Classical Ballet of Colorado (CBC) under the direction of Elizabeth Shipiatsky trains its students in ballet technique, character dance, classical variations, repertoire, pas de deux and proper stretching. The aim of CBC is to produce dancers possessing a strong, clean classical technique with great emphasis on artistry, musicality, purity of line, coordination and a quality of movement that is free of mannerisms.

CBC teaches all ballet classes in the Vaganova Method. The Vaganova Method is the most respected and comprehensive method of classical ballet training, which for many years has produced many of the world’s leading dancers.

CBC students are technically strong and artistically advanced. Most of our experienced students have been accepted at such prestigious schools as the Boston Ballet, the San-​Francisco Ballet, the Kirov Ballet, Washington D.C., School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet, Bolshoi Summer Intensive, New York, Bolshoi Academy, Moscow, Russia, and the American Ballet Theater.

History

Established in 2011.

Continuing the finest traditions of Russia’s Imperial Ballet School and the Mariinsky Theater, which gave the classical ballet world such renowned dancers and choreographers as Anna Pavlova, George Balanchine, Vaslav Nijinski, Mikhail Fokine, Rudolph Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Natalia Makarova among others.

Eliz Shipiatsky, Maria Tyukova.

Ms. Shipiatsky trained at the Vaganova Academy (Saint-​Petersburg, Russia), and was invited to join Kirov Ballet of Mariinsky Theater upon graduation. Creating a second career, she completed Master Degree in Choreography with the Leningrad State Conservatory (Russia) in 1989. Ms. Shipiatsky served as a choreographer for major ballet companies in Europe and North America, including the Kirov Ballet and the Vaganova Academy.

Ms. Tyukova studied at the Perm Ballet Academy in her native Russia. In 1998, she joined the Perm State Ballet Theatre and toured to China, Ireland, United States.. In 2001 she joined Ballet Internationale and toured internationally with the company to China, Taiwan and Canada. In 2006 Maria joined Cincinnati Ballet and was thrilled working with famous choreographers like Val Caniparoli, Kirk Piterson. Ms. Tyukova joined the Colorado Ballet Academy as a faculty member in 2008, training intermediate level students.
