18 West is a large multifaceted facility that includes full service bar, restaurant, and banquet facility. Located near Interstate 94 on HWY 18, we are central to Waukesha, Milwaukee, Madison and the surrounding lake country communities.

The bar is among the largest in the lake country area and is a perfect place to have cocktails, watch the games, or shoot darts and pool. There is plenty of TV’s and bar room seating, plus happy hour food and drink specials run everyday so bring your party or reserve a spot. Group appetizers are available so pre-order food for your group and let our friendly staff take care of the details.

18 West offers quality yet affordable dining in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu contains selection of appetizers, steaks, seafood, salads, burgers, sandwiches and our award winning fish fry. The dessert list includes Lynn’ Wisconsin cheesecake, which was recently featured on TMJ 4. Nightly specials run seven days a week. Two dining rooms allow large parties and events of up to 130 people to have semi private space and custom pre-ordered appetizers and dinners.

18 West also has one of the largest private Wedding and Banquet facilities in the area with two full service bars, dance floor, and dinner/catering services. The facility is perfect for weddings, private parties and corporate events of up to 350 people. Before you book anywhere else call to schedule a tour…

History

Established in 2011.

18 West, originally established in 1985 as TL Thumpers Nightclub & Dining, was rebranded in 1992 to Saxes Casual Fine Dining & recently in 2013, 18 West. TL Thumpers’ laser light show & music videos made it one of the hottest nightclub spots in the lake country area. 7 years later long time owners & operators decided they wanted a change, a 10,000 sq.ft., 350 person capacity, banquet hall was added and the name changed to Saxes. 20 years later, in 2013, Saxes was remodeled & rebranded to 18 West. With new menus, management, & many updates, 18 West has launched a series of events to gather the communities feedback & establish their brand. Although staple items such as steaks, ribs, burgers, & «fm106’s best Waukesha co. friday fish fry» remain, new items are phased in to provide variety. Sand volleyball courts next to the state glacier drumlin trail are still a favorite, and the now updated large bar area & 10 flatscreens make it a great place to watch the game or plan your next party.

Meet the Manager

Joshua S.

Manager

Joshua grew up in East Troy Wisconsin. His parents owned and operated a bar in the Milwaukee area and bar restaurant just on the edge of Wales and Delafield. Growing up he has done almost all there is to do in the industry including dish washing, bussing, waiting, and cooking.

After graduating high school he ventured west to attend college at Northern Arizona University. During his college years Joshua was a rock climber, mountain biker, and spent his summers commercial fishing in Alaska. He graduated with a psychology degree and after a final season in Alaska he made his way to San Diego to pursue a career in teaching.

Joshua completed his masters degree in Special Education and taught high school for 13 years. He spent summers traveling abroad exploring and surfing. In July 2013 he returned to his Wisconsin roots to become involved in the family business. He is up for a challenge, bringing a great deal of energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to the business.
