We now feature a $ 5.00 lunch menu from 11am until 4pm daily. Happy Hour is from 2pm until 8pm everyday with discounts on all domestic beers and well liquor. If that isn’t good enough, we are continuing our famous $ 3 you call it special which includes everything in house. Not like other places that limit your selection, we offer every single liquor for $ 3 bucks or less, every beer including imports for $ 3 bucks or less and of course all wine just $ 3 bucks all day all the time. You can’t beat that anywhere in the Dallas Metroplex. 2Charlies is the ultimate sports viewing venue in Denton with over 14 large flat panel TV’s, two full bars, a non smoking enclosed patio as well as our new 2nd story open air patio. 2Charlies offers games like foosball, Golden Tee, pool table, free darts and other video games and bar top machines.

History

Established in 2007.

2 Charlies Bar and Grill is owned and operated by local owners Charles Nolet and Charles Gloor who also own and operate one of Denton’s oldest watering holes, The Loophole Courthouse Pub. Both locations are consistently in the top ten watering holes in all of Denton County and are continuing to become more and more popular every day. Now 2Charlies, 809 Sunset Street, Denton has been many popular attractions such as Sunset bar and before then the famous Cozy Oaks. After Sunset closed its doors in 2007 both Charlie’s came in and completely remodeled the venue creating a stunning location with two full bars, one upstairs and one down. Totally gutted the kitchen and created an amazing lunch and dinner menu. Shortly after opening in December 2007 they expanded by building a second story patio and enclosing the downstairs patio which now is a smoke free zone. 2Charlies is becoming one of Denton’s hotspots and is the place to be seen!

I’ve been coming here for years. I love this place. Philly cheesesteak sandwich is awesome, and I’m picky about phillys! Also, get broccoli bites! We ordered nachos and veggie pizza this time, everything is delicious!!! Great drink specials!

When I travel, the first thing I seek out is the local dive bar scene. This place is conveniently located and has reasonably priced stiff drinks. I say it is a win.
The upstairs bar and the patio are very pleasant touches as well and make for great ambience.

You won’t find a more comfortable bar in town. Well lit, clean, and quiet. The food here is great, I highly recommend the pizza or burgers. Prices are great and there is a covered upstairs patio. All of the staff is very personable and knowledgeable.

Came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon since moving to Denton. Definitely a chill place if you’re looking to unwind after a busy day or just throw back a few beers. They have drink specials every day, plus trivia on Thursday nights & Bingo on Tuesday nights. Don’t expect a bubbly waitress ready to smile & chat. Service is quick & to the point, but we never had an empty drink while we were there, so we remained happy. Plus, the drinks were pretty well priced. $ 3 for most beer on Saturday.
We ordered chips & salsa, the buffalo chicken pizza and a few different local & craft beers. The chips & salsa look like your typical pub app, but the salsa was actually quite tasteful & spicy. The buffalo pizza was unique as it had mini boneless buffalo bites & bleu cheese on a (what seemed like) homemade thin crust.
They also have an upstairs with another bar & the downstairs area looks like it fills quickly at night. Overall it’s a nice, low key lunch option. And definitely a place to check out on the weeknights!

Are you older, leathered, weathered, and wondering where in the hell all these kids in town came from these past 10 years? Do you like smelling like an ashtray and eating mostly edible food that will leave you mostly satisfied but mostly just wanting more fries? Do you want to pay a lot of money for any drinks that aren’t on special? Well, come on down to Two Chucks!
Meh. I rip on this place pretty hard, but it’s alright. Cheap Shiner sometimes. The fries are good, but 12 fries does not a side make. So why do I still go here? Because it’s a great place to hide. Nobody you know goes here on a regular basis, unless they also want to hide.
I would say it’s a good place to watch a game, but sometimes the TV’s are on the fritz and once there was a minor gay-​bashing incident directed at my wife and a friend during a Cowboys game, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the bar or the bartenders and everything to do with this shitty group of patrons. Just, you know, be aware of who you’re sitting next to. It gets kind of tight in there.
Long story short, go if you must or you’re within walking distance. Get the grilled cheese or the Crazy 8. Don’t sit at the bar if it’s after happy hour. If it’s open mic, turn around and leave.

I enjoyed this place a lot. I went because I had a gift certificate and I’m so glad I did! I will be coming back no doubt. The food was great and they had pretty decent happy hour drink specials. Not to mention the music was kickass! Not many places nowadays play punk or music related to the punk genre! None of that kiss fm radio trash. Loved this place and will be back!

