Corvette Connection

I recently bought a 77 vet. the smog motor only has 77,000 miles but is still a dog and in need of help. I have built and installed several small blocks but wanted to do something different so I called the d bags at corvette connection and talked to the head d dag Rich. Just a short phone call all he could do is talk about how fast his vet was and I could come down and look at it and the pictures of him racing. when I finally got him to answer some of my questions all he could do was correct my terminology and talk down to me like I was stupid for asking questions. I finally had enough of his line of B S when he told me he could do a top end «kit» cam, heads, manifold and carb for 10,000 $. When it boils down to it I wanted to build a 383 with a blower and go to a tuned port E F I. And I could do it myself for about 5000 $. But after our conversation I came to the conclusion that Rich caters to a very specific clientele And that is people with to much money and a lack of automotive knowledge. Before you let him do any work on your car get a second opinion if you need the work and how much the work will cost. He is not the only shop in town. He is not the only performance shop in town. And last but not least, Hey Rich I’m going to build my 383 I am going to put a blower on it I am going to install the E F I and I am willing to pay some one to install it and make it work and it won’t be you.

Rich and Thomas put a ProCharger on C7 Corvette. They did a great job! I highly recommend them for any LS work or to put some boost under the hood!

Just picked up our new C7 fully upgraded by the excellent staff. Everyone is very knowledgeable and wants to take the time to understand the customers needs and how to fit that with the excellent service! I highly suggest Corvette connection for all of your performance tuning needs.

I had my old Stingray repaired by Rich and his boys… My old Stingray was smacked in the rear by a DUI and needed the rear plastic, exhaust, and some other parts. Insurance work. After 5 months or so, I give Rich a call to see how the car is coming, I find out they have not started any work yet, Rich mentioned to me he did not know I would want to Dive the car so much or so soon. I am thinking to my self. What? AT any rate, I pressure him to get the work started. The work starts. I come down every couple of weeks to see the progress. Rich shows me his Corvette he is building for the Drags… Great !! But I want my car finished. Finally my car is done, so I thought and get the car about ¼ mile from them and the engine starts to lay down, I bring it back, and a mechanic finds one of my electric fuel pump leads lose. Makes it tight. I get home ok. Wash the car and find water swimming pool around my gas cap. I find the drain line kinked and pinched against some of the plastic work they had done. I fee it, and it drains. Yea !! As I am doing this… I notice the new rear plastic is flapping all over. I take it back. The Mechanic tells me the braces used are optional. I asked where are they? He finds them since he removed them. I ask that he puts them back. He does. All is fine There. Did I forget to mention that I could not get my hood open? Took it back twice to have it fixed, Finally fixed that myself as well. And on and on and on. There is more. You can find some videos on Youtube about this as well. Bottom line is that if Rich cared as much about Customer cars as he does his own car, he would have a great Business fixing and servicing corvettes.

I was referred to the Corvette Connection by a colleague whose thought the company may have some value despite their inability to diagnose a trouble code on his vette. Initially I took my vette in to have a squeak in the front suspension fixed-​I got a bill but squeak remained.
I then had a problem with difficulty starting-​would start and immediately die. Took it to Rich and told him that I needed the problem diagnosed. This was in the Spring of 2014. Despite communication with Rich I did not get a ‘diagnosis’ that the issue was the MAF sensor until around October. I asked him to repair the air-​conditioning, horn and the issue with the suspension (again). Nearing the end of November Rich called and gave me a laundry list of items needing attention-​transmission leak, rack & pinion leak, etc. I asked what I owed him thus far and the bill for diagnosis and replacement of the MAF sensor was around $ 600. I asked him about the other items that he was to fix and received a vague response that the MAF sensor was the only item fixed (only took them over 3 months-​incredible). I advised Rich that I would have to consider my options on the other repairs and suddenly they needed my car off of their lot immediately-​he called twice to remind me.
I understand that diagnosis of issues such as my starting problem are difficult and can be costly so I cannot ding them on this, however their is no reason that the job should take over 3 months. Not remembering-​let alone addressing-​the other items that I wanted fixed when they had the car so long was probably a blessing or they’d have my car until 2016 at the rate of their ‘repairs’.
Poor service.
Unreliable.
As an aside, the nightmare of my experience with the Corvette Connection was enough to make me donate my vette to Colorado Public Radio.

I brought in my vehicle to have an inspection done for leaking oil. There were a few issues discussed below:
1. In the process the technician noticed a loose exhaust bracket and broke it trying to tighten it (I did not request this be done). I was charged 25 dollars to fix this bracket. I did not approve the work or ask for this to be done in any way.
2. The shop suggested I rebuild the transmission, rebuild the clutch and replace an oil pan gasket for over 4200 dollars. It turned out the transmission and the clutch were both in good condition and neither required a rebuild. Another shop fixed the leaking issue by replacing the oil pan gasket and replacing a missing bolt at a cost of 350 dollars.
3. They were disorganized and made me wait over an hour to get my bill of 79 dollars for putting the car up on a rack for 30 minutes (about 20 of which was me waiting while the tech worked on another car).
In summary, I think the technicians are probably very capable of doing quality work, but the business practices I experienced leads me to believe there are far more honest businesses in the Denver area that deserve the work more.
