History

Established in 2003.

Each and every day we are inspired by different things, it could be family, friends, art, imagination, beauty, or as simple as making someone laugh or smile.

Turtle Island Designs was formed in 2003 from a simple request. It was outlet for me to create artwork and designs in my spare time. The named was inspired by what the Native Americans called mother earth. The turtle symbol signifies good health and long life. The hard shell of the turtle represents perseverance and protection.

I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be an artist and was what I desired to do. While in High School working for DKB Concepts that printed tee shirts for high schools all over the country. I learned how to design and print first hand (not pun intended). On weekends I would airbrush at the local mall and also worked as a caricature artist at Opryland USA Park in Nashville, TN.

In 2002 I was approached by printers who produced artwork for NASCAR (specifically for Roush Racing) to see if I would be interested in designing a logo for Carl Edwards (Driver for Roush Racing). In the process and from my early design success it lead to designs for all of their driver’s including Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch and Mark Martin to name a few. Doing this work got the attention of other printers doing work for Sturgis, Rick Fairless’s Strokers Dallas, Harley Davidson and many others.

Just pay one fee and that’s it! Yes! It really is that easy. Just one guy doing what he loves :-)
