I wouldn’t even give this place one star but I was forced. Took my family here and the service AND food were absolutely terrible… not to mention overpriced. The place smelled like mildew and both the lobby and bathroom looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in months. No idea how this place stays in business for being in such a small town.

The service is always great and the food delicious! I highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms for n appetizer, the crab cakes, ribeye, and grilled shrimp for an entrée and the bread pudding for desert!
You will not be disappointed!
Now you will be disappointed!!! I’m told new management is the problem but seems to me it is poor food quality, inability to provide what is on the menu, and a lot of excuses for it all!!! While our server was very nice and tried to be accommodating, the best service in the world can’t overcome bad food!!! And if the manager is on site why haven’t we received a visit and apology from him/​her??? Just bad over all. And the male waiter actually told a customer to come see him at the Mexican restaurant down the road! Unbelievable how down hill this place has gone!

Is it New Orleans cuisine? Certainly not… However, it is a good value in a small town. The gumbo has no okra and is essentially rice and gravy with mushrooms. All in all, it’s average at best but tries really hard.

Yes, this is the same New Orleans bar & grill that was on the river here in Demopolis. They relocated to Highway 80 here about May of 2015.
And yes, there is another New Orleans Steak & Seafood House in Tuscaloosa. (Technically it is on McFarland Blvd in Northport.)
For supper tonight I had one of the specialty grilled Catfish Po-​Boy sandwiches. It was probably the best catfish sandwich I’ve ever had! I give it a five!
When I walked in, the place did look kind of divey, with booth cushions cracking and some crumbs on the floor. However, the friendly young waitresses were heart warming.
So, I’d stop here again for the food and the service. With comfortable although well-​worn furniture.
