Absolutely love this place… food is awesome and the service is great, each time I have been there they make you feel right at home, not to mention the owner will greet you by name once he knows you so you don’t feel like just a customer… I would recommend the pancakes, green chilli, The burgers, chilli cheese fries, menudo, posole lol I can go on and on… definitely a thumbs up from me

Always wanted to try this place since it’s been in the neighborhood for so long. We finally went in yesterday. The food was ok, but the our waitress was horrible. Happy I finally stopped in to check it out, but I won’t be rushing to get back to this place.

This place is great. About three Sundays a month I call in my breakfast it’s always right its always good its always hot the owner take the time to say hi and talk to you and get to know the people who are coming in his restaurant and the place is awesome and the food is great

My favorite breakfast place in Colorado! We go every Sunday. Every time we’ve tried other breakfast places we’ve been so disappointed. Me, my husband and my mom look at each other and say ‘we should have went to Peppers’. We live close by but when we move we’ll always make a trip to our favorite spot.

This place obviously used to be at Village Inn. And it hasn’t changed much since then. However the food is great. If you’re just looking for a quick bite to eat I recommend it.

Despite today being one of the busiest I have ever seen at this restaurant, the service was courteous and well worth the wait. My husband had the Italiano skillet, and I had the Sunrise breakfast platter. Good food! Good service!

My «waffle sandwich» came as a deconstructed, quarter-​inch thick waffle with one of thin sausage patty and a single egg. I had to assemble the whole disgusting thing with my hands, WTF.
The carpet also hadn’t been changed since 1992. Seriously, look at the floor near the register. P gross. Service was good overall.
If you’re looking for better diner fare, Yannas Café is about a mile away on Sheridan between First and Alameda.

Great Pancakes and great service, haven’t had dinner items but breakfast items never disappoint.

It would be a 5 if the ambiance was better. The food was awesome. I am making this a go to spot!

I’ve been going to peppers for years as I live about 2 blocks away from them. Today has changed my mind about being a customer there. I ordered some food to go, get home and my chorizo was still raw the eggs were not cooked and my order of green chili cheese fries was so small I can’t believe I paid 7 dollars for about 20 fries. I would definitely recommend eating in instead of taking out.

Good stuff! Feels like a village inn (ambiance wise) but you can tell this place has been around for awhile. I had the Greek platter. Plenty leftover for lunch. The potato’s were amazing! He had the t bone with mashed potatoes and corn. He was pleasantly pleased. I will be back! George greeted us at the door and the server was attentive without being overbearing.

Peppers is exactly the sort of restaurant that you can walk into and just feel at home. There is absolutely nothing original or out of the ordinary about Peppers (which, at times, can be a good thing). This is your typical ‘breakfast/​burgers/​Mexican/​Greek’ type of a place. I have a personal rule that I don’t eat Mexican food at any sort of restaurant that is not primarily focused on Mexican food (which would include Peppers), but I can vouch for the other ‘categories’ of food, and have never had a bad meal. My personal favourite is the Greek skillet, although I’ve also had good sandwiches, burgers, and other breakfasts.
If you get a chance to talk to the owner (I believe his name is George, but can’t remember for sure) you should not pass up the chance. «George» is a brilliant, friendly, and funny guy who seems always willing to regale a customer with great stories.

Did not meet George at the door this morning. I had the Breakfast special — Big Country Breakfast — scrambled eggs on top of bacon on top of biscuits smothered in sausage gravy with hash browns. The two slices of bacon were unimpressive as were the NOT home made biscuits and most rather bland sausage gravy. My brother had pork chop breakfast with very dry chops. The GF had the Viva Mexico skillet which she enjoyed with the side of green chile added. The chile was just OK. Liked the salsa that came out with the tortillas. I will give it another chance in the future and re-​review as I would like to like this place more…

Hands down, best pancakes & waffles I’ve had in a long time. I love the variety of the menu, from Mexican, Greek to American and you can order breakfast all day long. The pricing point makes this place even better, it’s incredibly reasonable for great food.
The best part? George and his staff. Everyone there is incredibly friendly!
We’ll be back again and again…

On my first visit to Denver, Colorado from North Carolina I was told I must go to Peppers. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 9 years and judge a restaurant not only by the quality of the food served but the customer service aspect as well. Upon entering the diner, I was given a warm welcome by the owner George and I was well taken care of by the rest of Pepper’s staff who were extremely friendly, prompt, and made sure I was doing well and that the food I ordered was to my liking.
As for the menu, it was very eclectic with ample choices to choose from and satisfy your cravings. I LOVED the pancakes, tamales, and green chili which I have never had the chance to try living on the east coast. I highly recommend you stop by the diner if you happen to be in the Denver area. I liked it so much I made sure to make it my last stop before heading to the airport to return to NC.

They claim the best pancakes in Denver, and they ain’t lyin! I think they even had a write-​up from the Westword years ago claiming such.

Two things that stand out to me:
1. The restaurant has a huge menu and I’m sure they’ll make you anything not on there, but the famous Denver Toro Pots, Sandwich creations, and breakfast options are among the best. It deserves mentioning that the Mexican is fantastic here and doesn’t come with the price-​tag that is usually associated with restaurants labeled as «Mexican.» Being that it is so eclectic, ranging from Greek to Italian to American to Mexican and back, it always suits everyone I bring in perfectly cause everyone can get what they want!
2. Friendliest staff of all times, beginning with the manager, George. George has 5 kids, speaks a gazillion foreign languages (serious, test him) and is the kind of manager that is genuinely curious to understand who you are as a person instead of simply seeing you as a thing that pays the bills – like the way you would be treated in a gas-​station or something. Nobody at Peppers is ever like that.

This place is great! From great gyros to a piece of pie with orchata this place really has it all. The service is great too. Great lil diner george!

I have been eating at this place nearly my whole life. (As a kid probably once a month, and now anytime I go back to Denver) The food is good; not great. The green chile is not the best in town, but smothered on a ham and cheese omelette; it’s pretty tasty.
Expect it to be like a chain diner, but with a locally owned flair. And yes, the owner is a very nice man.
If you read Diane’s review; I believe the building actually was a Village Inn. The original Peppers was across the street (you can see it from the windows; it is now a beautician school) and was called The Breakfast Prince.
Ahhh, I miss those days, when it was just a super-​packed greasy spoon, but that’s progress…

Surprisingly bland. Imagine a Village Inn with a few mexican items on the menu. And the mexican was done about as well as Village Inn would have done it. The green chili was mildly spicy but it was just chunks of pork and broth — no substance. The hashbrowns tasted boiled, not fried. Owner George was nice enough, but the waitresses could hardly be bothered. Sorry to disagree so heartily Michelle.
