I, too, found JudeLaw to be unprofessional. During one of our meetings, Mr. Jude commented about how my name clearly belonged to a black woman. After my bankruptcy was filed, I asked for copies of the document. He emailed them to me. I told him that I needed paper copies. I informed him that I never authorized him to send my documents electronically. He told me to go out and get a printer. He is a smug, arrogant guy.

Michael and his team are fantastic! They handled my case (s) with little to no stress on my end and for a very reasonable fee. Mind you my cases were a few years ago so I’m not in a bubble of «wow» waiting for the bottom to drop out, they are closed and I have had no negative issues resulting from either case that Michael handled for me.

This was absolutely the worst experience ever. It’s stressful enough to have to consider filing bankruptcy, but then to have the first person I met when I sat down tell me my husband needs to better manage his schedule if he’s going to go through the process, I though was exceptionally rude and presumptuous. This was supposed to be a consultation not a commitment so I didn’t feel my husband needed to be there. And I’m certainly glad he wasn’t because it would have been a total waste of his time.
Next, when I was pawned off to «the guy in the back», he first told me «you make a lot of money» which implied to me that I had no reason to be filing since I made that kind of money. He kept saying negative terms like, «I won’t even consider», «I will not», etc…“not until you pay me”. Right off the cuff, I felt like it was about him making money and not helping his potential client.
There is also a lot of «homework» as they called it, and all this guy wanted to see was my paystubs, so in my mind the weeks long homework assignment was a complete waste of time. I tried to reason with him or at least get a better understanding of my options and situation before making a committment, but he said he wouldn’t go any further without being paid first.
The $ 500 or $ 0 retainer on their website is for the destitute so don’t even consider asking. The retainer I was quoted was $ 800 and that was just to decide if I «qualified» for bankruptcy, but I’m sure the guy was going to ask for much more during the process, so there’s no telling how much it would have cost me in the end.
Oh…and did I mention the massive parrot that was perched obove my head without a cage? There was bird poop all over the floor that I had to walk through to get to this guy’s desk. However, the lady was kind enough to position my chair so the bird didn’t crap on my head.
Well, I left in a huff feeling bullied and small. I guess in the end the joke is on Jude Law LLC. because at the end of the day, instead of giving $ 800 to this joker, I am willingly spending $ 2000 on a retainer for an attorney that treats their clients with the dignity they deserve. Save yourself the time, do your research and avoid this place like the plague.

Trust me, Jude Law is awesome! Michael Jude is the Man! He is a very down to earth good guy that goes into your case very well prepared and will always get back to you if you have questions!
Do yourself a favor and don’t risk something this important on a hack and trust me, there are plenty of them out there; I seen at least two when I had my bankruptcy hearing and I was very happy that I had made the right choice!
