Best Phở in Denver. This is my go-to Phở place. The waiters are very amigable and the food is great!

Best vegetarian Phở I have ever eaten. Got a sense that our waiter couldn’t wait for us to leave soon enough. Service wasnt great, but the food was.

We really wanted phở one night, but it was past«dinner hour» so we weren’t sure if we would find a place that was open later. Phở 96 came up on our search and we chose to eat there. This was actually my first time trying phở, my boyfriend had been trying to convince me for a couple months to try it and WOW am I impressed with this place! I always get the veggie broth with tofu, I think it’s phở chay. It’s so incredible, best in Denver! The customer service is always amazing, the food and boba drinks are affordable and delicious. I really like the décor and atmosphere too. I haven’t even bothered to try another phở place because this one is so good. Keep it up Phở 96!

I’m from Houston, where the viet food is awesome. But this place reminds me of home. Love it. Best place in federal

The filet mignon phở was decent. The combination cold noodle bowl was excellent! Egg rolls were great too. Will come again. Oh and make sure you get the Vietnamese coffee. So good!

Picked this place because of the great reviews and I’m glad we researched it ahead of time. There was a phở restaurant every 50 feet in this part of town! If we weren’t looking for this particular one, we would of picked one with better parking. Parking lot was packed, and it’s designed horribly! We were welcomed right away on a busy Friday night. The place was packed! We ordered the big appetizer platter to start. It was huge! 3 of us could of easily split just that and skipped the main dish and been very satisfied. It comes with rice sheets, veggies and a ton of grilled steak, chicken and shrimp. You dip your rice paper in the hot water they bring, then fill with the very big variety of fillings and roll. The dipping sauce for the spring rolls was AMAZING! So tasty! We all ordered medium phở bowls. Again, very large portions. All of the normal accoutrements for phở were very fresh and plentiful. The broth was very good. We preferred this broth to other establishments who are too heavy handed with the ginger. This was just the right amount. Even though the part of town this place is in is less than desirable, we’ll be back! Great, great service and excellent food!

What is everyone talking about here? My egg rolls were burnt. Like black, soup was not seasoned. Shrimp was blackened burnt. I thought I was ordering regular shrimp. No filter for tea so it was everywhere. I wouldn’t call this real Phở

Denver has a reputation for great Phở with a wild assortment of numbers on it. I only had the chance to try 96 on the recommendation of a friend and I’ll stand by his choice. The standout here is the soup base for the Phở. It is a very clean and clear broth that packs a deep and complex meat flavor. The critical part for me is that this tastes… fresh… and not like a flavor enhanced shortcut broth. The attractiveness of this broth is in the ability to taste all the flavors behind the broth — the onions, the meat, etc. I daresay this is the freshest phở broth I have tasted in a while. Another tip — these bowls are fairly big, so be honest with yourself about how much food you are eating. If you have a group, try the mixed springroll platter. All the marinated meats are delicious here and it’s a lot of fun to make your own spring rolls. Unfortunately, the platter is quite big, so having 4 – 5 people to share would be encouraged.

Hmmm. Was it the worst phở that I’ve had? Nope. Was the broth so subtle that it ran the risk of being bland and invisible? Yup, that’s it. The steak, though, is quite tasty — rife with strong meat flavor. The grilled shrimp spring rolls were flavorful, though the shrimp was far from delicate. Service was good. Interior is fine. But overall, I’ll be going over one block to Phở 95. Or to Phonatic in cap hill.

Had pho555 the other day, then I went to try this place. I told my self to get a small but I end up getting a medium. Tons of meat and tons of noodle, once again I could not finsh the bowl. Service was typical. Food was good. Also the price is right.

Flavorful broth with plenty of meat and noodles for under $ 10. What’s not to love? I really enjoyed my brisket phở from Phở 96 and the service was great. Phở places are never a destination for me, but I’d definitely return if a friend is having a craving!

First off, I am going to make a bold statement and say Denver has some of the best phở I have ever had in the United States(I have had phở in Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, North Carolina, and New Hampshire). That being said, there are a ton of restaurants extremely close together in Denver, and so my review is slightly-based on its comparison to the other restaurants I’ve tried here, Phở 95 and Pho888: not as good as as Phở 95 but better than Pho888. THEGOODNESS — Hours: Came here after a Broncos game because it is one of the only phở places in the vicinity still open at late hours(up to 3am!) Parking lot was semi-full so can be difficult to park, but somewhat expected. — Mom and Pop Feel: Even at 11pm, there were a lot of people here, which is always a good sign. It was definitely smaller than some of the other restaurants, but to its advantage, the owners and servers are very nice. Water in my cup was filled constantly. THENOTSOGOODNESS — Phở: I got a rice noodle soup phở with well done brisket, tendon, and tripe. If I had to compare it to other states, Phở 96 would easily get 5 stars. However, I don’t know if it was just late in the night, but the broth was somewhat bland and meat was somewhat lacking, compared to Phở 95. Portion sizes were still good, considering how many noodles they give you, but I wouldn’t say it was the best phở I’ve ever had. — Cleanliness: The picture I posted doesn’t show the ground… you can thank me later. I appreciate the mom and pop/hole in the wall feel, but it’s hard for me to rank a place with max stars when there were napkins and scraps all over the floor. As clean as everything else was, it just didn’t look good walking in. WOULD I COMEBACK? — If it was late at night and nothing else was open, yes. However, with all the other restaurants in its immediate surrounding, I would probably go with something else next time.

