Clips on Sixth

I finally found my place for a haircut. I had gone to several other barber shops, with terrible luck — you can see my reviews of them here (

After getting sick of being given hipster inspired haircuts /​sheep shearings, I decided to give Clips on Sixth a try. Tony is an old-​fashioned barber who gives a traditional men’s haircut, so much so that he doesn’t really ask what you want. I don’t mean to suggest that he is unresponsive, he just knows pretty much what you need. If you’re looking for something more modern, I suggest you go somewhere else. However, if you’re little more traditional and you want a great haircut, he’s your guy. I even surprised him by showing up with my 1.5 year old son (long story), but he graciously got him a chair and when I was done with my cut, he put some cartoons on the TV and gave my son a haircut, too (for free!). Good conversationalist and comes across as very genuine. I also really dig the back of the cigar store vibe — there’s no smoke in his shop, but it definitely is a masculine setting and smell to the place that feels authentically his.
For specifics, it is $ 25 for a haircut. He takes walk-​ins, but appointment is a better use of your time and his. He accepts credit cards, but he prefers cash.
I really liked Tony and his shop. I’ll be back.

This is now my go-​to barber in Denver. Tony does a great job! I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Just went in for a beard cut. The barber did not listen to what I wanted and he bothered my neck with his straight razor. I’ve had them before and they don’t end up like this. I rarely get razor burn but I will def get it now. He also took a lot of length off when I asked him to leave the length. Not happy with this. Make sure you tell him what you want to a T or he will do what most barbers do and give you the normal. I should have waited to go back to the salon.

Great haircut. Tony gets the job done like it should be done. Having a choice cigar before or after is a good way to relax into the atmosphere.

Still coming here over the years and the service is still spot on. Tony has been the sole groomer of the beard now and the wife loves how he tames and keeps me away from the homeless beard look. His spots fill up fast and Tony is a master of his craft.

Stumbled across Tony thanks to Unilocal and he is quite the find. Tony is a one man barber shop show in the back of Cigars on Sixth. A single chair, a single barber and relatively limited hours, but he does a great job. To combat the limited time he has available he takes reservations, he usually even has a slot or two available the day of. You can easily relax and enjoy a cigar or just an excellent cut. Plus he is adept with a straight razor, whether it be touchup on sideburns and neck, or a luxurious full shave, Tony is trustworthy and skilled with the blade. I won’t go anywhere else in Denver for a cut or a cut and shave.

Tony is the man. Best deal in town. Great cut while smoking a cigar. A man’s barbershop. What else can I say. You need to come see foe yourself!

$ 20 for an excellent hair cut in a really old-​fashioned atmosphere. Tony’s a very capable barber and easy to talk to. The room in the back is secluded, and he takes his time– all in all an awesome barber experience.

Clips on Sixth is a traditional barber shop with one barber, Tony Loiacono. His shop is in the back room of the cigar shop, so if you have a problem with cigar smoke, you should probably go somewhere else. But if you want a great old school barber experience, this is the place. Tony’s a maestro of the straight razor. He’s so popular you need to call ahead and get an appointment, as he very rarely has time for walk-​ins.

unfortunately have to be honest and say i left very aggravated and pissed off. Tony was very nice and did a good job, but i went in for a beard trim after letting it grow out for more than two months. told him i wanted a light trim to even everything up. unfortunately the first swipe of the trimmers revealed my beard being cut down shorter than i have ever kept it. i didn’t say anything cause it was to late and damage done. im not here to point fingers or blame Tony, maybe i wasn’t clear enough. still not sure how a «trim» equates to a full buzz cut on a beard that i had obviously been growing for a while

Tony is the only guy I would trust with a straight razor. Never had gotten a straight shave before and had always wanted to get one. I had heard about this place through word of mouth. Simply a Denver classic barbershop. You can come in, drink a beer, grab a cigar from the cigar shop up front and then let Tony fix your right up.
Great results, reasonably priced, and a fun casual environment. If you’re looking for a true barber, look no further.

Tony, the Italian barber from Long Island, serenaded us with the Sinatra radio station while shaving my 91-​year-​old dad with skill & tenderness.

3^rd time I made an appointment to get a cut on my way to work, 3^rd time I waited past my appointment. If you got the time, tony is worth the wait. I understand he is trying to make money by squeezing people so don’t bother calling ahead. Might go back?

Tony was terrific. This is one New Yorker who can honestly say I had to go to Denver to get the closest shave I’ve ever had — and from a guy who grew up in Astoria!

Great, old-​school shave experience. Tony’s very cool and I got one of the closest shaves I’ve ever had. In a week or so, he’s gonna get a crack at a haircut, too. Prices are frighteningly reasonable, the atmosphere’s great, and you’ll leave looking great.

Loved everything about this place. It is how all men should get haircuts. I only got a haircut this time, but next time I will be getting a shave also. Tony does an amazing job and is an interesting person to talk to.

Clips on 6^th has been in Cigars on 6^th for about a year now but Tony has been cutting and shaving in Denver for around 23 years. It’s great to visit a place with this kind of atmosphere AND get the best haircut and shave to be found in Denver. Tony and I talked a little shop as he cut my hair and he also provided me with the recipe to his concoction for the perfect shaving lather. Cigars or not I came away with the best grooming I’ve had in recent memory. No more hit or miss, luck of the draw on which barber I choose at that other place. I’m almost hesitant to let the word out on this one for fear of not being able to book him again.

I like this place. Found it on Unilocal.Classic simple barbershop. I like the cigar smell and i like tony. $ 15.00 for a haircut is nice. His place is clean. downside: always cuts my hair too short and its not a particularly stylish cut. he cuts it how he cuts it. its a $ 15 cut so whadda ya want? I’ll be back sometimes

Decided to try this place based on a quick search on Unilocal.I went in on a Saturday afternoon and was immediately taken care of. Tony gave me a great haircut and shave. This was the first time I’ve ever had a shave like this and I enjoyed every minute of it. I also thought $ 25 for a shave & haircut was very reasonable.
