Crave

Went to Crave tonight; upon arrival I was immersed in a warm atmosphere-​very unique to the bar setting. With an elegant blend of futurist and and retro feel and an equally elegantly creative menu. it’s also one of the finest stocked bars in the state. My main course consisted of Cherry BBQ duck wings; this was one of the best plates my taste buds have ever enjoyed and I’ve visited many of Denver’s finest establishments. I followed this with a keylime cheese cake which was a pleasantly suprising twist on the traditional dessert, along with a bananna split heaped with one of the best-​tasting homemade ice creams. I was most pleasantly surprised when the new manager Dave introduced himself to us and was a joy to talk to.

We went to Crave after having the MOST AMAZING BURGER EVER (which was $ 1!!!) at the Budweiser and Burgers festival in Denver. We HAD to find more. We went to Crave right by the Coors Field and we were not disappointed. I got the popper burger which I could only eat half of (and round II left overs were just as good as the OG)… Service was great and it turns out they have a pretty awesome happy hour too! Definitely check it out.

My 3 college classmates and I went to Crave for a snacks and desserts last Wednesday afternoon. We find the place nice and cute. It’s a nice slot outside patio so, we got the outside table and shared what we had… The weather that time was gloomy and it’s cool breeze makes a cup of Latte very perfect for the day. We had Hazelnut Hot Chocolate Cake, Trio of ice cream, Lamb sliders and ceviche and Vanilla Dusted Donuts. We had a good snack afterall… We will be back again!!! The desserts was sooooooo great!!!

This place is overpriced, and on top of that they are constantly pushing you to get more food or drinks so they can get a larger tip. I came here with my mom and her friend, we all ordered expensive cocktails for their happy hour, originally $ 12 so with the $ 2 discount for happy hour they were still a pricey $ 10 drink. We also ordered the brie and all appetizers were supposed to be $ 2 off as well, so the brie was also supposed to be discounted to $ 10. The woman who was serving us kept pushing us to get more food, another round of drinks, but we were having a good time and only wanted a small snack so we declined. Then when the check came my mom offered to treat us and then when we got home later that evening and re-​examined the check we realized we received not one single happy hour discount after we specifically inquired about it and what was discounted.
I could tell the lady serving us was disappointed we weren’t wasting hundreds of dollars on their overpriced food and drinks, so I’m guessing when we stopped after one round of drinks she decided to get a better tip that she’d just charge us full price. We still spent $ 50 on three drinks and a tiny plate of cheese and jam. They don’t care about anything here except getting every dollar they can out of your pocket, so just walk over to the next wine bar there is one on every corner here.

Yummy drinks. Yummy chocolate mousse dessert. The prices are astronomical tho.

Seat yourself. This place deserves a much higher ranking for its price range. Amazing dessert. Worth the price. I had the lemon molten cake. Presentation was 5 star w lemon and raspberry glaze and sorbet served on fried coconut flakes! Also the fig flatbread was extremely savory. I don’t usually like flatbread but I was Very impressed. Clean and classy upscale interior design. Cozy and friendly staff. I was in town 7 days trying all Unilocal hits and was disappointed with other places that had higher ratings than Crave… I’m still trying to figure out why this place ranked lower than the others. I give it 5 stars for taste, quality ingredient, presentation, service, pricing and ambiance.

