History
Established in 1929.
Originally located on Atlantic Avenue, the Barber Shop opened their doors in 1929 and offered traditional men’s haircuts and straight razor shaves. Named «Buster’s» after the late owner, Waldo «Buster» Musgrave, it remained open on the Atlantic Avenue for 46 years prior to relocating to Federal Highway. Buster’s legacy lives on in Delray Beach. More than just a barber, he earned the title “Mr. History“ for helping create and lead the Delray Beach Historical Society.
Ken Lang and James «Buddy» Gleason next became the new owners of the Barber Shop. They kept everything exactly the same — including the high quality haircuts, excellent customer service, and doing things the «old-fashioned» way. The Barber Shop then was known as «Ken’s» from 1951 – 2014.
In 2014 Darbe Gionfriddo became the new owner of the Barber Shop. The new owner simply added his name on the door and it became «Darbe’s». He looks forward to keeping tradition alive! Stop by and become part of the Barber Shop family.
