This review is a year late, but better late than never, I suppose. I was a student at Anschutz campus and had a old Subaru Forester. I bought it right before joining school, so Kevin was the only mechanic who ever worked on it. He’s done everything to keep my old car running and he always explained what was wrong with my car before fixing it. I never had any issues with anything he did. I have recommended my friends to come see this shop and they have nothing but great things to say about Kevin and his team. I’ve since moved across the country, and sold my Subaru. The man who bought my car looked at my records for the work on the car told me that the prices I was charged was very fair. I didn’t have any doubts about that, but it was still great to hear.

Update: I finally got my car back from this corrupt business… And you’ll never guess what happened! They didn’t even do the 150K mile tune up that we requested!!! He claims that we called him and told him not to do it! Are you freaking kidding me!?! Why would we call a repair shop that has had our car for THREE days to tell them not to do the work that we’ve been waiting 3 days to get done??? What a joke! When I expressed my frustration that the work that we hired him for wasn’t even done he said «Yep. You’re right. I haven’t done anything. You can go.» And made a gesture with his hand as if to dismiss me from his presence. Wow!

Summary: Kevin was very knowledgeable about my issues and fixed my car correctly for much less than I was charged elsewhere. He took time to explain everything and spoke to me like a real, honest person, instead of that fake customer service smile and high pitched voice you’ll get from people who don’t really care. I’m trusting all my automotive needs to Kevin’s going forward.
Long version:
Last summer the clutch went out on my 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i. For five years I’ve driven the car with a clutch that operated pretty smoothly. I took it to my regular place (Pride on Dry Creek) and when I got it back, the pedal operation was very janky. After a couple weeks it loosened a bit, but I noticed two major problems. 1) the pedal got much tighter as the car warmed up, 2) when warm, putting it into 1^st gear produced a rattling that sometimes vibrated the whole car.
I took it back and Pride said the flywheel was already chewed up, and they’d put a replacement kit (the same Perfection clutch kit) in at no charge. This after only a couple months of use. Fine. So after this I’m still getting the same issues. I call back and Pride says I need to have a U-​joint replaced on the drive shaft. That’s another $ 500 they say. Well, that didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but I decided to give them another shot, since they’ve been accomodating for a few years of regular service.
I get the car back and still having the same issues, just less pronounced. At this point, I take it back twice to have them test drive it, to show how the clutch works and the difference between cold and hot operation. The main guy, Chris, brushes me off. So, at this point, I know Pride is simply avoiding the issue and if I want my car working correctly, I’m gonna have to go somewhere else. I choose Kevin’s, based on Unilocal.I made the correct decision.
I was thinking of trying a Subaru specialty shop, but have had meh service from one of them in the past, so I called Kevin. We talked about specifics, and it was clear Kevin understood how to get this resolved. He explained that Perfection kits don’t work well with Subarus and offered to put in a higher quality kit. I also needed an oil change, tire rotation, and my left front blinker looked at. Kevin quoted me less for all these services than Pride charged for ONLY the clutch replacement.
I ended up leaving my car at Kevin’s for four days, which is a bit longer than other places. But his shop looked pretty crowded and busy (confirmed from other Unilocal reviews), so I didn’t mind. When I picked up the car, Kevin let me have my old clutch parts and showed my the damaged sections, so I could take them back to Pride. Driving: I’m happy to say the new clutch works as smooth as butter! There is no vibration going into 1^st and it works just as good cold or hot; basically they fixed it correctly the first time. Kevin’s cleaned the corrosion from my left blinker connector, which solved problem #2. They also successfully rotated the tires; I had marked the left rear as a precaution and checked that it had, in fact, been moved ;) I also got my oil change sticker on my windshield, and could smell the fresh oil from my Boxer engine after parking at home. (Subaru Boxer engines tend to leak a bit of oil, especially after first fill, so this is expected).
I’m almost to 100K miles and will be giving Kevin’s my business again very soon.