We went here for brunch using a Groupon and it was pretty good. We got the following things. Baked brie, Caesar salad, steak and eggs and spinach artichoke Benedict. There were some good things and some not so good things.
The baked brie was supposed to come with arugula, but came with spinach instead, which was a weird substitution. The dish was saved by the homemade cranberry compote, which was amazing! The Caesar salad was supposed to be grilled with fried anchovies, but there pretty much no char on it at all and no anchovies. However, it tasted great, so no big deal.
The steak and eggs and spinach and artichoke Benedict were both great and very reasonably priced. The best part of the meal was the English muffin. It was so delicious and I was so glad I got it instead of toast. I asked for jam and was told they have a bunch that are made in house and I asked for the rhubarb one. It was the best jam I’ve ever had. Strawberry rhubarb with some vanilla too. The English muffins are only $ 1 as a side and I will definitely be back for more if I’m downtown for another reason.
Now on to the not so good. the service. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good by any means. No one was rude or anything, just neglectful and not accessible. We had to ask several times for water, silverware and napkins and were left alone for up to 10 minutes at a time just waiting for her to come by. The bartender/​manager was no better. A table behind us with kids spilled their water and we gave them our napkins to clean up with because the bartender just walked right by and ignored them. I would be giving this place a 4 if it weren’t for the poor service. My boyfriend is a server and comments that the quality of service is likely the reason for how empty the restaurant was.
So, the food was quite good even though it didn’t exactly follow the menu descriptions, but due to the service I likely wouldn’t make a special trip downtown just to go there. The parking was also terrible, but it’s downtown, so no big deal.

I like Crave. It’s a small city block from the Colorado Convention Center as well as the Theater District.
We had a very nice portobello veggie sandwich and a great turkey and bacon sandwich. The service was very good. Overall an excellent brunch menu but we opted for the typical lunch fare.
One warning — they have kettle chips which are made from sweet potatoes so if that’s not your thing they offer substitutions including fries and a side salad.
Overall excellent food and great service.

Came in on a Sunday evening with my daughter since I had a Living Social voucher I had to use.
We were immediately greeted and were able to choose our table. Tara was our server and she was very friendly and attentive.
Very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and at a very reasonable price. I would definitely come back without a voucher.
We ordered the beef tenderloin and the lamb pot pie with a house salad. Both were very flavorful and a good portion which left us very satisfied with our meal.
We got the chocolate molten cake and that was a perfect ending to a great meal.

Our dinner here last night was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Not only that but our server (first week on the job! I think her name was Alexis and we might have to invite her to sit down with us on our next visit) was hilarious, genuine, friendly and would make me return even if the food wasn’t so great. But it WAS great! My husband ordered the bangers ($ 16) — a jalapeño cheddar elk sausage with smoked gouda croquettes, ghost pepper aioli, sauteed kale and truffle mustard. I pondered ordering that also because the croquettes sounded so good (you can also get them on the small plates menu), but after the server mentioned the housemade pasta in the veal parmesan dish ($ 16), I ordered that. Never one to order veal, I did anyway because I love fresh pasta and it was the only dish on the menu featuring it. The pasta was delicious and came topped with a perfect simple tomato sauce, basil oil, grana padano and a huge wedge of focaccia. It was a huge bowl of food that I had to share quite a bit of to clean my plate. It would be hard for me to order anything else in spite of the number of other things on the menu that caught my eye (beef and bleu salad, duck wings, short ribs, the salmon entrée and mushroom flatbread to name a few).
Crave has a great wine and beer list as well as many specialty cocktails. We split the buckeye dessert ($ 11) which was a dense, fudgy brownie topped with peanut butter fluff served with caramelized banana slices, a caramel drizzle, a few scattered peanuts and a big scoop of chocolate ice cream over chocolate shavings. We never order dessert but we both love PB and it was beyond my expectations. Though I was skeptical about this small spot mainly due to location (even without reading the many mediocre-​to-​negative Unilocal reviews), and in spite of it being pretty empty inside, we had a delightful experience and will definitely return! I can only imagine that their brunch menu will float my boat.

I only swung by to try some wine for my wife, see what we could buy for her. The place is very trendy and the staff are real nice and helpful. I didn’t order any food but I heard they only serve small plates and alcohol, that’s about it.

Good, simple, but unique restaurant options in Akron. Lets face it, Akron lacks progressive approaches to food and dining. Crave fit this niche.
Décor is also refreshing without out being stuffy or overly pretentious. Staff has always bee friendly and helpful.

