History

Established in 2005.

Photography has been in my blood since childhood, but it wasn’t until the stars aligned and I found myself driving across the country from Boston to Colorado that wedding photography found me. I have studied Fine Art Photography at Emerson College and the New England School of Photography. I’ve photographed cities around the world, society events, night life, news events and people of all types, but my heart lies in documenting the real life love stories of everyday people like you.

I’ve lived in Pennsylvania, Boston, the Netherlands, North Carolina and now Denver, Colorado. I received my first camera (a bumble bee colored SLR from KidsR’Us) in Kindergarten and have been capturing the world through my lens ever since! I love dogs, traveling, love stories, lens flare, the setting sun, a fabulous meal, micro brew beer, my family and a good old vine Zin.

Kristy is amazing! She might as well add Wedding Planner to her resume because she was SOOO helpful in planning our wedding in Colorado from Georgia. She recommended the officiant, non-​traditional desserts, and tons of restaurants for our planning and wedding stays. She is funny and charming and our whole family was disappointed when she left for the evening. We warned her that we are awkward and not good at pictures but she put us at ease right away and caught some truly romantic and (important to me) funny moments of our day. She was also more than willing to work with us on pricing and timing since we were having a small wedding on a week day. I can’t say enough good things about her!

Kristy is flat out incredible! We were so fortunate to cross paths and I couldn’t be more grateful! We had a small and intimate wedding but wanted to be sure our special day was captured and Kristy did this perfectly. Every picture represented exactly what we wanted our wedding to represent. She understood what we wanted perfectly and executed perfectly. Aside from being an incredibly talented and creative photographer — she is just the sweetest. She directed everyone with such charm and kindness that it never felt like the focus was pictures — yet she made everyone feel so special and included. Every guest at our wedding commented on how sweet she is and I believe my stepson may have even developed a little crush! Kristy is flexible and thoughtful and is very responsive and engaged. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our special day. We look forward to Kristy capturing all of our family’s adventures going forward! My husband hates getting his picture taken. He dreads it. He scoffs. He can’t wait for it to be over.
So, leading up to our wedding, I let Kristy Rowe, our photographer, know all about my then fiancé’s fear of the camera.
On our wedding day, Kristy totally worked her magic. We had decided to do photos before the ceremony (which I would reccomend to any couple!). We had an hour until most of the guests would arrive, and we hopped in golf carts and drove all over the country club’s grounds. Kristy snapped picture after picture. We did casual and posed, a variety of different things.
Kristy is fun, easy going, professional, organized and just takes amazing pictures. (full disclosure: i went to college with Kristy, so I’ve been a fan of her work for a long time, and I knew she’d be a great person to hire for our wedding)
In that hour, Kristy worked through all the wedding party and family photos like clockwork. There was never a lull or dull moment. But really, the true test of her skill was when we were done. «That’s it?» my husband said, seeming surprised that an hour had gone by and we hit all the photos on our list.
If Kristy can my husband feel that comfortable taking pictures, well, then she’ll be a great choice for any one else.

My wife and I weren’t looking for the big blowout wedding. We were keeping it small and intimate (we did it in our backyard) and were looking for someone who could help us make it uniquely ours.
After our first meeting with Kristy at a nearby coffee shop, we knew we had to have her as our photographer. She’s not only an amazingly easy person to talk to (and like), but her work blew us away. She seemed to get us and all of our crazy wedding ideas right from the start. After seeing the photos from the engagement session with her, there was no doubt we made a great choice.
Kristy is great to work with, has a wonderful, laid-​back personality that will make you instantly comfortable, and gave us the kind of photos we never thought (imagined) we’d be able to afford. Book her now!

When I first discovered that getting married meant spending a fortune in order to hire a professional photographer, I was distraught. I scoured the internet looking for people to photograph our day. I soon discovered that the people we could afford to hire were either overly-​serious National Geographic wannabes or people who were seemingly fired from Glamor Shots. When I came across Moodeous Photography, I was floored by the quality, and especially by the value. After meeting Kristy at our engagement photography session, things only got better. Kristy is an amazing photographer, not only in the technical sense, but also in the sense that she is down to earth and easy to work with. By meeting Kristy, my whole opinion of photography has changed. I used to think that a photo is a photo. Now I know that some photographers are certainly a cut above the rest. Kristy is one of these «cut above» photographers. Not only did she convince me of the value of a great wedding photographer, she has gained my photography business in the future as well. Kristy Rowe does beautiful work! My fiancée and I searched for an engagement photographer whose motto was about the ability to «capture life in true beauty;» in other words, photography is Kristy’s art form. A friend of mine recommended her as a viable option since Kristy shot her wedding as well. When the day of our session came, Kyle (my fiancée) and I were thrilled and waiting in anticipation for what the day would bring. She found numerous backdrops for us including a pale blue door in the alleys of Pearl St, in Boulder as well as the mountains at the gorgeous Chataqua Park… She is a very versatile photographer and was able to shoot amazing, candid moments. Our portrait session was all about showing how «in love» we were and Kristy captured us so well. I would highly recommend her for anyone in need of an engagement/​wedding/​lifestyle photographer. We are so pleased with the results! I hear she is even willing to travel :-)

There’s a lot to go into picking a wedding photographer and if you’ve found Moodeous you can stop looking.
Kristy Rowe is one of the few photographers that has a true artistic eye. You don’t want someone that puts you in a pose and lets that do the speaking. Kristy understands that it is the culmination of all aspects of the picture that ties it all together and turns what I would call a «stock photo» from a random photographer into a great photo that you’ll be proud to display.
The technical aspects are top notch, all of our pictures are developed with superior quality. Many photographers use lesser standards where you may as well have gone to a Kodak kiosk at Wal-​Mart. Not true with her. I am fantastically surprised each time I look at the photos.
Without reservations I will ALWAYS recommend Moodeous Photography to anyone that wants to capture their unique moments with artistry and clarity.
