Sometimes it makes you feel really good to write a stellar review about a place. First, you’re doing others a favor about how they can also have a great experience. Second, you’re helping a business that is doing a great job get some well-deserved recognition. Talk about win-win. Brings a smile to my face. So it’s with great satisfaction that I get to tell you about a place you’ve probably never even heard mentioned… «Blackboard Eats» is literally a hole in the wall of a corridor on the first floor(«Suite 125») northwest side of the Tivoli Center on the Auraria campus. Used mainly as a place for students and teachers it’s open to the public and is high on the list for Denver’s best lunch deal ever. Today I had a generous cut of well-seasoned pork loin, a side salad and some delicious sweet potatoes for $ 5.00. That’s right. .. five bucks. And that’s their standard pricing. It’s not like I had a 50% off coupon or they were running a daily special. And lemme tell you, the food was damn good. Comfort food at its finest.(The other choice was a fried chicken plate, also served with 2 sides for the same $ 5 price). When I added a San Pellegrino Pomegranate and Orange soda that raised my bill to a whole $ 6.50 plus tax. Talk about a deal and a half. Nothing beats it in town. The only difficulty with heading over there is that if you’re not somebody with a parking pass you’re going to have to either walk or pay for parking($ 1.50 per ½ hour in the garage across the alley). So I guess the solution is obvious: Take a whole slew of your friends and have everyone chip in for their share of the parking. Everyone’s happy, including those sweethearts running«Blackboard Eats.» Sign me, David«Saving you money for more Christmas gifts» M.

The Smokehouse Sampler is the best. You get the beef brisket, chopped chicken, pulled pork and all of the cornbread you can eat. Plus 2 side of baby back ribs and green beans and bacon bits. I had to take the Chopped Chix home with me because I was stuffed. But excellent food for under $ 10.

My friend who works on campus recommended this place to me. It’s definitely a hidden gem. I have been there 4 times now and the food has been great every single time. You actually get quite a bit of good, and it is inexpensive, so this place is a perfect substitute for the fast food restaraunts. All these perks coupled with a very friendly staff make this, in my opinion, the best place to eat at the auraria campus.

If you are looking for something fast, cheap, and delicious, and you are on the Auraria campus, you MUST hit up Blackboard Eats!!! They have a very limited menu, which changes daily and you can find posted on their website, for $ 5 for your entrée with sides. I had fried chicken, collard greens, and sweet potatoes, and homemade sweet tea for another $ 1.50 I am really picky with collard greens, thinking my mom makes the best in the world, and Elliot’s stand up to my mom’s. Really, is there any higher compliment than that? This is my new favorite lunch spot when I’m on-campus!!!
