Ruth’s Room-Habitat For Humanity

I’ve been here three times in four days to leave donations and I’m very impressed with this place. The manager is very quick to check over and approve your stuff so you can take it to the side gate to leave it. There’s a lot of furniture. Couches, chairs, coffee tables — all of it in good shape. There were also several dining room sets and hutches probable circa 1960 — 1970 that were darling. There’s a decent clothes section. Every thrift store turns over inventory quickly so it’s hard to judge the clothes and accessories. On my visits there were about ten really nice purses. It’s a sister store to Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which sells surplus building materials, and it’s also across the street from the Habitat for Humanity used book store. I recommend it both for donations and shopping. Good place!

Overpriced beyond belief. Broken toys are priced $ 1 – 5. Toys that work are prices $ 10 – 20. I don’t understand thrift stores that have prices comparable to that of a store like Target or Wal-​Mart. Dish sets are priced over $ 100 for sets that aren’t even close to being complete.

I really, really like Ruth’s Room. Their clothing section is crap, but they’ve got such a wide range of things in that little place! The workers are really helpful, too. I found an old caboodles makeup case for $ 1.50 and they usually sell for $ 10 or more online. Sometimes their pricing is a little wonky, like $ 4 for a dirty candle warmer that you can buy brand new at Hobby Lobby for $ 5 and stuff like that. It’s always worth a look through though; I really enjoy going there. It’s kind of addicting for some reason, haha.

You can find the best stuff here! Clothes wise not so much at least for women. I have found some great vintage shoes. If you are looking for vintage/​resale furniture this is definitely a place you need to go too. But I am telling you they have the best unusual/​hard to find/​would never find anywhere else Stuff!
