Heidi’s is pretty good for being a chain, and usually tends to be fairly busy. They make fairly decent sandwiches, the only downside is that they sometimes get a longer line, because they’re one of a few close places to eat in the 1800 block of Lawrence. My favorite item is their breakfast burritos. They make one of the better ones that I’ve found in the area, and they’re always tasty. I usually get the sausage and it runs about $ 5 which isn’t bad because it’s a decent size burrito.

Bronx bomb was really good, especially if you pair the sandwich with marble rye. The chicken parm sandwich was terrible — I took two bites and threw it out. Coleslaw was a bit on the sweeter side. Overall I was impressed! Prices are reasonable as well.

Heidi’s is delicious!!! Love these guys. They make a ridiculously good Reuben.

The bread is cooked fresh every week, and the meat is also fresh and tasty! I personally enjoy the Cajun turkey sandwich, as well as the roast beef sandwich. This is a fantastic sandwich spot! Also, the owner of this deli is very nice and personable. I used to come here every day when I worked across the street.

I worked in this building and Heidi’s was always hopping busy, from early morning to early afternoon, tons of people stopping in for breakfast and lunch. We would call our orders in ahead of time so we did not have to wait in line(highly recommend). I was always happy with my sandwich and pickle and the staff was always incredibly nice, even for as slammed as they always were!

I went in for a late lunch today, and was a bit overwhelmed by the massive menu. The guy who made my sandwich was very helpful with recommendations, and ultimately made a Philly cheese steak on ciabatta. They don’t grill the meat and veggies like most Phillies, but it comes out tasting really delicious. It’s a bit out of my way, but next time I’m downtown and in the mood for a sandwich, I’ll visit Heidi’s again.

MICROWAVE they freakin microwaved the meat for a hot meat sandwich. Ding and lunch is ready. What a wasted of fresh baked bread.

Not sure why this place gets such bad reviews. I hadn’t been in years, but I stopped in the other day for my old favorite, the Hell’s Kitchen(a delicious combo of spicy egg salad, bacon and avocado between two super fresh slices of ciabatta bread). The staff was friendly, the service was speedy, and the sandwich was just as good as I remember it being. I’ll definitely be back!

I would give them a zero if I could. Their food is decent, but the service is horrendous. Incredibly rude, they let me stand there without letting me know that i couldn’t order bc they were having system issues. Whatever. They served the girl in front of me then didn’t say a word and ignored me.

Don’t call yourself a Brooklyn deli when you can’t get a Pastrami sandwich right. The marble rye bread is super dense, there were four slices of mediocre pastrami and you missed the coleslaw I ordered. Big disappointment. Can’t fool a New Yorker.

I’m a glutton for punishment, I guess… I kept coming back, but I’m done with this Heidi’s location(despite my deep love for their bread.) On my last visit, I opened my sandwich to rearrange the ingredients to find a HUGE black fly, still alive, clinging to the lettuce. Imagine what would have happened if I hadn’t opened that sandwich.

Great sandwiches but the worst customer service. For the most part, I get decent, fast service when I fax in lunch orders whether they be Delivery or To Go. But this place is packed during the lunch hour during the week so I made sure to give them a few hours notice. Today they’ve conveniently lost my faxed order and shrugged even after I showed them my fax confirmation. They told me that it would take 45 minutes to get 6 lunches together. I stood in the long line and had someone make it in 25 minutes. If they couldn’t make 6 lunches within 2 hours notice, a phone call to let me know would be nice. Considering that the company that I work for orders lunches from them all the time, you’d think an apology would be the least they could offer. There was none. Terrible, awful customer service.

The people behind the counter could be a little more helpful instead of pointing at literature when you ask a question and they could help people in order(like the ones who walk in together) rather randomly select who they THINK is next. Aside from that, the Breakfast Burrito that my love always gets and the option I had(Chicken Parmesan on Jalapeño Bagel) were pretty decent and reasonably priced too!

