Regarding John Laver, owner of Eucalyptus Stoneware: I’ve been transacting business with him for about ten years. And it has been my pleasure. He is the kind of businessman you want to be around: Honest, absolutely straightforward. He delivers on his word and always does exactly what he says he will do. I’ve also found him absolutely reasonable and polite. His business ethics are beyond reproach. The quality of his products is so much better than any«knockoffs» you can easily find in schlock shops a little cheaper. He does the best stuff. I look forward to more years of dealing with John. It has been my pleasure. Chet A Encinitas

This is a terrific little gem in Del Mar! I went there this weekend and loved the selection of styles and colors. Everything was beautiful even if they were«seconds.» Call before heading over since the office doesn’t have«retail» hours and payment is check or cash only.

They sell the ceramic baskets at Williams Sonoma for about three times what you can get them at the factory. The factory, if you can call it t hat, is located in a small industrial park right across from the back of Del Mar Race Track. They sell their seconds, which usually are almost perfect, for about $ 18. At Christmas they have additional sales. You get whatever they have since it’s their rejects but these make wonderful presents, especially if you fill them with things like mixes and candies, etc. Check out their web site at and you can view their wares.
