked for an inexpensive accordion door, since the bathroom is so small when you open the door, you can’t move around. I told Mike specifically that this was a «band aid» project, and I didn’t want to spend the money to do a complete overhaul. He rewired the WHOLEBATHROOM for low voltage, which I didn’t ask for. He then showed me these little blue lights that didn’t light up the room. I told him I never asked for the room to be rewired, and to just buy 2 regular $ 15 simple light fixtures. He charged me $ 2,000 for the lighting. I asked for an inexpensive accordion door-he suggested a sliding door outside the bathroom. I assumed(incorrectly) that this would be in the ballpark of a cheap accordion door. He billed me for $ 1,200. He and his crew were working on our wine cellar at the same time(also over budget) and came consistently for the first couple of weeks… then they would not show up for a few days… or come at noon and stay until 4. Did they do quality work? Yes. Was I overcharged? Absolutely.
