Tried one more time as we heard they a new chef(cook?). Service was better, atmosphere-ok. Food — terrible. Goodbye again. Never again.

Food is bland at best, I’ve tried this place 4 times now each time it’s been worst. It’s way to bright to be a bar, it’s so loud in there you can not carry a conversation, and the wait staff seems to hang out with the regulars at the bar instead of taking care of the diners.

I’ve eaten here time and time again and have never had anything good — I only ever go if friends want to. Service is also bad each time I go. I’m continuously shocked to hear anyone bag about the food and I’m really not a tough critic!

Nice sports bar located in Denver side of Lake Norman. Good service as well as the food. Great place to eat and watch sports with friends.

Food was great. Music to loud, service a bit lax. I wouldn’t go out of my way but it’s a nice place for burgers, wings and beer.

Beer is cold. Wings are average. Wedge salad with Tuna is real good. And the beer is cold.

We went here because we had a groupon. It wasn’t worth the drive there. The food was average, at best. Definitely nothing that I would drive there again for. The service was terrible. We waited close to 45 minutes for our food. I had to flag down the waitress and ask for more water when I ran out… every single time. Between the average food and the subpar service, I would just as soon go somewhere else.

Great Tavern. We have been enjoying Joeys for the last few months since we got rid of cable and they put on the Hurricanes games for us. Everything we have tried from the steak salad to the fish tacos to the nachos to a few others was very good. And today, for the first time, grilled chicken wings. Amazing.

Never had problems here. Great service and great food! Love the wings, especially the garlic parmesan! And the Philly cheesesteak and sweet potato fries are awesome. Thumbs up to this restaurant!

I have given this place too many chances. I even bought the Groupon a while back and gave it one more chance, waste of money. I’ve been there 3 times in total and I wouldn’t go here again even if it was free. The food is edible, once you season it yourself. I have tried their pasta, fish, chicken, and appetizers, honestly they all taste the same. The food is not fresh and the service is even worse, it is also so loud you can’t hold a conversation. I wonder why their parking lot is always full, maybe Denver needs a good mid priced restaurant, they would do amazing compared to what they would be up against.

Great people, great food. The Acovski family and staff do a great job of bringing a local hangout with local flavor to Denver. Lunch or dinner, we’ve never had a bad experience other than everyone else finding our little secret spot.

I’m not usually a harsh critic, but I’ve spent enough time in the food industry, eating in a wide range of restaurants around the country and a fair amount of time in my own kitchen to know what constitutes«good» food. That being said, there is nothing even remotely good at Joeys. I wish I was wrong as I live just down the street and would frequent the place if the food wasn’t so downright pathetic. Lights too bright for a bar, subpar servers that give poor recommendations, lousy portion size and overall poor quality food. The«fresh» grilled vegetables are frozen and steamed. The fish tacos were a joke. The salad was miniscule and of the«out of a bag» variety. I can’t think of even one thing that hit the table that was even average. Like I said, not a hater or a harsh critic but this place is shockingly bad. In such a small town, you have to deliver more than this. I recommend walking next door to cessies pizza, driving north to Giovanni’s or savory plumb or south to Chillfire or Denver BBQ. Honestly those are much better choices — then again so is McDonalds.

For a local restaurant this place is not bad. I have eaten there at least three times maybe four and being new to the area I like to try everything at least a couple times before forming an opinion. Their French onion soup is very good, they have very good salads. I think my wife got a cheeseburger there recently that she really liked. I got to say I’ve never had a bad meal there so I would highly recommend this to people who have not tried it.

Getting in late tonight we decided to grab a bite relatively close by. Our nearest Groupon was to Joey’s so we decided to head on down and see what it was all about. It wasn’t anything fantastic yet wasn’t horrible. Joey’s is located in a strip mall area that seems to have a few other restaurants nearby. We decided to eat inside since the«outdoor area» consisted of two high top seats with some uncomfortable-looking stools. The interior is clearly a sports bar, with a huge bar area and tons of TVs. If you wanted somewhere to catch the game and a cold one, this would be a good bet. We were greeted and seated immediately and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The beers were $ 3.50 a pint which is about what I would expect to pay. They had a good selection with a few of the«craftier» name brands like Sams and Fat Tire. With beers in hand we perused the menu, which has what you would expect from a sports bar… apps, sandwiches and burgers. They do also have a decent selection of true entrees like steak, chicken, pasta and seafood. I went with the ribeye steak($ 18) and was a touch disappointed. The steak was cooked more medium well then the ordered medium rare, which led it to be tougher and chewier than a ribeye should be. It had a good charred taste to it but was covered in an olive oil(I think) /herb sauce that took away from the beef flavor, which was barely there to begin with. The steak came with«roasted red potatoes» but due to their microwaveness I’m pretty damn sure they were just frozen taters that were nuked. I decided to upgrade from the mixed veggies to the house salad and that was a good choice. The salad was a very big size for the $ 1 upcharge and had a mix of iceberg, a little romaine, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, croutons and shredded cheddar cheese. It was big enough for both the missus’ and me to munch on and I highly recommend subbing a side out for the salad if you get an entrée. The missus’ ordered the salmon($ 12) which was pretty lackluster. The salmon was smoothered in their cajun sauce, which was a very thick, creamy and spicy concoction that neither of us were really fans of. The salmon came with risotto which was not cooked well and was hard and crunchy, and her mixed veggies were definitely bland, frozen squash and broccoli pieces that were tossed in the microwave prior to serving. I like the concept of being able to go to a sports bar atmosphere and getting a rock star dinner… that’s a gastropub. Joeys is not a gastropub… the dinner entrees were all disappointing, and the lack of fresh sides is just deplorable for a restaurant that is presenting itself as an upscale bar. However, the service was good, the drinks were a good price, and the weekly specials did seem to have some promising value. I would never come back here for a true dinner, but if I was in the area and wanted to grab a beer and a burger I’d give them another shot.

We ate there for supper and had the prime rib Friday night special. The food was great and the service was the best I’ve ever had. We will be going back for sure.

A great place for a casual, very yummy lunch or dinner! Very unique appetizers and the chicken bites are so good. The wedge salad is great and the french onion soup tastes like it’s been cooking all day. Very family friendly and tv’s everyone so you can watch the game or the race. Definitely recommend this place!
