My first and only experience was a poor one, unfortunately. I heard that the physician and clinical staff were wonderful; however, the front office receptionist and office manager were so unnecessarily unfriendly and inflexible that I cancelled the appointment and will go elsewhere. Really disappointed I didn’t get to see the provider, but there’s no excuse for poor customer service.

I have been a client here for a couple of decades. The care is great, but the pricing has gone insane. Even with insurance, if you have a deductible, expect to pay out the nose! CCD is a serious contributor of what’s wrong with health care in the US today. I was charged (after insurance adjusted rates) $ 513.62 for an annual skin check which included a wart removal, nitro on two small keratosis spots, a small skin tag nip, and a suspicious spot shaved. Of course I paid the pathologist another fee. I’m not sure what the 221 $ office fee was going toward, because every little other thing was at least another $ 50. Even the skin tag, which didn’t cost them as much as a band aid and one second. I was in there about 15 minutes total. It’s sad that this is happening, as I will be shopping around for a good, reasonable dermatologist. I think it’s been a decade since I’ve even seen the Dr. This was the PA’s rates!

I found a suspicious spot on my forehead and went to get it checked out. Since this is close to home for me and they take my insurance, I’ve been here 2 times now.
My first experience was on the poor side… I think they mostly get you in very easily because they have plenty of PAs in the practice. If you’re trying to see the MD then you might have to schedule out quite far. Anyway, the particular PA I saw, can’t remember her name because it was over a year ago, was sort of condescending in tone with me. I think her demeanor wasn’t all that great, and was a bit snooty. Poor bedside manner, I guess are the best words.
This last time I went, I had a better experience. The PA I saw was friendly, took time to explain things to me, and told me exactly what I needed to know. Not condescending in any way and was very friendly.
Another (potential) negative is that the staff here look pretty young, and I don’t know about you but I guess I tend to go with the older folks how have been in practice for a couple decades a bit more. Though, I guess I shouldn’t worry about that unless I had a complex issue going on, which I don’t.
Overall the customer service here is just ok (if I’m being honest about my 2 experiences). I think they could definitely work to improve on it a bit, for example with whomever it is on the phone making appointments. She sounded rude and annoyed when I had called, but thankfully the visit went ok and made up for that.

The PAs that work here are great! Very knowledgable and so nice! I’ve been there twice now and have seen both of the PAs. Impressed with the office. Not the easiest to find but managed to figure it out. I think the first time I had an appt I called about 5 times because I couldn’t figure out how to get to the building, the girls were very patient and directed me. Had a great experience at Cherry Creek Dermatology. Went in for my annual skin check to make sure my sun spots/​moles are all normal. Dr. Maloney was very thorough. My last dermatologist appointment a few years ago (different doctor, different practice) felt rushed and they barely looked at anything. Dr Maloney, on the other hand, took his time and looked at each spot.
Very happy with visit! Will be making an appointment for my husband as well to make sure all those years in the sun didn’t cause too much damage.

If you know anything about your own health and don’t want to just take unnecessary pills and use a lot of pharmaceuticals this isn’t the place for you. I went with a skin rash that I needed to know why it happened and because I didn’t use two types of antibiotics (which the PA «didn’t think I would have an allergic reaction to») and steroid cream and petroleum based products on my face she treated me horribly. My initial appointment she told me that I probably had an allergic reaction to something and contracted a bacterial infection. When I returned two weeks later she gave me a flippant petulant attitude because I didn’t buy the prescriptions that she wrote. [I told her that I didn’t want to ruin my health for four months with antibiotics to deal with a simple infection.] When I told her that I knew the previous week I had eaten something that caused the initial reaction and asked her a few questions about how to prevent it she blew me off and told me that it would probably come back because I didn’t «deal with it properly» If your looking for a source for drugs this is your place. If you want someone to support you in your quest for health, you should pass this place up.

Great doctor, great medical staff, not so great office staff.
I’ve had two incidents involving the office staff that tend to indicate they do not have proper systems in place or training and experience to compensate for those systems.
In one, the office was entirely befuddled about how to put through a claim to our HMO, which they contract with. They ended up putting my poor husband through a substantial amount of stress thinking they wouldn’t perform a very necessary surgery, and taking up lots of my time over the course of multiple phone calls all over creation, and blaming everyone else in the world, but it was really that they just didn’t know what they were doing. I had to ask four times to get a cost if we had to pay out of pocket and, finally, was told a mere $ 300 – 500. The billing lady at my primary’s office ended up saying, this is a ridiculous situation, let me call them and tell them what to do – that I should not have to be calling around with procedure codes trying to navigate the complex relationship between the insurance company and the dermatologist and the primary. I described the situation about what had happened in an email to CCD, but that was never responded to or addressed in any way at all.
In another incident, I called in early morning on Friday and asked for them to call in my husband’s post-​surgery prescription to a pharmacy that was showing on our insurance’s website as in a small-​ish town that we were driving to that day. The CCD lady said no problem, they would do it straight away. We drove all day and pulled up just past 5pm — to a Walmart that said «grand opening next month.» The pharmacy was not yet operational (the insurance website had been plain wrong), but also CCD had never called us to let us know that they weren’t able to call in the prescriptions as promised. There was no other covered pharmacy in town (the nearest was over an hour away) so we had to pay for the post-​surgery scripts out of pocket. If CCD had simply called us back and let us know, we could have made alternate arrangements along the way. I left a message with CCD saying what had happened and that I was surprised and disappointed that they hadn’t let us know they weren’t able to call in the post-​surgery scripts as promised and, again, the message was never responded to or addressed in any way.
It wasn’t just that these mistakes happened — hey, mistakes happen, that’s life — it’s just that the office staff don’t seem to care whatsoever. While I appreciate that Dr. M is a kind, ostensibly knowledgeable doctor, and every nurse or med asst I’ve dealt with has been great, too, their office staff leaves something to be desired. When you are dealing with insurance and prescriptions and the large part of medical care that isn’t being in the exam or procedure room, that stuff matters.

I have always been treated great here, and the staff is very professional. Happy that my insurance is accepted here as well! If you have any need for a dermatologist, this is your place!

I ended up here for a few reasons: I needed to see a doctor ASAP, my insurance covered it, and I am new to the area. There were zero reviews of this place but I had no choice as everyone else in town was booked for seemingly ever!
Sometimes things happen for a reason though. Dr. Maloney was probably one of the nicest doctors I have ever met, if not the nicest. Very personable, friendly, and conversational. He also knows his stuff and I could tell that he takes care of his staff, too.
Everyone was super professional. I didn’t wait very long and the appointment lasted about 15 – 20 min. He knew exactly what my condition was and prescribed what I needed. I’m very happy with the entire visit.
There is no question that when I have to go back that Dr. Maloney will be my dermatologist of choice!

When I arrived at the office, I was told the doctor was on vacation… this was after waiting for an appointment for 2 months. No effort was made to call/​email me. I felt my time was disrespected.
