History

Established in 2009.

An Essential Event was founded in the spring of 2009 to fulfill a need that future company owner Cheryl Lynn Foster-​Gerton saw for low-​cost wedding and event planning services. Unsure of whether or not the struggling economy could support her fledgling business, Cheryl Lynn ignored the odds and worked to make her company flourish. To date, she has served more than 40 clients, and continues to experience a demand for her customer-​focused assistance and budget-​friendly expertise.

Business Owner

Cheryl Lynn Foster-​Gerton, is a Denver native and graduate of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. With over fifteen years of event and wedding planning experience, she has worked in both the private and public sectors and with several non-​profit agencies. As both an event planner and wedding officiant, she believes in the value of her clients’ vision, and seeks to combine her creativity with their budget to produce a highly professional, but affordable, experience.