Prices on drinks are ok but it seems to take a while to get service, even on a slower night. That could mean that regulars are treated very well but I would prefer faster service for everyone. The food is great, although you do not get much for what you pay. The greatest draw for me is the outdoor patio upstairs that is more private and relaxed. Not my first choice for a night out, but definitely not my last.

If you’re looking for sluts with fruity drinks and dude brahs, go to Tavern, The Garage, or RT’s.
If you’re looking for a place where grown ups go to have some beers and play darts, come here. It can get a bit hillbilly/​trashy at times because the VFW overspill comes here, but it’s still pretty alright.
The staff is great, Rob the cook is awesome, the food is great for bar food, and they have a relatively knowledgeable bar staff.
This is the only place in town that makes a decent filthy martini, and doesn’t complain if you order a bloody mary at two a.m.
One bartender there is a huge bitch, but the great thing about Two Chucks is that you can just go to the other bar (upstairs because she is always downstairs because she is a grumpy cunt) if she’s working!

Not a fan, the handful of times I’ve been here have been pretty dissapointing.
Between not getting champaigne in our champaigne flutes on new years, to burnt nachos, to slow service, to having our jukebox songs skipped, to just plain having a bad time.

In 1 night at II Charlies, I was hit on hardcore by a redhead, a cute curly-​haired girl showed me a fresh tattoo on her twat, I made best friends with a drag queen, I smoked a Chinese cigarette, I danced with a hot chick covered in tattoos and I learned how amazing Denton and its folks can be.
Oh, and all my drinks were free.

Easily one of the best bar hangouts in Denton. II Charlies has great food, great drinks, daily food and drink specials and super friendly service. There isn’t much more you could ask for in a place. They definitely have the friendliest bartenders in Denton. There are multiple hangouts within II Charlies. There is the downstairs bar area (my spot), the downstairs enclosed patio area, the upstairs bar, and the upstairs outdoor patio. All have their own unique vibe and everyone seems to have their own preference. Bar food-​4 stars, drinks-​5 stars, Bar Ambiance-​5 stars, Service 5 stars.

I like II Charlies in the same way that I like chicken tenders. Its okay. Not great but not anything I’d probably turn down. This bar is located out of the general college bar area, right next to a Papa Johns, across the street from Kroger.
I have been to this bar a few times now. The downstairs area is usually full of adults eating snacks and hanging out in a more well-​lit area. I think its non-​smoking down there. I normally go upstairs to hang with the smoking, college-​kids. And I mean smoking like cigarettes, not like hotness. There might be smoking hotness there but I’m usually more focused on the 3 dollar you-​call-​its.
This bar is owned by the same people that own The Loophole. It is also the same kind of crappy bar food. If you are going to eat here, just recognize that you are about to eat some defrosted stuff. I know after I’ve been drinking for a while, I don’t particularly care about the freshness or free-​rangeness of a food product.
I have had one horrible server here and two good ones. I think the terrible server was just a one off.
I like this bar. If you live in Denton, then you can ride your bike through the neighborhood behind the bar to get there. Since I’m not the best bike-​rider, I like this. I’d recommend this bar if you want to get away from the usual bar square area.

Currently II Chucks is the place I like to go where no one knows my ass. After living in Denton for a decade it can sometimes suck when you’re at a bar and know half the people there and wish you didn’t. This is why I like II Charlies. They’re food is surprisingly good for bar food, with my personal favorite being the black bean nachos. Not only is the food good, it’s priced well for what you get.
I like the atmospher, it’s not hip, it’s not a total doucher bar, it’s just a bar that isn’t trying to prove itself with bullshit themed nights and disco lights. The wait staff has always been friendly and attentive and I’ve never had a service issue.
Did I mention it’s also cheap to drink there?

My husband and I just moved down the street from this place. We were drawn to it by the nice second story porch. This is such a great watering hole, especially on that porch during sunset!
The menu prices are very affordable! A pound of boneless buffalo for $ 8.99? I think I’ve found my weakness. The cheese fries are also pretty much the best thing ever (especially if you have had a few drinks).
Speaking of which, the drink specials here are also wonderful. I am so glad that there is a place other than the Greenhouse that has mimosas on the weekends! And Charlies’ are only $ 3 on Sundays. Those Sunday afternoon $ 3 bloody maries will knock you off your feet, too, so watch out!