Yes all these great reviews are all true! Kevin is a very very classy guy and runs a great business. Go there with any auto problem and Kevin will do a great job of taking care of you. I had a few issues with my van’s brakes and steering and was taken really great care of. Very honest and at a very fair price. These mechanics know their stuff and do really amazing work and don’t try to cheat you. Highly highly recommend!!!

When anyone has a car issue, I recommend Kevin every time. My dad and brother takes their cars to him as well. The bad review by Tess. C was not fair to Kevin, who takes customer service very seriously. Her review was unprofessional and her points were clearly ignorant of costs associated with tire disposal and brake replacements. I have seen an irate customer take out their personal problems with Kevin, blaming Kevin for his car being too old, and Kevin handled the situation patiently and professionally. Please don’t let the review from Tess. C smear Kevin’s professionalism and quality work.

Great service from a great group of guys. I brought my vehicle in to diagnose a couple of noises. Not only did they take a quick listen but diagnosed another few potential problems for me.
Affordable rates, and great service is what I look for in a repair shop. I am blown away by the customer service, and the whole time I felt attended to and assured.

I’ve moved around a lot and finding a good mechanic is always a challenge. Fortunately all the Google and Unilocal reviews are spot on for Kevin’s Automotive Services. I called Kevin on Wednesday and he fit me in on Thursday morning. I came in for an oil change and a rattling noise from the engine. He checked everything and said it looked fine and just charged for the oil change which was a very reasonable price. I’ll be taking my cars here from now on.

I had been searching and searching for a place to mount and balance my tires. I just recently moved here so this place had good Unilocal reviews and I thought it would be alright. Also I don’t get off work until 5 and they are open until 5:30 so I would have enough time to drop it off right before they closed. So I go in one night and tell him I need my tires mounted and balanced and to just look at the brake pads and see how much life they have left. He quoted me around $ 75 and I said okay that’s fine.
The next day I go to pick it up and the invoice says $ 129 and he tries to explain he had to «clean and adjust» the rear brakes and charged me $ 51!!! Really?! That wasn’t even what I had asked him to do. And then to fix it the only thing he does is try to give me a free oil change which I had just had done a couple days before. So thanks for nothing. Then to make matters worse I go to get in my car and check the tire pressure and they are all at different levels of psi and way too high. So I go back inside and say can you fix this and he has his guy take my car and then came back out and I checked it again and it still wasn’t right and he said those gauges read wrong I have one at home on my truck and it doesn’t work. And I was like whatever. I have a handheld gauge that reads right so I know the tires weren’t correct. I feel like I got really ripped off with a half ass job. Don’t go to this place unless you want to be taken advantage of and feel uncomfortable. Oh and they are not open on Saturdays either.
January 7 2016 update:
I received a call and voicemail from Kevin yesterday asking to discuss my complaint. Everything in Kevin’s reply just reiterated my complaints. The hours posted on Unilocal say until 5:30 M-​F and I brought my car in before 5:30 So he was not doing me a favor by staying open until the hours posted. It also says on Unilocal there are hours Saturday on 9 – 2 which is also false and needs to be changed because I did see on the door when I got there that it was appointment only. So maybe he needs to update his hours on Unilocal.Also I checked the tire pressure with a handheld gauge not just the tire pressure monitor and every single tire was a different psi. He did not include in the quote anything about the brakes and all I asked him to do was check the front brake pads not anything to do with the rear because I was having no issues with the brakes just was curious about the life of the brake pads. So that was all his own call to clean and adjust the rear brakes and then charge me an extra $ 50 for that. And also if you read his review it only reinstates the «bullying» of a young woman by making it seem like I am wrong rather than trying to please a customer and not take advantage of them. he also stated was doing me a «favor» by not charging me a tire disposal fee. It’s the law in Colorado to charge a disposal fee so that was all on him. He never once asked me until I came to pick up the car if I wanted the tires disposed of or not.
I’m not saying Kevin’s is a bad place with less than par work, but maybe not the best for a young woman to go. I’m sure he would have given a man a fair deal.

