This place is excellent. I had avoided it because it did not have very good Unilocal reviews. However, I saw a picture of one of their burritos and decided to try it. There green chile is amazing! I got a breakfast burrito and a chile relleno. Both were great. The place is small so I would recommend getting take out.

I got into Denver, checked in, and needed a quick bite so I walked a bit on Colfax and found this place after my number 1 choice had a line. I liked the concept of fresh mex and ordered a smothered chicken burrito(smothered comes with green chili sauce and cheese on top, super smothered or whatever it is called adds lettuce and tomato). The service was ok and the food came out fast. I sat outside on a beautiful day(there are only about 5 chairs inside) and enjoyed a VERY spicy, but very delicious burrito. It was not deep fried so that was good. The burrito was full of chicken the sauce was excellent, a real tribute to Tex-Mex even in Colorado. I liked the place and would return. Prices are very reasonable.

This place has great food — let me just put that out there. But the service is terrible. Attitude when I ask for a cup of water? Really? You can’t treat costumers like this. It’s not really cool to slam down a pen when my friend doesn’t put a tip on the receipt, either(maybe you would have gotten one if you treated us with some respect?). You sir need to work on your attitude or find a different job, because you obviously don’t appreciate the reason you have a job — the customers.

After seeing this place featured on some really well known food blogs I had to try it out. My wife wanted doughnuts from next door, but I wanted some meat in my belly so I decided to check it out. Awesome green chili. Awesome breakfast(don’t bother trying anything else). The usual cashier lady(I wish I knew her name) is the nicest cashier in cap hill hands down. I get upset on days when she is not there, to the point where I don’t want to eat there because the other girl definitely does not have quite the same lovely personality. I am allergic to cheese and nuts; it’s no problem getting items that are cheese and nut free.

We were very hesitant about this place(i don’t like mexican food at all and this place is a hole in the wall). So we ordered 2 shredded beef burritos, gluten free steak burrito, and chicken wings and fries(guess who ate those). The young woman who helped us was SO nice and answered all my questions and made us feel very welcome. The food came out steaming hot and delicious! I got the wings without sauce and they were still crispy and came with yummy fries and ranch! The 2 burritos were delicious and full of meat. My boyfriend got the gf one(only 35 cents extra) and he said it was great. I would highly recommend this place and we were all very surprised at the quality and customer service! I saw a for sale sign and so i hope that wasnt for this place!

Had a good to very good chorizo and egg breakfast burrito. Very spicy nicely greasy. Very messy to eat. I’m not sure why taquerias insist on doing the«open on one end» style of burrito. The cheese had sort of a liquidy«7 – 11 nacho topping» quality to it that was a negative for sure. Large and filling for $ 5 approximately.

Denver fresh Max is a solid cheap Mexican food joint up on the edge of Capitol Hill. I usually only go there and get the two dollar breakfast burritos which are pretty delicious and obviously a great deal. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food you might want to head further east into Aurora as this has a slightly American twist on it it. That being said, their green chili is pretty bomb and I can’t complain about that.

Well priced, simple delicious food. Always fresh, extremely affordable, and open early. Great for the breakfast burrito run that makes you a hero to your coworkers. When it’s open, there’s no reason at all to go to Taco Bell. Wish they were open late and or Sunday, but they open super early so it’s forgivable. Delivery is no longer offered.

About 4 – 5 times a week I grab the breakfast burrito special which is different each day — just amazing. You have to appreciate a medium to hot spicy burrito, but this place by far makes the best in the city. The grilled tacos are also exceptionally good. Destiny always greets me with a smile, and occasionally I chop it up with the owner Octavio — both of which are always friendly and make you feel right at home.

This place needs to go away, over priced. Rude owner. Yes it does take forever to get your food. Very very very sub par ingredients. for their prices I would go to pinche tacos, where the owner takes pride in the atmosphere of the establishment and the quality of the food. The food was so vile I called the denver health department. Chicken should not be that color.

Nothing special. Food was okay. But honestly, I could make better huevos rancheros myself.

Before I even went in — I stared up at a billboard-size menu with KS107 blaring out of speakers and pots of beautiful flowers on a deck that had a couple different levels. I couldn’t decide what to get –there were so many options. It was 10am so I got their smothered bacon-egg burrito and a large lemonade. I didn’t like it for the first couple of bites – it seemed the ratio between a lack of saltiness to the burrito and a too spicy green chili was a bad combo. The more I ate it though, the better I liked it. It blended into delicioso! Food was very fresh — the temperature was hot. Outside is nice on the wooden deck – above the street with the radio blaring strategically to drowned out the crazy traffic on Colfax. a dozen steps away. All the flowers were great. Will definitely come back again – to catch their $ 2 breakfast burritos and see what their guac is like.

This place used to be the home of Bubba Chinos, which was sub-par at best. Denver Fresh Mex took over and we decided to give it a shot being that it was close to our house and a perfect location to watch the the crazy Colfax people. They have a different $ 2 breakfast burrito each day of the week. They’re jam-packed with ham/bacon/chorizo/etc, spicy green chili, cheese and potatoes. They rival Santiago’s, they’re that good. 2nd time we went, we ordered a chicken quesadilla, a couple beef tacos and tostada. All very delicious. Quick service(called it in). And all very cheap. I’m not sure how others on here are saying this place is «expensive,» because it’s far from that– very reasonable(unless you panhandle for a living). Good stuff, we’ll be back.

Overpriced, abhorrent service… Food took so long to prepare… Can’t believe that customers(multiple customers) that ordered after me got their food first. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

This place is great. Delicious food. And everyday there’s a 5 $ lunch plate meal that is worth the money. I’ve tried a good amount of what they have to offer and everything is great. They use fresh food(hence the name) and you can taste it. The only thing is that sometimes the food can be a little too spicy(this coming from my Mexican boyfriend!) But outside of that I love it. We come here all the time. It’s down the street from where we live

Denver Fresh Mex is only a walk up window indoors and a patio seating area outside, so in the winter it is mainly a quick serve to-go restaurant. I have only been for the $ 2 breakfast burrito. It’s smaller than their normal burrito, but a great value! It’s only available from 7am-10am and the meat rotates daily so check the sign next to the register. They also advertise a $ 5 lunch special I can’t wait to try. I will update this review once I have a chance to try a full main menu item.