I can’t believe I haven’t review this yet! My sister, her husband I were hankering for some Phở on the random night in May that it ended up snowing a foot. After having a few beers at a local brewery, we ventured over to Phở 96 for some deliciously hot noodles and yumminess. I’m always a fan of Vietnamese noodle bowls, so I opted for one with both chicken, beef and shrimp — which was full of veggies, sprouts and a spicy sauce to dump over the top. MMMM! Both my sister and her husband ordered large bowls of phở that were overflowing with noodles, fresh basil and so much goodness we had to take home! I love this little pocket of town because it’s the most genuine Asian cuisine and tastes the best! we will def return! :)

I’ve heard many good things about this place, from several different groups of friends, all positive. As such, I came here with high expectations. They meet every single one. The staff was polite, quick, efficient, and just great. The décor is interesting, but the place seems reasonably clean at least. But the food? Holy. Crap. My phở was the best I have ever had, in all my travels and all my visits to various phở joints. The noodles were perfect, the meat was abundant and tasty, the vegetables were crisp and fresh, and the broth was simply amazing. I also got a salted iced lemonade, which I’d never had. It was just okay, but still not bad enough to warrant any sort of rating reduction. All in all, I had a filling meal, left a nice tip, and all for less than $ 20. Will certainly be back.

Phở 96? Yes Please! We stopped in here accidentally a few weeks ago when we were trying to kill a little time early for dinner down the road on Federal… We ordered tea and spring rolls and decided it would be wise to come back, sooner rather than later! This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Denver. A bit of a hole in the wall, interesting Christmas decorations?, And the best Vietnamese food I have found to date, ever. The rice noodle bowls(Buns) far exceeded my experience to date; they were full of rice noodles, tasty bits of marinated meats and shrimps and delicious chopped egg rolls with a wonderful sauce. This was stupendous and I had plenty of leftovers to take home and they were great two days later!!! The boyfriend ordered the large phở with minced beef and it was delivered with pride –saying these are the largest bowls of phở in Denver! I believe that! The bowl was bigger than boyfriend’s head. And it cost 7.25! Lots of great food for very reasonable price, great friendly service, easy in and easy out, great for pick up: Phở 96 is a new go to in my repertoire!

This place is delicious! I know there are plenty of awesome places on Federal to get Phở and this place is no exception! Came here about a week ago for a late lunch with a friend. She ordered a small beef phở and tea boba and we shared the«make your own spring roll» appetizer. You get a ton of meat and veggies on a big plate, and then rice paper to customize your spring roll with an assortment of chicken, beef, shrimp, rice noodles, mint and lettuce. This appetizer easily fits a meal for two people. Its so GOOD! I also got the Avocado boba on the way out and it was creamily and delicious. Love this place, will be going back!

Great phở and fried egg rolls with many bean sprouts, basil and jalapeños! The menu also has rice bowls, dry noodle bowls, soft egg rolls and boba shakes. I would take my out of town friends here if you’re looking for good cheap vietnamese food. They don’t do stir fried food so the menu is limited but they do it very well. I have been out if the country for several months and I was really craving for some phở from Colorado. Yes, it’s different in San Fran and just as different in Australia and I can’t get away from the flavors I grew up with. This is the first time I had phở at this restaurant and it’s really good plus they have good service which is unheard of in asian restaurants. For example, they refilled our waters and came by our table multiple times even though it was busy … Wow! The egg roll came first and the sauce has enough sugar, spice and fish sauce to be more elaborate than just«fish sauce». Next came the combo phở with rare beef, tendons and tripe. The tendons are nice and soft and they spent a good time in the broth because you can taste it. I also tried their brisket and that is nice and tender too. I have tried many places and this place is good!

Sad day! PHO96 has lost much of what I’ve valued in great phở places. The last few times I’ve ordered from there, severe lack of attention to detail, quality control, and passion for what was once a wonderful dining experience has led to a single star rating. I am happy to report that Phở 96 owner, Tony, has moved to a much nicer location just down the street, PHO95. Without his leadership, however, I fear Phở 96 will just go downhill from here.

It’s cold and late on a weekend night and I’m in the mood for something warm. Cue Phở 96… open until 3AM on the weekends. What a godsend. Parking at 11:30PM on a Friday night was chaotic, and we actually had to park across the street and walk over. I opened the front door and there was a mass of people lined up for the hostess, and I’m starting to think I may have found a not-so-hidden gem. Soon enough we got our table and it was on. The Vietnamese egg rolls: Best egg rolls I’ve ever had. The crunch, the flavorful meat, the spice, it’s almost overwhelming and one of my all time favorite appetizers. The Phở was just as delicious as the Boba smoothie, and I left in the wee hours of the morning not only completely satisfied but also blown away. For my money, it’s the best Phở I’ve had in the Denver area.

After work, we decide to head to Phở 96 for Dinner, but opt to have our orders TOGO. This recent visit was on Monday January 5th2015. Man during that evening, this establishment is jam packed to the brim. Even the parking lot outside is FULL! From their menu we opt to have the following items : * No. 2. SMALL Shrimp Noodle Bowl Soup aka Tom($ 6.25) * No. 5B. Grilled Beef With Steamed Rice aka Bun Bo Nuong($ 7.75) For one, they packed the Broth and all other items separately. That is indeed GOOD in our books. But I am disappointed with regards to the number of Shrimp and portions. YES, the Broth has good flavor. But that’s it. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items from the Menu. So far its 3STARS in our books. Maybe my review might differ when we can get the chance to dine in at Phở 96 itself. It is GOOD to know that this establishment open till 3 am only on Fridays and Saturdays, in case we want our LATENIGHTEATS! Phở 96 is open DAILY, from the following hours : * Sunday — Thursday: 8:30 am — 10:00 pm * Friday — Saturday: 8:30 am — 3 am PHO96 2990 W. Mississippi Ave Denver, CO80219 Tel:(303)-568−9262 @24/2015
