Epic Escape Game

Team building for our work group. We didn’t get out :(but we had so much fun! We had some good laughs and it was awesome seeing the problem solving happening. The host was very friendly and provided clear instructions before entering the room. My only feedback is the locks, they seemed very worn and didn’t turn very easily but maybe if we got out I wouldn’t think that HA! Good times, thank you!

Hands down the best escape room I’ve experienced yet. This place had the whole package.
First off, Epic Escape Game is situated in an older, multi-​level home. The atmosphere of the entire place is awesome. Choosing Dorm of the Dead means trekking down into the creepy basement. So cool.
The staff was fantastic. You are warmly welcomed in to their establishment, and the staff does an excellent job of introducing you to the escape room experience. A thorough introduction and explanation of rules and what to expect leaves you feeling that you are fully prepared for entering the room.
The room has a bin inside by the front door for dropping off all your bulky belongings (jackets, bags, etc.). Thank you for this!
Their clue system is good. While using walkie-​talkies is a little difficult to hear someone on the other end, the staff always repeated everything we asked them to. They really make sure that you are able to hear them.
The puzzles were seriously awesome. Very creative and challenging. Not just 20 combination locks.
Finishing the escape room was a very positive experience, and you leave feeling satisfied. I can’t wait to schedule another escape room here.

We went here for a birthday and had an awesome time! We did the Sweet Dreams room. The owner was really friendly! I forgot her name. Sorry :(

Eight of us visited here tonight. We worked as a team in an effort to solve a complex of puzzles, mainly involving how to open a series of locks. We had 58 minutes to complete our task, but we ran into problems near the end with about 10 minutes and 2 locks remaining. Clues are available, but our hostess did not explain the clue very well and chattered on for some time after we asked for help. It was cleverly designed, but one step in particular was very obscure and we could have used a more clear explanation. We were told only ¹⁄₅ groups are able to solve our particular game in the allotted time. It was a fun event and we would try again at this type of game, but likely in a different location where the help and the clues were more useful.

Walkie-​talkies as a way to give clues? Sucks.
Played Pines peak and it sucked.
No detail. No real attention put into the room.
We were in and out quickly.
Save your $. This place isn’t worth it.

We’ve done 3 of their 5 escape rooms at this location, and they definitely have a unique flavor to their rooms, though their set-​up is a very classic definition of a puzzle room.
The staff has always been warm and welcoming, the puzzles have always challenged us, and we’ve never left feeling unsatisfied.
If you want a traditional escape room experience, this is your place. We’ll definitely be back, and are excited about the grand opening of their Englewood location.

The game was pretty good. In relation to other escape games I’ve played, it was average — a couple of good puzzles, a couple of opaque ones. It was set in a good location — a historic house — as opposed to some of the lame, more corperate-​y ones I’ve played. I wish they would have done more with art direction (didn’t feel like they were interested in spending a lot of money on the design) but that’s just me.
Would have been 4 stars, but had very bad experience with staff. Was told on phone we could bring 9 players if we bought out the room for 8 players (at a price that’s relatively high compared with other games, even in tier 1 cities I’ve been in). Upon arriving, the staff very unceremoniously sprung it on us that we all owed extra money immediately upon exiting room, before even congratulating us. Even after explaining that we had been told we had the whole room and asking nicely, the woman working told us that he boss «reviews all the security footage from every room, every day» and see there were 9 players, making me pay personally in front of the group that I had already collected money from for the experience, meaning I had to go back and collect like 3 dollars from everyone, which was so lame. Not only did she have a horrible attitude about this whole thing, the idea that her boss is counting every person in the rooms strikes me as a weird work environment.

First escape room but very enjoyable! Well organized admins and interesting room concepts. Our room had some quirks which made the clues more difficult to decipher due to old age of paper or poorly made clues. But overall well thought out and very fun.

Escape the room puzzle games great for groups. We had a group of three but you could have up to 8 per group. Escape by figuring out puzzles within the room. We chose the hardest and did not make it and had a great time failing.

This was tons of fun! We can’t wait to come back and try another room.

So fun! Didn’t escape but so close. It will leave you thinking about it for days. Lost a star because it feels too expensive for what it is and our room had a «flaw» that the clue master missed when setting it up for us. If it were slightly cheaper, I’d be doing it more often.

First escape room with friends and it was a lot of fun. The theme was fun but what made it really fun was how close we were to the time limit. We literally got to the exit with 20 seconds left! The clues are connected and team work will get you further if people work on different things.
Parking is easy, the area is nice and the people are nice. You’ll definitely leave with a nice feeling.
It is a little pricey especially for a group on a weekend, that’s the only reason why I took away a star. But definitely would recommend.

So far I’ve done two of the rooms here, both with my fiancée. We did The Other Side with two other couples, and managed to finish (in record time!), and then, since they had an open time slot, we attempted The Moustache Thief on our own, and didn’t finish in time. I think, if I were to go back and try some of their other rooms, I’d want to go with more than two people. Otherwise, it can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve been to 4 escape/​puzzle rooms in CO, and Epic might be my favorite. I felt like they were more creative with the escape room format than others, and the rooms were a lot more challenging than the one I did at Puzzah! I definitely plan to go back and try another of their rooms.

