Timberlinks Apartments

I transferred into a ²⁄₂ from the smallest, motel like one bedroom in June. Timberlinks changed ownership and management at that time.
The model I was shown had replaced the disgusting plexiglass shower doors with a nice curtain rod. I moved into the ²⁄₂ apartment to discover the renovation was incomplete. They hadn’t even bothered replacing the old time manual thermostat.
I have requested numerous times to get the shower doors removed. They came to remove the doors but didn’t have a rod to replace them with. I to this day in October 2015 still do not have curtain rods after numerous requests since June 2015.
I paid in the office my second month’s rent with a check. Four days later I received an eviction notice. They had applied my rent payment to the wrong account. I had to show them the cleared check from my bank.
They blow my maintenance requests off. It took them 48 hours to replace my AC when it went out in August during 100 degree temperatures.
For weeks it was impossible to reach staff without physically going into the office because their phones were out.
We have no choice in cable or internet providers. The Internet is extremely slow. I have two TV’s and instead of paying all on one bill I have to pay the apartments for one direct tv box and direct TV for the other box. That’s stupid!!! Doesn’t make any sense! It’s two different accounts.
Very poor management. They are running current residents out in order to get new residents at higher rates.

The Good: great value on a nice apartment. Great open floor plan makes apartment feel bigger than it actually is, vaulted ceilings on top floor add a nice touch. Neighborhood feels pretty safe and haven’t ever felt like my families safety was in danger.
The bad: This was a great place to live up until the management team changed. Since then it has been a mess. Undisclosed fees, delinquent notices with no explanations. It is extremely difficult to get a hold of anyone on the phone at main office, forcing you to have to go in to talk to anyone. Maintenance requests take several days to get resolved. Additionally (not necessarily tied to new management) the internet is pretty slow here and the cable is awful (drops signal frequently) but part of the contract (at least last year when we moved in) you have to pay for directv whether you use them or not.
If management would get their act together I would gladly reassess this review for higher stars but as it stands 2 stars is a gift.

I really do hate writing bad reviews, but this place was very frustrating to deal with. The grounds are beautiful and the golf course is nice, but the management is terrible. No communication or accountability and a million unexplained fees and charges.

The default «Meh, I’ve experienced better» is the perfect description. I haven’t lived in an apartment in 11 years however, I think these were built 20 years before that. Meh is all I can say about the apartments themselves. Depending which way the wind is blowing, if you can handle the smell of the adjacent landfill, they aren’t too bad…
The REAL issue is the shady business practices of the management, especially as it concerns the 9 hole goat track of a golf course. No one told us when we moved in that for only $ 50 a month you can play unlimited golf (we had to find this out from another resident). If you aren’t 100% sure you will play constantly for the duration ot your lease, or enough to cover the $ 50 a month (basically play twice witht the $ 30 greens fees), DO NOT add this option. Depending on who is working, they may or may not charge you for the cart fee ($ 20 a pop on top of the $ 50 a month) We added it 1 month in, at which time NO ONE told us that it wasn’t something we could cancel at anytime (i.e. if we don’t play enough, etc). After realizing it would be a better deal to join a local country club, we went to cancel the $ 50 a month for the golf. «No sir, you can’t do that» So now they tell us we have to pay $ 50 a month for the duration of our lease DESPITE not using this??? Not to mention, the manager was the opposite of customer service oriented (the nicest way i can think of to word that). I can only think of 2 times in my life I have caused a big scene in a public place as a result of poor customer service, unfortunately, today was one of them.

The best apartments in Denton, plus with all the features it accommodates it’s tenants. You will be making a mistake not living here. Great prices for the size of apartment and for all you get. Plus add golf course, tanning beds, pool, gym, etc. I mean it is a great place to live at make sure you go and give them a try.

Currently living here right now and am loving it. I would give it 4.5 stars. From the staff to the facilities, this place is a great place to live.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are more than happy to help you out with anything that is needed and do it with a smile on their face. From some of the places I lived, out in CA, they could learn a thing or two from this place.
The inside of our apartment is nice. Lots of room and very nice, on the 2^nd floor, with vaulted ceilings. I would highly recommend a golf course view. There are gorgeous sunsets from a lot of the apartments and we were lucky to get one of them. The outside is well kept, from the maintenance crew. Always clean and try to keep it as green as possible with this heat pounding on the grass.
I am a golf member, my only negative I have to say is that I wish they there was some organization when it comes to booking tee times. On the weekend, as a member, it is near impossible to get 18 in because there are so many people out there and a lot of them don’t know what ‘Rate of Play’ means. It just irritates me because I am a recurring payment every month where most of these people come once or twice a year. Other than that, it is a really nice and challenging course. Better either learn how to hit the ball straight or bring a lot of balls. Haha
In the end, my wife and I really enjoy living here and are glad we made this our first place of residence moving from California.

I have worked here for almost three years. It is a one of the few affordable luxury apartments in Denton. Timberlinks is tucked away and gives you a real sense of peace and quite. Amenities are second to none with a resort style pool, hot tub, 2,000 sqft workout facility, tanning, and golf for only $ 50 a month.
