Denver Integrative Massage & Esthetics School

I just finished my immersion program in Esthetics and I love this school. The quality of education you get here is amazing, all of the instructors are currently in the Esthetics field and are very knowledgeable. They focus on both the medical and the botanical aspect of skin care and I believe that is a huge advantage and I feel very prepared to go in the field.
I visited many schools in the area and I knew this was the school for me the minute I stepped in.

This school just keeps getting better. The Esthetics School has been such a great addition. I’ve had multiple facials and their Body Detox ritual. The services are wonderful and the students are really attentive and skilled.
Just like the Massage portion of the school there is an instructor available at all times to provide guidance and answer student questions. In addition they have the products that they use during sessions available for purchase — just like you’d expect at a spa, however they’re never pushy about getting you to buy products.

I feel badly that I haven’t written a review before now, but I’ve been going here for over a year once a week and this place is amazing! The treatments are so relaxing and who can beat it for around $ 25!!! I sometimes get two or three in a row! it’s close to downtown and the Auraria campus, and while I was in school, I’d go here all the time to make sure that I was taking care of myself. What a gift!

I decided to go with the School of Botanical Aesthetics after visiting the school and having an awesome meeting with Kristy in the office that made me feel like the school’s philosophy was the best fit for me.
I am now currently enrolled in the weekend aesthetics program and I am absolutely in love with the school and all of our instructors! Every weekend that I arrive to class I feel at home like I am right where I am supposed to be.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and make sure that we receive a personalized experience when we are in class. Hillary and all of the instructors have great experiences to share with us and teach in a very warm way, while still making sure that we will be well prepared to practice outside of school and pass the state boards.
I truly feel supported in my career transition and enjoy being in such a peaceful uplifting environment that is also super fun!

I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to study Thai massage with Hillary and DIMS! I left my training feeling confident to begin my practice and have continued to work as a massage therapist since! Thank you Hillary and DIMS for bringing this amazing healing modality to Denver!

I’ve been a loyal client of the Esthetics School since August 2013 and don’t have enough praises to bestow upon the program, staff and students.
I come primarily for their extremely affordable waxing services (they wax everything), but have enjoyed all manner of other beauty treatments they offer (some of which I hadn’t even heard of before –dermaplaning, chemical peels, eyelash tinting etc – and none which I would be able to afford at full-​price). As long as they’re still in business, I honestly can’t see myself going to a salon or med-​spa for any of these services. Why would I? They do such a thorough job, the atmosphere is very relaxing, and you seriously can’t beat the price.
Of my dozens of waxing appointments, I’ve only had a couple student clinicians whose work wasn’t up to par with that of full-​price waxing studios. Since the students have expert supervision and help from their teachers, stray hairs don’t go unnoticed. Oftentimes the students do a better job than professional waxers who are rushed on a time limit, and who charge an unbelievable $ 80 for a full leg wax. Here it’s only $ 24, and you’d be surprised at how many opportunities they give you throughout the year to get half-​price services. The other day I treated myself to a microderm (which included a nice foot/​leg massage), underarm and half-​leg wax, and lash tinting and it was only $ 52!!! Un-​real! The results were spectacular too.
I’ve always had pleasant interactions with the students, who are remarkably well-​rounded and intelligent individuals from all sorts of backgrounds. They, along with my favorite supervisors Martin and Tiffany, have useful and honest advice for skin and beauty conundrums, and are always eager to help. This past winter/​spring I did a series of 5 chem peels for $ 120 total, and I was blown away at how effective they were. Addicted to deep exfoliation now!
It’s super clean and everything smells very natural and botanical. They carry products from the Image Skincare line as well as Dr. Hauschka, but they are never pushy about selling them. Sometimes your service will be in a private room, but most appointments are done in a big open space with dividers for privacy. For me it feels just fine, but others accustomed to fancier arrangements might not enjoy the layout.
A couple other things:
–You have to set up an online account to book beauty and massage appointments. They’re very easy to book and cancel, and you can see specific students’ schedules if you really liked someone’s work.
— Allow plenty of time for parking and walking from your parking space, as it’s nestled in a high-​density area of big apartment complexes.
— Do bring cash for tips, as you can’t tip with a credit card.
As someone on a budget, I am truly grateful for the amazing services they provide. I would never have even considered getting any of the skin care treatments that I do on a regular basis here, but I’m so glad that I can get them at the right price. My skin looks better than it ever has! (I can’t believe anyone would pay $ 450 for 3 chemical peels!!) And I save hundreds of dollars a year on waxing.
Anyway, high recommendations all around. TREAT YO SELF!