Such a good escape room! My friends and I have been on an escape room kick so we have tried a few so far, now that they’re popping up all over in Denver. This is our favourite. We solved the Gold Rush room placing 3^rd in time overall (Go Team: Nobody Wants Yo Sheep!) and previously having been told it’s one of the harder ones, it was a nice high afterwards. I appreciated that their clues didn’t outright give you the answer and there was a well-​managed amount of work to solve many different types of puzzles (some quick, some longer, etc). It also really helped that there were five of us as you really need teamwork and multiple teams going at once to solve the room in the time given. We had a great time.
This location is actually a house next to the 20^th Ave Campus (where St Joe’s and Kaiser Franklin Hospitals are located). Parking was easy to find on the street. When I called ahead of time because a few of our group were running late, the owners were very easy-​going though they did stress they couldn’t make anyone else’s appointments run late. Inside, there are puzzles to play with or purchase in the main lobby. The décor in the rooms and all over the house all fit into their puzzle theme. It’s all very charming! After you’re done, they take your picture on their wall with a large assortment of hats, signs and other props (like in a photo booth). If you check out one escape room, make sure it’s this one.

This was our first experience doing an escape room and being 6 months pregnant I didn’t want the kind that tried to scare you to death. The people that run the place are super nice, don’t make you feel dumb whether you escape or not. The clues were challenging but still fun. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and we will be back to try another room!

Excellent setting — the Victorian house is really awesome (much prettier from the outside than any other venue), and each of the interior adventure rooms is fully decked out to match the theme and story line.
Parking was free, but depending on the time of day, you might not be able to get a close spot. Carpooling would be a real time-​saver for large groups, simply because of the parking issue.
The house has a nice waiting area, and they have two restrooms onsite, but since the building has a lot of steps and staircases, it would be difficult for someone with severe mobility issues. The good news is that you won’t have to wait very long. (We were very early, and they got us started within 10 – 15 minutes).
One thing that really differentiates this venue from others is that the game play is not just confined to a single room (some rooms have closets or doorways to adjoining rooms, which makes the experience feel even larger and more exciting).
The staff is very attentive and friendly — they pay close attention to your progress and will voluntarily give you hints if it looks like you need them. The only downside is that you’re going to NEED those hints, because without them, it might be difficult to figure out which clue goes with which puzzle, and which puzzle solves which locked item. (Tip: Find the big TV and turn it on; in addition to displaying a countdown timer showing you how much time you have left, the staff will also type helpful clues on the screen if it looks like you need them).
You can reserve a specific time in advance (by pre-​paying online), or you can just go there in person and wait for the next opening to come up. In either case, you might want to check their website to see which rooms have openings at which times, because this place can get pretty busy. Pricing was fair, and not having to pay for parking helps. We paid with credit card, no issues there.
Although the staff is very accommodating to any sized group, we felt that most of these adventures are best suited for larger groups (minimum of 4 people in our opinion) — we tried to solve their intermediate and advanced puzzle rooms with only 2 people, and although we got «close» in both cases, we found that we simply didn’t have enough time to solve all of the clues. More people would have helped, and there are plenty of puzzles to keep everyone occupied.
Adventure rooms are always a great interactive group activity, and since Epic has an entry-​level challenge designed for beginners and younger children, it is equally suite for a team of friends or coworkers, or a family of any size. Highly recommended!

So much fun, in a really nerdy way. I’m not sure if I would ever get out of a room on my own! This was a super fun way to spend an evening with friends and we can’t wait to go back.

So much fun! We took 4 adults and 2 kids, and played Toys in the Attic. Our whole group was engaged and entertained, solving the puzzle in 47 minutes. We look forward to coming back soon to try another room!

This was a VERY fun experience! It’s pricey to take a group, which is the *only* reason it’s 4 stars instead of five. The puzzles are engaging, the time pressure feels very real, and it’s a very fun cooperative activity. A few of the puzzles feel less clever and more tedious (in particular I could have done less counting), but those are outweighed by some very fun theming and room design, quite a few excellent puzzles, and the attentiveness of the owners. In the event that you requested a hint, you instantly got one that was very relevant to where you were in the game, indicating that they were actively following your progress with interest! Difficulty levels are accurate and helpful in making selections, and the house itself makes an excellent setting. Wonderful job, Epic Escape!

Our family of 4 was looking for something fun and different to do this past Sunday and came across the Denver Epic Escape Game. We had an absolute blast and haven’t stopped telling our friends about this great experience. My wife and I and our 2 teenagers all had a fantastic time and came out laughing and smiling and reliving moments from the game.
The house itself was fantastic and is a historical landmark. The cluemasters were great and did a great job of explaining the game and providing little clues at exactly the right moments along the way. We played The Grand Theater presents the Mustache Thief and thought it was a great first game for us especially with kids. Equally fun for them and for us. We joined in with another party of 3 and that made the game more enjoyable (and possible) than it would have been with just the 4 of us.
Excellent family activity or with a group of friends. Every friend we have told about it so far wants to get a group together to go. We can’t wait!
