Heavenly Dog is an Obedience Training facility, as well as a Self Service dog wash, and Full Service Grooming shop. We keep the shop sparkling clean, and there’s always a fresh bowl of water out front for Fido. Stop in and see for yourself!

History

Established in 1992.

Many years ago, Suzy owned a big olé pooch that had a bad back, and skin allergies. He needed baths every other week, and none of the shops were designed to suit her dogs massive size. She was always having a hard time finding a place that worked for her and Capone.

Finally she decided to open her own self-​service dog wash! Rather than rickety stairs, she built heavy duty ramps which are easier for big dogs to go up. She researched shampoo and conditioners, and found a great selection of fantastic, all natural shampoos to offer. Soon, Capone’s skin issues were a thing of the past, and Suzy was thrilled to spend her days with the dogs.

Suzy started offering Obedience Training as well. She had a very good base knowledge, but also continued her schooling by working under a variety of other dog trainers. She picked up what worked for her, and dismissed what didn’t, and now has her own, unique style of dog training.

Suzy S.

Business Owner

Suzy, like most little girls, loved animals from babyhood. She grew up with ponies, horses, kitties and always at least 3 dogs. She would come home from a riding lesson, and would teach her German Shepherd, Hilde, to jump fences just like her horse did.

As she got older, it was clear Suzy wasn’t going to grow out of her love for animals, and after many years working in Corporate America, she hung up the business suits, and put on some more comfortable clothes, and now she spends her days with the dogs.

As head trainer, Suzy is busy not only running the shop, but also running around to do various private training sessions with her many clients. From the 3 lb. biting Pomeranian, to the 220 lb. Mastiff, Suzy personalizes the session to meet the dog and the owners needs.

Suzy also does Pooch Boot Camp, where the dog comes and lives with her for 3 weeks, and then the owner gets 3 follow up session at the end, to learn everything their dog knows!
