Specialties
Mount Saint Vincent is a 501©3 charitable organization that provides clinical treatment and nurturing care for abused, neglected, and traumatized children aged 5 to 12.
Our highly trained staff employ the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), a treatment model developed by world-renowned child trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry. Mount Saint Vincent was recently named an NMT flagship site by Dr. Perry’s ChildTrauma Academy, making the agency one of only four such sites in the world.
History
Established in 1883.
Mount Saint Vincent was originally established as an orphanage by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Kansas. In the late 1960s, orphanages were phased out in favor of the foster care system. Mount Saint Vincent transitioned into a residential treatment center for abused and neglected children in 1969.