Heidi’s is a block up from the office and I was so excited to see bologna and also fresh baked pumpernickel! I just had to. The bologna was freshly sliced and the bread was absolutely delicious. A pretty fair amount of meat on there too. I returned the next day for a breakfast burrito which was delicious!!! Eggs, potato, cheese, bacon and green chili in a lovely tortilla. I’m good until lunch with the size of it! Overall I like Heidi’s — it’s a good representation of an East Coast deli; nowhere near as authentic but it will do.

Heidi’s sandwiches are very good, all made in locally made fresh bread and the staff is super super nice. Plenty of bread options from wheat, to hoagies to bagels, and options of cold and hot sandwiches as well as made to order. Their chicken salad and tuna salad are very good as well as any sandwich with their chipotle dressing. The bread is cut thick so ordering half a sandwich is more than plenty. I usually get my bread toasted first, for a half sandwich and it all comes with option of chips, coleslaw, potato salad or fruit. It’s just below $ 6 for a half sandwich with a side and they have a loyalty card for frequent visitors. As a bonus, if you go on Friday you get a free chocolate chip cookie.

Oooh, Heidi’s. I work near here, and It’s unfortunate that this is the only lunch place in the building, because it just insists on being so subpar. All the soups are frozen and everything else is, too it seems. I ordered a meatball sub and the response was«oh, sorry, we forgot to take the meatballs out of the freezer this morning.» I ordered a soup in place of it, and I was told they were out of it. I got a BLT out of desperation and it was slightly stale. I wish this place was cheaper, then maybe I’d tolerate it. But for the price, I would skip it if you can.

Had the Cajun turkey sandwich with avocado. The bread was mushy. The sandwich was bland and I couldn’t even taste the sliver of avocado that was put on my sandwich. It was a good portion that was provided… which was just more for me to throw out.(I did post a picture of this«sandwich»)

What I had? Hell’s Kitchen on Ciabatta(egg salad, bacon, swiss, avocado and cajun sauce, tomato, and lettuce), potato salad, and chocolate éclair. Food review: This spin on an egg salad sandwich is so good. There’s kind of two areas of this sandwich. First there’s the egg salad and bacon which is kind of like having breakfast. :-) Then there’s the avocado and cajun sauce which blend together nicely. Altogether, you get a really yummy egg salad sandwich. The potato salad is a little bit on the sweeter side which was ok but I’m not a big fan of sweeter potato salads. Finished off the meal with a chocolate éclair which was quite good. Nothing really bad to say about this yummy lunch. Service? No complaints Other thoughts: If it weren’t for the Hell’s Kitchen sandwich I might have given up on Heidi’s some time ago. Everything else I’ve had here has been so-so.

Can you say«Cajun Turkey Avocado on rye and don’t forget my cookie on Free Cookie Friday please»? This location gets pretty packed so we just have it delivered these days but I cannot get enough of Heidi’s. I must admit, so far, I always get the same sandwich. Mainly because they don’t have any meat substitute for the philly cheesesteak. I like mine with chicken and, many times, they end up only having the breaded chicken. Aside from that, I think the staff is pretty personable. Order taking over the phone is awesome. They even put the names on the sandwiches so people know exactly what is theirs when delivered. One day, I will successfully branch and fall in love with another specialty sandwich but, for now, I’ll still to my one and continue to enjoy Heidi’s.

The best thing about Heidi’s is the bread. Bread is important, and why I’ll never eat at a Quizno’s or Subway for the rest of my life. The worst: long lines for around two hours in the middle of every workday, crazy prices(mostly $ 8 and up) for simple sandwiches, poor produce and crappy limp pickles. I’ll throw in a staff that sneers at the people in line and screws up my orders 50% of the time. On a brighter note, the chocolate chip cookies are delicious and free on Fridays with a purchase. And the Hell’s Kitchen is a tasty sandwich you won’t find elsewhere. But another downer, I think it’s lame I have to pay extra for a real bag of chips. Haven’t had much luck with the breakfast burritos or bagel sandwiches here either… they are pretty big, though messy, pricey and greasy. I only stop here in the AM if I am extremely hungover. PS this is a dead giveaway to my boss. If I’m in dire straits and need to grab lunch during the day, I walk across the street to pay $ 5 for a similar sandwich at the Corporate Deli. The bread isn’t as great but the staff is SO nice here.
