Delavan Ace Hardware is a full-​service hardware store… Plus! We have a paint store within a store featuring Ace, Benjamin Moore, Cabot, Zinnser and other top name paints. Our paints start at less than $ 10 a gallon.

We also have a large outdoor power equipment center — featuring Toro, Lawnboy and Stihl power equipment. We service what we sell at our in-​house service department.

Other services include screen and window repair, propane exchange and local delivery (nominal charge). We also rent a variety of equipment — including Rug Doctor carpet cleaning machines, concrete saws, lawn aerators and dethatchers, cement mixers, tile saws, pressure washers — plus a lot more.

History

Established in 1975.

Delavan Ace Hardware opened in December 1975. The store has always been known for having a very extensive selection of products along with knowledgeable, friendly customer service and very competitive prices.

The store is locally owned and we are involved in our community — as proud members of the local Rotary Club and the Delavan-​Darien Chamber of Commerce. We are also members of the Midwest Hardware Association.

We support our schools, churches and charitable organizations throughout the year via cash, merchandise and other donations.

Business Owner

Graduated from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL with Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees. Worked as a Project Accountant for AmeriFirst Development Corporation in Miami after graduation and subsequently for Wickes Companies at their corporate offices in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Have been the owner of Delavan Ace for the past 18 years.

We have a great team at Ace — including Dean Brandner (store manager), supervisors Hank Venema, Jerry Square and Deb Square, paint manager Ed Pszczola and, some very knowledgeable and friendly sales folks — including Darrell Hessenthaler, Gene Ray, Yul Johnson and Jacob Brink.