I had been experiencing brake issues and a strange burning smell from my older truck, but I needed to find a mechanic in town I could trust. I’d used two other auto care places in town and been ripped off by both. Not wanting to give what could potentially be a large sum of money and time to a business that had already proven undeserving, I opened Unilocal,read about multiple places, and found Kevin’s Automotive Services.
Kevin’s not having a single bad review kind of made me skeptical. I thought «Just how many friends does this guy have who are willing to put nothing but glowing remarks on Unilocal for him?». It made me pause, but then I read several of the reviews and then my curiosity piqued.
Honestly, what changed my mind to go ahead and try his shop was how close it was to my home (so if I had to I could walk to get my truck), and that it wasn’t part of a nationwide chain. I also figured we would just start with a diagnostic, and if I didn’t like how he handled that I could just continue looking for another shop.
I called Kevin this past Saturday (¹¹⁄₃₀) afternoon and spoke directly to him. He was very professional and listened to what I had to say instead of rushing me off the phone. He scheduled my truck for a diagnostic the following Monday (¹²⁄₁) morning.
Arriving Monday morning there were a good handful of people waiting to drop off vehicles with various issues, and Kevin was behind the desk taking care of each one. He was courteous, patient and despite it being busy — never rushed. He was attentive and spent the time necessary to address each customer accordingly. He checked my truck in, listened to my list of problems, and told me I would know in a few hours what he found. A few hours later he did let me know. I needed new front rotors and pads, new rear drums and shoes, and the rack and pinion system needed to be replaced. What he described fell in line with what I had been experiencing. It was more work than I had hoped, but what he was going to charge to have it all replaced was so affordable he had my dad wishing Kevin’s shop was in Colorado Springs. He was given the go to do the work.
He was never wishy washy, and that’s a relief. He told me what he found and exactly how much it would cost. When I asked to keep the old rack and pinion, he didn’t hesitate to fulfill that request. When I asked for an estimate on how long it would take to repair, he said he could have it to me the evening of the next day and that’s exactly when I got it back.
My truck is performing like it’s about 10 years younger. I don’t just feel safer driving it, I know I am safer in it. It’s like night and day.
It’s always good to find an honest professional who takes pride in good results, and who isn’t wasting time, our money or risking our safety just to make a quick buck. If you need something as simple as an oil change or as big as a steering box replacement, I highly recommend you give Kevin a call.

I was on vacation, but needed to replace my brakes for added reassurance in high elevation driving conditions.
Kevin got me right in. He replaced my Honda Ridgeline pads and rotors with the OEM parts as I requested in a polite, professional, efficient, cost effective, and timely matter.

The reviews here are no fluke. Kevin is a busy man but he will get you taken care of. He completed routine maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations on our Subaru and F 150. He got both finished on a Saturday. The prices are unreal. I had to check my receipt and make sure I had my bill right. I don’t know how he does quality work so cheap but he does. I would go back.

Kevin replaced my alternator; 250 dollars less than his competitors. I won’t go anywhere else. The used alternator he had ordered didn’t come in on time, so he gave me a brand new one at no extra cost.

Kevin came in several hundred dollars under other quotes I received from other mechanics. He fixed my clutch, which has never felt smoother! Thanks Kevin!

Kevin’s Automotive Services provides excellent car repair at very fair and reasonable prices. I have been taking my 2009 Subaru into the dealership and have been paying at least 50% more for the same service that Kevin provides. In addition, Kevin correctly diagnosed a problem on my 2002 Subaru which the dealership missed. I will continue to take my cars to Kevin’s and referring my friends.

I was out one day driving my car I had just received as a gift. I had been fixing it up all day already getting the interior cleaned and getting parts for the engine when my car had overheated. I was headed to Bob’s auto but because they didn’t answer I had to figure out what i would do next so I did a quick Unilocal search and I seen Kevin’s auto services with 36 reviews abd everyone of the reviews had 5 stars! I had to go! I called him and he said to bring it in. As soon as I spoke to Kevin I knew he was a very honest man. I needed a new thermostat and oxygen sensors and a gasket and out would have cost me more to do it on my own! I have some extra work to complete on this car but I’m definitely taking it back to Kevin’s where the price is fair and the service is great.

