Baba & Pop’s Kitchen

First of all, the pierogi are out of this world. I can die a happy man after tasting one bite of the Chile Relleno pierogi… it’s that good! Secondly, the customer service at Baba and Pop’s is outstanding! I placed an order with them on a Friday and went to pick it up later that day. When I got to their food truck, they had forgotten to bring the order with them. The owner apologized and quickly gave me 18 pierogis to take with me for free, while delivering the order the very next day. Highly suggest seeking these guys out for awesome food and customer service!

By far my favorite food truck in Denver! The bbq pierogies are amazing! We’ve changed plans before to make sure we were at the right brewery to catch Baba & Pop’s!

I was so happy to find Baba & Pops at the Bazaar on Brighton last Friday night. They are simply the best. Seriously, their pierogis are SO good.

Picked up some sweet potato and pulled pork pierogis at the farmers market and they are delicious. Very easy to cook and great for an easy meal at home. The pulled pork was my favorite by far. Highly recommend you pick some up for your freezer.

Absolutely the best, the pierogies were fantastic and the service was wonderful. I grew up making pierogies with my family– and these are top notch! Still thinking about them almost a week later!

Stumbled across this gem of a food truck today at civic center eats. I decided to try something new and different than my «go-​to» truck. I was actually super surprised how good these little nuggets tasted. Let me tell you after reading all their other options that were not available today (unless I missed them on the menu)… I will definitely make my way back to this truck. Give them a chance… Or don’t and be lame.

Not incredibly impressed. Had the potato and cheese pierogi; the contents were delish but the outside was super greasy. Asked for my sour cream on the side, it was slathered literally on the side of my paper bowl, completely covering several of the pierogis (would it kill you to invest in some to-​go sauce cups?) Also had cucumber salad, which was swimming in a pool of dressing – also very oily, and messy.
We even tried dessert. Again the blueberry and apple pierogi were only so-​so, making for an all around «meh» experience, which was certainly a little disappointing – I love Polish food. Maybe it’s the «street» factor that makes the greasiness appropriate, but it wasn’t my cup of tea.

Update 9.5.14 — Through some crazy means, the couple who owns the truck reached out to me to apologize for any dissatisfaction and inform me that they’ve noted my comments and made adjustments. They also invited me back. I haven’t had a chance yet but appreciated the customer service so I gave em a star bump. When I happen upon them again, they will get their second chance; stay tuned.

Had their pulled pork perogies from the farmers market. They are incredibly good. I can’t wait to get more!

Yep — pierogies that are worth tracking down this food truck for! They aren’t my grandma’s pierogies from Hamtramck, but they’ll do just fine for CO.
I did a little research and saw that they were going to be outside Renegade Brewery on a Thursday evening… no brainer: first realllly nice day of spring, brewery happy hour, dog-​friendly AND pierogies?! Yes, please. The service could have been a bit friendlier, but the food made up for it.
Oh, and the chicken on the stick was pretty freakin awesome too.

Great pierogies! Especially loved the buffalo chicken. Only downside is it’s not out as late as I am.

Sheesh! I love my pierogies. They were a welcome addition to the Justice League Food Truck rallies with always two main filling options and two size and price options. It’s perfect for a meal or if you’re sharing with friends so you can gorge on more great street food. Or, they’re the perfect accompaniment to #beerFriday outside RiNO brewing!

Yummy. Not much to look at and the plate is messy, but it is so good. I was surprised at how good this was. We had the sampler plate. My favorites were the meat on a stick. (Awesome breading) and the a pierogi with pulled pork and green chile.

Have you ever had a pierogi with butternut squash, arugula, and balsamic vinegar? No? Well you haven’t lived. I’m sure they’re most popular for some of their more obviously crowd-​pleasing varieties; pulled pork, green chili, potato and cheese. But I’m here to tell you, they pale in comparison to a butternut squash pierogi. Seriously. Thank me later.

I was able to sample some pierogies from this truck last week while it was parked outside Renegade Brewery (Wednesdays, on the regular). I ordered three of the potato and cheese variety for $ 4. These suckers left me stuffed! It’s a good thing I didn’t order 6 ($ 6). Boy, did they hit the spot on a freezing, snowy evening — especially combined with a delicious beer. I loved the sour cream, crispy bacon and caramelized onions provided as toppings and scraped up every last bite. The onions were so perfectly caramelized, I have had to revisit my technique at home so they could better stand up to comparison to these… done perfectly, and from a food truck! Next time, I’d like to try the combo where you can pick two items for $ 6, so I can try their kielbasa and ‘kraut. You can also order the kielbasa and ‘kraut combo in a larger portion for $ 5, or as a sandwich for $ 6. I had a bite of the creamy cucumber salad too which was delicious and a huge portion, though a little bit too dill-​heavy for my personal taste. My husband would have loved it though. Though new to me, these pierogies were soft, savory little puffy pillows of pasta-​potato heaven and I can’t wait to try the pulled pork and green chile version! FYI, credit cards are accepted.

Damn these little critters are tasty. We ordered 6 pierogis outside of Renegade Brewery (best beers in Denver, btw) for $ 6. The guy came inside the bar to give them to us, which was really nice. We had ½ cheese & potato and ½ green chili pork, and I thought it was legit they let us order mutliple flavors. He asked me if I wanted bacon, sour cream and carmalized onions, which made me wonder what type of person says no to a questions like that. The bacon was nice and crispy and the onions were particularly good for carmalized onions. Half my friends had never had pierogis before, so I made them eat some (by that I mean I cut off pitiful slivers so I didn’t look like a jerk) and they were totally converted. This is maybe the fourth place I have had pierogies where pierogies were the specialty, and they were by far the best I have ever had.

Happened to be downtown, and popped by for dessert after another restaurant provided a too-​light, too-​pricey lunch. Got to B&P’s cart, and just had to try a couple of new options.
Ordered 3 pierogies — pork and green chili, shepherd’s pie, and apple pie. All were outstanding — and a total of just four bucks.
Track this place down when the weather is nice on the 16^th Street Mall — or find them at a local craft brewery or distillery. Check their Facebook page or Twitter to find out where they will be, and when.

Yummy! I just had an order of pierogi (sans bacon) and they were delicious. Perfect potato filled pasta with grilled onions and sour cream.
The owner was nice. I’ll go back for more and maybe try some of the sandwiches.
