I am in total agreement with Robert G. I love and respect the doctors at Denver Internal Medicine Group, but their office management leaves a lot to be desired. I called 3 times yesterday beginning at 8:00 a.m. in an attempt to get an appointment; I left 2 messages and spoke to the operator. The operator was very helpful, took down all of my information, but no one ever called back. I informed them that I had a low grade fever and deep chest cough with sinus congestion for 10 days … still nothing! I called again today, and have now been on hold for the better part of 20 minutes; someone finally answered and let me know that the doctor had approved a prescription yesterday … but they are apparently waiting on a nurse to call it in to the pharmacy … you could end up in an emergency room waiting on the staff :-(

I really like my doctor., Dr. Alix. But it is just impossible to get anyone on staff to call you back. I’ve called for same day appointments for illness at 8 in the morning only to still hear nothing back hours later. You owe it to your patients to let them know if they can’t come in so they can pursue other healthcare options. I have called to ask for prescriptions, refills, questions, etc., only to never even get a reply. Once, while sitting in the waiting room, 3 different patients came in person to ask for prescription refills because noone had called them back over days. The only thing keeping me here is that I like my doctor and becoming a new patient at another general physician in Denver takes weeks. Please, please, please fix your processes. It is unprofessional to just ignore phone calls and voicemails. This is a repeated problem for many of your patients.