I recently graduated from the massage program at DIMS and had an incredible experience. After going back and forth about whether or not to attend massage school, I happened to come across Denver Integrative. After receiving an amazing Thai massage at the student clinic, I knew that I had found my place!
I completed the 5-​week immersion this past Fall and loved every single minute of it – I wish I was still in class! All of the instructors were wonderful, full of knowledge, patient and a lot of fun to learn from. I really appreciate the variety of classes as well. Not only do you learn Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, but you are also given a very thorough introduction to Thai massage, as well as energy lines, sound therapy, herbal compresses, etc.
The administrative staff is also wonderful — they are always there to answer any questions and help support you through your program!
I highly recommend this school — Not only will you receive an amazing learning experience as a student, but the massage clinic here is great as well! Stop by the student clinic for a massage :)

I’ve been a client of this massage school for years, going back to when they were at the much smaller location, west of I 25. Because of that, I’ve been on the fence about writing this review. After a couple of weeks of contemplating it, I decided the experience I had was bad enough to earn this review. I want to start by saying, the students are fantastic. Over the years, I’ve had a few not so great massages and spa treatments, however that’s to be expected when you’re receiving them from students who are learning. They were all very professional and by and large, really good! So I’m giving this review two stars instead of one, because the students have always been the best part of this establishment. My hubby gave me a gift certificate for Valentine’s Day, to treat myself to a massage and facial. A few weeks ago during the week-​long massive snowstorm, I was walking to my car (the evening before my massage and facial at DIMS) and slipped on the ice and smashed my head on the pavement HARD. Hard enough that I had a golf ball sized bump for over a week and a severe headache that landed me in the urgent care the following day. This resulted in me missing my appointments. When I got home from the urgent care, I had an email from DIMS requesting payment for the full amount of the two appointments. I called them and one of the administrators answered the phone. I apologized and explained that I had had a bad fall and was injured and had been at the urgent care for hours, and that’s why I had missed my appointments. She didn’t miss a beat, and without saying a word about what I had just explained to her, she proceeded to inform me that since I had not canceled within the 24 hour timeframe, I would need to pay for the appointments. She was kind enough, to offer me the option of using my Valentines gift certificate to pay for them, instead of my credit card! I was so shocked by her response, that I still even a few weeks later, don’t have the words to describe my disappointment.

I attended the aesthetics program. It was an incredible experience. When I graduated I was able to take and pass the State Boards with ease. I was also completely prepared to go to work immediately in a high end spa. I can’t say enough good things about the instructors or the class content. As I interact with other aestheticians and we discuss what was offered at schools we attended everyone wishes they had gone here. I believe I got the best education to prepare me for this field anywhere!

I attended Denver Integrative Massage School from March 31, 2012 through year end 2012. I started with Thai massage on the weekend program. I completed my 150 practicum hours in student clinic over the summer and then took the Western Immersion in September 2012. The ideas taught in class are then re-​enforced by the student clinic supervisors. This program prepares the student to take the national exam, get licensed and be ready to start a private practice or apply for work in various environments. All aspects of the industry are discussed. Students are well screened to be sure candidates are a good fit for the industry. The environment is comfortable, less formal, dedicated and provides a sense of community.

When you receive any type of massage, the most memorable ones tend to cause a type of replenishment that is almost unspeakable. You’re able to sink fully into a spaciousness and comfort not quite possible with the busyness of our everyday life. Details about your next project, day at work, or responsibilities with business tend to drop off, your mental space becomes clear, and muscles carrying tension you had no idea about become relieved and released. As a body worker specializing in Thai Yoga Massage Therapy, Hillary is simply an expert at doing just this! Her training in Thailand really shows through her work; She clearly embodies the powerful ancient teachings that originated in Asia.
Yet, Hillary is more than well versed in what she does because she’s able to bring multiple facets of healing into her sessions. She is grounded and integrated in her knowledge taking on the role of a student and beginner as she teaches her students. This attitude keeps her humble and able to absorb and continue to shape an unfolding wisdom in the way that she presents herself. Hillary may be a massage therapist and teacher of her art, but she also easily becomes a friend and someone to relate to authentically. Overall, Hillary’s light-​hearted, loving nature makes her fun to be around and very skilled at dropping clients into a renewing experience every time. I highly recommend her as someone able to give a wonderful massage, and moreover someone able to connect to each person she touches through her heart.

