Denver Pet Urgent Care

This place is great. Affordable care with competent doctors who know what they are doing.
My dog wasn’t even scared of Dr. Javokanov (sp??)
He was AMAZING.

I cannot begin to express how much I appreciate the staff at Denver Pet Urgent Care. Dr Jovanovic saved our Boxer’s life. He was fast, compassionate, caring and knowledgeable. We brought in our 3 year old male Boxer in as soon as we believed him to be suffering from bloat. Denver Urgent Care saw our dog right away and within the hour had him in emergency surgery. Dr. Jovanovic stayed into the night and followed up with me even giving me an after hours number to reach him personally with questions. Anyone that has experienced the horrific situation of bloat with their animal knows the urgency and care that must occur for your loved one to survive. 1 week later and our baby boy is going great! Thank you Denver Pet Urgent Care for saving our Fritzy!

I have been to this Urgent Care twice with two different pets; one my own (a 2 year old dog) and one my mother’s (a 7 year old cat). Each time our experience was amazing and affordable for emergency after hours care.
Not only was the staff friendly, courteous and kind while getting us checked in/​out and explaining aftercare procedures. The techs were also amazing as well. But we most enjoyed the experience with our vet, Dr. Jovanovic. He was always great with our pets, they were each calm and very at ease with him. He takes time to talk with us and our animals during the exam. He also checks in with us at before we leave to make sure we have no questions about meds or administering them. We just love and appreciate this vet. I would continue to recommend this place to friends and family as their go to after hours care facility!

Dr. Leka has a wonderful way with animals

This was the only place open when our cat Sam started freaking out two days prior to our move to the Western Slope. He was hiding, wouldn’t go to the bathroom, would hiss/​growl when you touched him near his tail– clearly something was wrong. So we immediately brought him here. And boy what a waste of time and money that was!
I should have known something was up when the vet absolutely REFUSED to touch Sam –he just looked at him. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never gone to the doctor and just been diagnosed by one quick look (it sure would be nice, but it’s not realistic). When I would try and pet Sam to calm him down the vet would say «Oh no, no don’t do that. He clearly is upset.» Well duh, he’s in pain! I was suggesting to him, «well do you want to at least look at him? (and by look I mean actually put your hands on the cat?!)» And he just kept staring at him from afar! What a wimp. So we casually mentioned to the vet that we were packing up boxes and moving. He then dismissed the problem as «Oh, then this is just anxiety. Your cat has an oversensitivity disorder and he’s upset you’re moving.» He gave us some shots of morphine to calm him down and we laughed it off as to what a narcissistic cat we had, left the vet’s office with a bill and an incorrect diagnosis.
Move forward to the next day, when Sam has wet himself under the table because he can’t stand up, and is screaming in pain when you touch him or he tries to stand up. Clearly, something is wrong– unlike what the vet told us. And it’s a Saturday, when next to no vets are open– and we certainly aren’t taking him back to here, where they will just shrug off the problem. We frantically found a good vet –which cost half the price, and actually diagnosed Sam correctly by *gasp* feeling and touching around him! Imagine that! He had a broken/​sprained tail. The good vet wrapped Sam in a towel and did some military move on him that contained him while he gave him an anti-​inflammatory shot.
So thanks for not only wasting our money and time by shrugging off the problem, but more so for making poor Sam remain in unnecessary pain for a day when it could have just been solved.
One extra star for nice receptionist who made the visit a little more pleasant.
