We cook fresh daily. Our motto is family style food made for sharing. All of our dishes are more than generous portions you can share with 1, 2, 4 or more friends or family. Chef Dan Grunewald’s crew arrives in the morning to to prepare our famous garlic bread knots, sauces, desserts and more. Marinara sauce is cooked slowly, simmering for hours in our kitchen. Each order is cooked from «scratch» to deliver a flavor rich in content and fresh in taste. We prepare tiramisu to order, chocolate cakes, cheesecakes, cannolis and hand-dipped chocolate strawberries for our guests daily in our kitchen.
History
Established in 1994.
Carmine’s on Penn was established as a neighborhood, family-style Italian restaurant. Our atmosphere is casual, festive, and friendly. Chef Dan Grunewald leads the kitchen brigade with many years of experience, promising a consistency that is rare indeed. Our servers bring the chalkboard menu to life, describing dishes and offering advice on selecting just the right combination of food and beverage. Carmine’s can easily accommodate large groups and private parties for any occasion — business dinners, birthdays, graduations, rehearsal dinners — or just to celebrate life. Our wines are specially selected from Italy to complement our menu as the pairing of food and wine is a logical combination for the Carmine’s experience.