I’ve been a student at Denver Integrative Massage School since April 2014, and I love the program. I’ve learned an incredible amount about the human body through the anatomy course, and the pathophysiology course is very thorough as well. DIMS students are taught anatomy and physiology at the college level, from what I have heard this program goes more in depth than the average, and I am very thankful for that. Rather than teaching students the basics and hoping they leave with an introductory understanding of the profession, Hillary and all of the instructors, encourage their students to learn both the basic and advanced techniques — we are encouraged to make a lifelong commitment to the study of massage and its many uses, both medically and therapeutically.
Additionally, the massage program covers techniques form both the Eastern and Western hemispheres giving a truly integrative approach to massage therapy. The instructors for the Thai portion have studied extensively in Thailand throughout their career, and it shows through their teachings. The Western portion is equally impressive, the instructors for Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofacial and Integrative have studied and practiced for many years. Their techniques for teaching have been very effective for me as a student and I hope to reach their level of understanding at some point in my practice. I highly recommend DIMS for any of their programs, the amount of time and care they have put into building their programs from material to instructors shines through in every aspect of the school.

Absolutely beautiful people run this school. The environment that has been created is one of radiant positivity. All the instructors are passionate and knowledgable; it is very reassuring to have the opportunity to grow as a healer within the Denver Integrative Massage School’s warm and ever encouraging atmosphere.

DIMS rocks. I have had many student massages over the course of the past two years and have never had a bad massage. I’ve also had some exceptional ones, as good as any pro you’d find outside of a school. The vibe of the place is great and everyone is always super friendly. Highly recommended.

I graduated from the Aesthetics program in the beginning of the year. It was such an amazing experience that I highly recommend this school for anyone looking for a great program. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and very helpful in giving the best education. The school is in downtown Denver and quite a drive for me coming from Castle Rock but it was well worth the drive. I love this school so much that I had to enroll in their massage program too!

Iv recently completed the 6 month integrative massage program at DIMS… and loved it!!! What initially drew me to the school is the integrative approach of both eastern and western massage practices. I spent the first half the program learning the ancient and holistic Thai massage practice from Hillary… a great teacher with much enthusiasm and a bright spirit… intoxicating to be around. in the best possible way!!! The later half was spent learning western massage from various instructors all of whom had different backgrounds and techniques to offer to the classes… some more sports therapy, others more spa and relaxation, and another with an integrative table approach of thai/​western/​sports. I really appreciated each instructor and their personal background/​experiences of massage practice… this makes for a better well-​rounded student experience.
I also took advantage of the weekly evening anatomy/​physiology classes taught by an M.D. and a PT. These classes especially allowed for a more comprehensive understanding of our intelligent body structure and how massage can or cant help certain pathologies.
In general speaking… I feel that the school instructors were extremely knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging, and excited to be sharing with you! Im so grateful I found this school!!!

I have become a regular of The School of Botanical Aesthetics (SBA) and Denver Integrative Massage School (DIMS) and try to turn anyone I like on to this gem of self care too.
Hillary and her DIMS folks and Martin and his SBA staff and students are capable of my PITA ways with repeated visits for explicit requests without vocally judging me. I have received services here easily rivaling services at high-​end spas. Some students are better than others since they are supervised students but you can give constructive feedback during your session to improve your experience and the experiences of others coming after you.
The DIMS school was integral in my last pregnancy with a piriformis + IT band issue I had that one student with a therapy background finally took care of in one surprise session. I recommend them to my prenatal and athlete friends all the time because you never know the full background of the student you work with
A big tip is keep an ear out for community offerings and do not be a jerk because the school may open up to you in even better ways beyond just a paying client in a session. The school has also turned me on to new products in my repertoire and I am thrilled for the new herbalism program they are expanding with.

I love the massages at this school. The students are all very good. The setting is not as relaxing as a spa but for $ 28 you get all the benefits of a great massage. Having gone to other massage places (envy) I think the massages are actually better here for half the cost.
Also, there is plenty of free parking but you may have to walk a block. I recommend parking on 13^th st. Head west on 13^th and park anywhere on 13^th st and it is Free which is great for a Central Denver location.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve gone in for massage and facials from students, and the prices and quality are unbeatable. The school is beautiful, the whole place smells like yummy lemongrass, the students are kind and caring. You definitely have to book in advance to get the time you want, but it is so worth it. The owner and manager are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. You can also purchase products there and they have some great lines. If you are in need of Thai massage or aesthetic treatment and are okay with the community aspect, do yourself a favor and become a regular here. I really couldn’t say enough great things about this place.

I attended the School of Botanical and Medical Aesthetics (SBMA) which is under the DIMS umbrella. I do not over exaggerate when I say attending SBMA was life changing for me. The curriculum is outstanding. New courses where continuously offered at no additional cost. The instructors are so nurturing and informative as they all currently work in the field and are so willing to share their real life experiences. Because it is the only school of its kind in Denver, heck in Colorado, that focuses on both the holistic natural approach as well as the medical anti-​aging aspects of skincare, my skills are very sought after.
