Description

Specialties

At Artistic Body Development, we practice Myopatterning, a Pilates-based system designed to increase strength and flexibility while reducing risk of injury. Our exercises incorporate resistance training, muscle endurance activity, and stretching. The program develops major and minor muscle groups and places an emphasis on proper body alignment and core strength. Myopatterning classes use machines built in the tradition of Joseph Pilates’ Universal Reformer.

History

Established in 1986.

Artistic Body Development was started in 1986 by Andrea Bains and Mike Dailey at the insistence of their ballet instructor Larry Boyette who studied with Joseph Pilates in the 1950s. Over the years the program evolved into the Myopatterning classes being taught today. The classes were increased in time to 1.5 hours in order to cover the entire body, and the price was kept to an affordable amount ($ 13.00 and under) allowing anyone to be able to enjoy the program.
