Wow. I was completely blown away with this place. Family run, fresh prepared delicious food. Their beef lo mein is seriously amazing.

Through my search for the best hot and sour soup in the Denver/​Boulder area, this place left a serious mark on my standards! The soup is perfect, and the service is friendly. I could tell that this hidden gem has a lot of regulars, and rightly so!

This was the first time we ordered and the food was very good. Hot, fresh and big portions. We ordered the sesame chicken and general tso’s. Crab Ragoons are wontons so they are small but the filling is really good! Was happy with the overall experience.

decent place. food is fresh. nobody was in there, so i finished my clients taxes, while enjoying lunch. I got the Shanghai Beef and it had pretty nice size cuts of cabbage in it. It looked pretty health, for the main dish. the fried rice was your normal white rice tossed with a bit of soy sauce, the egg roll tasted home made. the did take over 5 minutes to make my food, and nobody was in there, but i KNOW i have waited longer for a burger in MANY places in denver. haha.

Food was delivered quickly and everyone was very friendly on the phone. The quality of the food was average but nothing was tasty enough to get me to go back again. My search for a Chinese delivery joint will continue…

Some of the best-​tasting and freshest Chinese food prepared mostly for take out in front of you at a reasonable price. The Lo Mien is the best that I’ve had anywhere. All chicken and beef dishes use quality meat — lots of fresh vegetables, etc. My family and I have been eating there since it was opened by Minh and Beng around 20 years ago — watched their son grow up — and it’s still running strong — great food! No trendy overpriced hipster stuff — just good Chinese.

This place is a diamond in the rough. It is in a bad neighborhood, looks run down and has little to no online presence or advertising. You walk in thinking you’re about to make a big mistake. Then you see the cook get the order, usually taken by the owner (seems like a family biz). You see him put quality meats, great sauces and fresh vegetables into his wok and actually make your dish to order. This is not big batches of slop kept warm til they grow enough microbes to kill a horse. This is real food prepared by people who know what they’re doing. No, this is not the best Chinese food ever. You can go to a white table cloth, spend a hundred bucks and get way better food. I would much rather go to China bowl and spend 5 – 8 bucks for a delicious, fresh and safe meal.

Love this place, wontons are the best I have ever had. I wish they were open on Sundays oh well. Found there website.

I am happy to say that I am finally thrilled to find deliverable Chinese in my new apartment.
My family and I ordered sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, chicken lo mien, hot and sour soup, and egg rolls. All were delish.
It’s traditional American Chinese fair — reasonably priced for delivery. Quick delivery, [edit: see below] I might add! Rice was fresh, soup was hot, EXTRA crispy noodles given, and ample portions all around.
We’ll definitely be going back… or rather… having them come to us!

I lowered my star because while the food is good, the last couple of times delivery took forever. Also, they don’t have ala carte items — so if you want to buy say Orange Chicken you have to get rice, egg roll, and wanton with it. If you decline all the additional stuff it’s the same price. It can get pricer than it needs to be and inconvenient.

Fast delivery, courteous service, good food, average prices.

On my many trips to Denver, I came across China Bowl by random. Some of my friends told me about it and I guess it stuck because one day I was visiting my friends in Thornton and when I saw the place I was like «Oh cool China Bowl (pause), OH MAN CHINA BOWL!» I cut into the parking lot and my appetite was surely excited. Now, whenever I go to places with Chinese/​American-​Chinese food, I brace myself a bit because sometimes it can lead to trips to the bathroom. Not here!
I looked through the menu a couple times and saw the basic rice and noodle dishes. The dishes are the same you would find at any Chinese fast food place. The restaurant is small and quaint. I have always taken my order to go while running errands and doing photoshoots so I never had the time to sit down here, although it looks like seating is fairly limited.
Onto the menu: If you are remotely a soup fan… This is THE place to come to. The aroma of the soup and spices come alive with an ever so slightly hidden flavor that will excite your tastebuds even more. I can speak for the wonton soup and hot & sour soup. The hot & sour soup is amazing. Think authentic Chinese hot & sour soup with an amazing spicy kick at the end. I could eat this for days! The wonton soup on the other hand relieves my body and seemed to do the trick when I strained my back. I would recommend the lo mein over the fried rice dishes, but that’s not to discount the fried rice dishes because they are good too. If you drop by during lunch, their combos come with the entrée, rice and eggroll for about $ 5-​$ 6 and about a dollar more for dinner. Portions are generous so be prepare for leftovers!
I looked all around the internet and did not find an online menu or website. I assume they have done business the old school way for quite some time: word of mouth. While I was waiting, I noticed some regulars coming in. The people that were there were called by name as well as the customers so they must have been going here for awhile. I wish I was back in Denver for this and many other reasons. A great place to go to and enjoy some excellent food!

Everything I have had here is pretty standard American-​Chinese food, which is what I would expect from a place that is serving Chinese food from what looks like an old wienerschnitzel.
They have all the usual stuff: noodles, chow mein, fried rice, egg rolls… and it’s all good.
Reasonable prices, and you get a lot of food.

I have to rescind my previous review, and bring them down to 2 stars. The food there isn’t that great (except for the sesame beef). We recently asked that they hold the MSG, and I was told they could hold it everything BUT the fried rice, as it was already prepared. Maybe I’ve been too pampered in my past life, since I’ve seen the restaurants fry the rice as it was needed, but UGH!
In addition to the day-​old fried rice, the sweet and sour pork was nothing more than little scraps of pork in a big puffed corndog breading, with just a smidge of sauce.
I suppose I should mention that I was ordering on the fly, because I’ve never seen a menu for this place. So, it wasn’t a surprise when I tried ordering garlic green beens and was told they don’t have green beans but could do snow peas. OK, lets try the snow peas. I’m not really sure what I was expecting, but I was hoping for something that had less resemblence to, and tasted better than, snow peas dredged from the muddy sludge draining through my gutter.
I’ll refrain from descibing the rest of our order, since I seem to have blocked it from memory. But I would like to add that, even though I told the guy I was having to wing it sans menu, and we spent a good 5 – 10 minutes haggling over what I wanted to order and what they could provide, they never included a menu with our order. Not that it matters, because I seriously doubt we will be ordering from them again. At least, that was the discussion we had while making «What the hell did we just eat?» face.
