Avalon Gallery

The sign out front summarizes what’s inside quite well: Glass, Jewelry, Ceramics, Judaica, Metal, Painting.
Avalon Gallery was a gorgeous place to wander through and enjoy all the beautiful hand blown glass sculptures and other artwork.
I especially appreciated all the jewish art and crafts. They had GORGEOUS menorahs, mezuzot, dreidels, etc.
I appreciate bold colors and dramatic lighting, Avalon Gallery has both in spades.

Glass, glass, and more glass! This store is full of beautiful pieces of glass to decorate your home: glass bowls, glass teapots, glass seashells, etc. My dad claims this is one of his favorite stores and I have to agree that they have some beautiful pieces of artwork (glass artwork that is). I live in a 1 bedroom apartment so there’s only so much artwork (let alone glass artwork), but I would come back here if I was looking for some pieces to decorate. However, we may have a problem transporting the glass to Chicago… probably not going to make it.
Their mezzuzahs caught my eye over anything else… they were just as beautiful as the ones I saw in Israel this Summer and $ 55, which is very reasonable for a gorgeous mezzuzah. I didn’t buy one since I bought one in Israel that I have yet to hang 6 months later, but I would consider going back here to purchase them as gifts. And it’s probably the one thing in the store I could manage to get to Chicago without breaking it.