Happy hour until 6 PM, $ 2 off all specialty drinks and appetizers. They have an entire page devoted to hot drinks, just what the doctor ordered on a cold day. The hot apple cider with bourbon and cinnamon was delicious.
The eggplant quinoa fritters were amazing, light, savory, soft, crispy on the outside. Like a healthy version of a croquette.
All flatbreads can be made gluten-​free. We ordered the mushroom flatbread. I could have had more mushrooms and less cheese, but it was still very good. Then again, anything drizzled with truffle oil is addictive.
The dessert menu is very tempting, with two gluten-​free options available, an apple cranberry cobbler and a chocolate ice cream cake. I guess they took the seven layer cake everyone raves about off the menu. Bummer.
The apple cobbler was definitely a nice warm and comforting dish. Loved the bruleed marshmallows. It did need a little crunch on top.
Crave is worth a visit, whether for a happy hour drink or dinner. Their food is on point, and the service friendly.

I just visited Crave recently, it had been a year or two since I was last in, and the change was huge: the space is about twice the size, and it had shifted from a coffee+cocktail+dessert place to a small plates+cocktail+dinner+dessert place.
I was really impressed by the mac & cheese small plate we got, as well as the dessert, for inventive ingredients, stylish presentation, and reasonable value. Service was super friendly. Overall, it has the tempo of a place you linger, not somewhere to get in-​and-​out in record time.

As a person who likes dessert, this is a great concept. You can get small plates, drinks, and dessert here, so its a nice concept as a place to go after you eat dinner or if you’re not that hungry, or really like dessert. We had the espresso cake and 2 different mules. All the windows were retractable doors, and they were all open b/​c it was such a nice night.

Stopped by after dinner at Linger to grab a late night dessert. Other than the creepy patron at the bar I enjoyed Crave. The server/​bartender was super friendly and attentive. We had the trio ice cream and the Elvis. The banana overpowered the Elvis and I couldn’t taste the peanut butter but it was still very good, especially the dense whipped cream.

Stopped here for a late night desert, the fat elvis peanut butter cake is amazing with whipped marshmellow cream! Also tried the trio of ice cream which was covered in chocolate spheres and whipped cream!

We came in on a Saturday night around 10 pm and it was a pretty busy place. Unfortunately because of the amount of people service was pretty slow.
I really wanted to try the donut trio; however, they were out. I went ahead and tried the Toffee Mocha Crunch Cake. It was rich but very good especially for me since I’m a dessert addict.
I’ll have to give it another shot on a less busy night.

Oh my. If you have a sweet tooth, time and money to burn –visit Crave. Came here a few times for dessert and birthdays and honestly, just a place to hang out with my girls and dish about all that we girls love to dish about. Love the first time we came, the service and presentation was markedly better than the second time. We typically come for happy hour. It is pricey — for drinks, desserts and snacks it was pretty much like going out for a full meal.
Love the desserts here — they are RICH and sweet — like break your teeth kind of sweet. Their presentation is what makes this place stand out. I don’t love that they ran out of macarons the two times I had come here, in search of macarons.
I made it a point to come here based on the pictures other people posted on Unilocal with their macarons. I’m just cursed I suppose (it is a horrible addiction). I did however end up scoring two on my desert plate — it was with a chocolate/​peanut butter cheesecake with a side of 2 raspberry macarons, not particularly special — they were okay, pretty sweet but not terribly flavorful. I’ll probably be back and maybe for a meal. It’s a chill place to hang out with your friends and celebrate something special, like a birthday or anniversary — definitely a special occasion kind of place.

Holy rich desserts batman. I don’t think I could possibly finish an entire dessert by myself. They are super great for sharing though!
I’ve tried all of their (current) desserts, with my personal favorites being the Hazelnut Hot Chocolate Cake and the Tiramisu, although the Cherry Amaretto is a close second. The Tiramisu has a pretty intense coffee flavor with a great texture. The Hazelnut Hot Chocolate Cake is dense and VERY sweet. I’m not a huge fan of the marshmallow, but it was still good in combination with the cake. The salted caramel ice cream served with the cake is delish (but it melts quickly).
This place is great for large groups (sit in the huge booths!) as you can all share desserts. If everyone orders something different then you have plenty to try!
