History

Established in 2006.

Emich Volkswagen is run by fourth generation automobile dealer Fred Emich. His great grandfather started in the automobile industry with a Chevrolet dealership in Chicago after serving in WWI. Later his grandfather expanded out of Chicago into Joliet, Illinois with a Ford franchise and then moved to Tucson, AZ and started an Oldsmobile dealership which is now home to Subaru. In 1975 his father got his start with an Oldsmobile franchise in Lakewood, CO. He grew this single point into 9 dealerships in the Denver Metro Area. In 1997 the Emich dealerships in Colorado were sold to AutoNation along with Chesrown’s and John Elway’s to create John Elway AutoNation which is now Go AutoNation. In July of 2006 Fred, his father, and Bob Colbert purchased Luby Chevrolet from Group1 Automotive and started Emich Chevrolet. In October of the same year they purchase Mountain States Volkswagen from Sonic Automotive and started Emich Volkswagen.

Fred E.

Business Owner

Fred has been involved with the car industry for as long as he can remember whether it has been with the Emich group or the Autonation dealerships. Even being the General Manager Fred still finds time to meet and assist customers who come into the dealership.

When he isn’t in the office you can find Fred in the great outdoors skiing, whitewater kayaking, golfing, cycling, running, and hiking. Fred is also a race-winning Pirelli World Challenge race car driver. On his many trips to the wilderness he brings along his wife Lex, their twin daughters, and their dog Leyla. Fred is a proud graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont where he met his wife and helped the ski team win the Eastern Division Ski Championship.
