Truly the best option in Denver! Dr. Bateman has done several breast reconstructions for friends and family. As I have stood in on many sessions with family members I can say that not only does he have great results. He took the time to explain all of the options with the pros and cons. Making sure that all questions the patient may have was answered and concerns were addressed. I cannot thank him and his office staff enough for their professionalism and willingness to keep things lighthearted enough during a time that every smile counts. Dr. Bateman is the best! I had a three stage breast reconstruction after a bilateral mastectomy in 2012.
For those unfamiliar with what that entails, it’s kind of a lot. Stage 1 involves putting in expanders underneath your pectoral muscles. Over the course of several months (after the initial surgery) you go in to the office to get your expanders injected with saline. The purpose of this is to stretch the muscle so that an implant will eventually fit underneath and voila! Boobs!
Stage 2 reconstruction is the swap from expanders to implants. Pretty self-​explanatory.
My last surgery was nipple reconstruction, where they took skin from my abdomen to recreate nipples and areolas.
Dr. Bateman and his team were amazing throughout this process, which took about a year and a half for me. I was able to call him at odd hours and always felt like he was looking out for my best interest, not his bottom line. I am extremely happy with the results of my reconstruction and am able to feel confident even when I wear a bathing suit. Thank you so very much Dr. Bateman!