One of the hardest things to do is to find an honest, fair mechanic when moving to a new town. I moved from Tucson to Aurora 3 years ago and I have found an honest, trustworthy mechanic in Kevin.

Kevin is awesome! I made several calls for quotes on a timing belt replacement. I was receiving different prices and different ideas on what should/​needed to be replaced. After reading Kevin’s reviews on Unilocal,I gave him a call and immediately felt comfortable as he knew right off the bat exactly what needed to be done. His price was more than fair and he got my car in within the week. He has definitely helped me out with a few additional car issues and I am so thankful to have found someone that I trust.

You know that feeling when you talk to a mechanic, ask for a quote on car services and then feel like sick in the stomach because you know you got duped but can’t do much about it since time is of the essence? You don’t have to feel that way anymore thanks to Kevin. He provides excellent service at reasonable cost and will not charge you a penny more than what the services are worth. I was agreeably surprised when I took my car in once, got a quote and then came to pick it up after the repair only to find out that some of the initial parts weren’t needed. This reduced the total parts’ cost and the hours needed to put it all together. It just doesn’t get any better than that. I will always take my car to Kevin’s as long as he has a shop and I live in Colorado and you should too. This guy is the real deal. Period!

Kevin did a great job fixing my car and his rates are really decent. I’ve had other mechanics quote high part costs and high labor costs, but Kevin’s rates and prices were honest and reasonable.

Kevin was efficient and respected our time frame. He diagnosed and repaired faulty wiring and pins for our Saab’s front headlights. He charged us a fair price. We are taking this car back for more of Kevin’s expert care this next week!

Kevin is the best! If you are looking for an honest person that you can trust, than look no further. I am a repeat customer and will be as long as he has a shop.

Kevin continues to come through with his friendly helpfulness and great mechanical knowledge. I went to look at a Jeep Liberty and asked Kevin if he could do an inspection for me if I decided I wanted to buy it. He was willing to get in me in same day and make sure I didn’t buy a bad car. Sadly, the engine was in very poor condition and did not require a look over. Thankfully Kevin would have been there to provide his guidance if I had needed it.

Another five-​star review for Kevin’s! Return visit because my engine light came on after picking my car up. Even though the issue was not related to the original problem, Kevin fixed the other issues for no charge! I’m definitely sold on Kevin’s being our family garage. Highly recommend this place for reliable and affordable service.

Great experience today!
My car started wonking out yesterday, so today (Saturday), I started looking for a mechanic nearby who was actually open and who wouldn’t try to charge me for unnecessary repairs (as a single female, this is hard to find in a mechanic).
When I called, Kevin himself answered. He said they close at 2, but asked me to describe the symptoms. I did, and he said if I brought it in by noon, he’d do the diagnostic testing for free, and thought that he would likely be able to get it fixed today.
So I brought it in, and sure enough, he got it done – replaced the ignition coil and spark plugs – at a super reasonable price, in less than two hours, and on a Saturday without an appointment. So impressive!
And the other folks in the waiting room were having a similar experience – we started chatting, and they all had really great things to say about Kevin’s. I am so pleased with my experience and will totally go back again!

Definitely take your car to Kevin’s! Totally reasonable prices and honest service! I will be using this place from now on. Have only been here once and the experience was great! I’m a female and it’s hard to find a mechanic who will not take advantage of the lack of automotive knowledge some of us have.
My car was idling fast, the cause determined was a faulty IAC valve. Had them do an oil change while it was there. $ 196 total, I’m sure it would have been double that at a dealership or a chain auto repair shop. Go here instead!

I’m super happy that I found Kevin’s via Craigslist, which lead me to Unilocal,and now I’ve confirmed what I seen on Unilocal is true!
The check engine light turned on in my Honda. After getting the OBD codes from Autozone and an intense google session, I was pretty sure it was something I could handle myself, but I still wanted to get it checked by a pro. Kevin told me that the problem was what I expected and answered other questions I had at no charge! (I am very grateful as I’m new to CO and still jobless). I will definitely come back to Kevin’s in the future because he really helped me out. THANKS :)
