We’ve been coming to the Ranch House for years now. Good comfort food at a very reasonable price. Great staff and awesome green chili. Rarely a wait.

What a gem on colfax! Dragged ourselves out of bed Saturday morning to grab takeout breakfast after a Friday night of partying and this was the cure! I had the California avocado skillet and it was delish. They’re daily specials on the board looked. Classic diner set up inside, I’ll definitely want to eat there next time when I’m not feeling so «under the weather». Yay new breakfast spot!

Good diner food, friendly staff, and great prices! I do wish that they offered vegetarian green chile… or more veg options. It’s nice that you can get a table at any time without a wait.

Writing this review so I remember where I had one of the best breakfasts ever the next time I’m in the Aurora area. Fast service, coffee mug stayed full, and a stick-to-your-rib breakfast that kept me full until dinner. Bring an appetite or a carry out bag, as the portions are huge. Highly suggest any breakfast with the chili, good flavor and heat.

Love the service. Servers are very friendly and good food. Although it can be busy at times they make sure you’re not forgotten on the order.

Ate there this morning and had a really positive experience! The staff was immediately welcoming, the service was excellent and the food was great and reasonably priced. I had the chorizo breakfast burrito and the pico de Gallo on the side was so good! Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and we had a mix of breakfast and lunch dishes. I get the guy’s review on here where he says he’s scared it’ll get busy! So much better than the new trendy brunch places where you wait two hours for a pancake!

I stopped by the Ranch House Café for breakfast one day during the week recently. This restaurant had been on my list of places to try for ages. As others had mentioned in their reviews, this isn’t the kind of place you’d particularly notice as you’re driving by but if you like diners, it’s worth stopping in. The inside is probably as dated looking as the outside, but it’s clean and comfortable. The restaurant has two sides once you enter. One side has counter seating(about eight stools) and maybe half a dozen booths. The other side is larger with tables. They have table service, but you pay at the counter on your way out. The staff I encountered were all very friendly and service was good. I decided to go all out and order one of their big chili-smothered burritos. I think the one I ordered was called ‘The Rocky’. It was filled with hash browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham and sausage and came smothered in green chili and with a side of pico and lettuce(and optional sour cream, which I declined). Overall, it was tasty — and very filling. For me, I thought it had a little too much meat and not enough potato, but I doubt too many people would complain about that. The scrambled egg could have been a little more ‘scrambled’, though. It was cooked long enough, it was just that there was a lot of cooked egg white that wasn’t mixed well enough with the yolk. It wasn’t a big deal in the context of a burrito, though. All-in-all, if you like a comfortable place with a good breakfast where you can hang out with the morning paper for a while, this is the place. I’ll be returning soon!

The service was quick and friendly! We ordered the Rocky Burrito and Huevos Rancheros and were mighty impressed by both! The atmosphere is divey and homey. Great for breakfast or lunch! We just found our new weekend breakfast place!

I don’t want to review this place, as I would like to still be able to walk in and immediately get a table at 9AM on Saturday. But this place is too great, and the service too friendly to not let others know. What I love about Ranch House: 1. Good coffee 2. Super friendly staff 3. Green Chile! 4. Homemade tortillas 5. You can order chicken and waffles if you ask nicely 6. Reasonable prices 7. No pretension 8. You can get a table easily 9. I haven’t had a bad meal yet

Wow what have I stumbled apon being hung over on a lovely Sunday. Not to be tempted by too many hipsters and awesome mustaches. I need a place that I could hide but still find some room for comfort. Their vegetarian omelettes are the best I’ve ever had in Denver. Slices of avocado and filled with veggies. I love the French toast option to add and yes this place has good service. Mildly in a sketch part of town but that doesn’t out the fact the food here is down right amazing. From old to young. All walks of life came in and none walked out mad. This place needs to be helicoptered out of the current location and dropped smack down in the middle of down town. Haven’t had anything else so I can’t go on any other opinion besides a veggie omelette if you eat meat and their meat sucks. Well frankly I would just cut back on your meat intake bro. Love the side of pico option. Pico Pico!!!

I was a bit skeptical because of its appearance, but listened to Unilocal. And I was so pleasantly surprised. The inside was clean and our waitress, Celeste, was a delight. The service was fast and food was hot! It’s ultra affordable and the kids’ plates were overflowing! I had their open-faced chicken sandwich smothered in green chile and it was great! Their avocado chicken club sandwich was also amazing. We’ll be coming back for sure!

Don’t be fooled by the outside, it’s cute and cozy inside. Breakfast here is really good! They have a wide selection on the menu but it’s not overwhelming. The service here is is wonderful and the staff is really nice! We’ve never had to wait for a seat, you can sit wherever you like, and the wait staff immediately comes to serve you. I’ve only come for breakfast but the scrambles and skillets are delicious. The food is not too greasy like other diner food can be.

This diner is a perfect example of why a place should never be judged by its exterior. :) The exterior of the place does nothing to draw your eye, and unless you know it’s there, you will miss it when you’re driving by; and you will miss out on some great food! This restaurant reminds me of the restaurants I grew up with back in western Nebraska farm country. Sitting and looking around at the décor, I can picture a group of farmers and ranchers coming in for breakfast… It’s just that kind of awesome«homey» atmosphere. Had a burrito called The Rocky. It is loaded with ham, bacon, sausage, 2 scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, & hash browns. Smothered in shredded cheese and a rich, green chili sauce with Pico de Gallo to top it off. Best burrito I’ve had in a long time. The green chili is homemade, and has just enough burn to let you know pure eat good something special. If you’re craving good breakfast burrito, this is the place to go. Going to have to come back soon and try the non-breakfast menu. :) Atmosphere **** Cost $$ Quality **** Quantity ***** Staff **** Edit: 1÷23÷16 — You have to try the Pot Roast Dinner The green chile stew is rich and full flavored, with big chunks of potatoes, pork, and a mild burn that creeps in but is not overpowering. Pot roast dinner… Big chunks of «fork tender» roast and large pieces of potatoes, carrots and celery; smothered in a thick brown gravy. Exactly the type of pot roast I remember having for Sunday dinners when I was a child. The only thing I can complain about is the pot roast need to come with a double serving of texas toast to sop up all the gravy… Don’t want to let any of it go to waste.

If you are looking for a good breakfast or brunch spot without the overpriced, pretentious entrée options and don’t want to wait 30 minutes for a table, this is the place for you. Simple diner-type fare, large menu, decently priced and substantial portions, we walked in and sat down right away. I had the chorizo skillet with tortillas, really enjoyed it, the green chile was very good with a little kick. Son really liked the breakfast burrito(rocky, I think?), which was huge. Husband doesn’t do spicy for breakfast, so they have tons of other options, eggs, skillets, omelets, pancakes, waffles, biscuits & gravy, cinnamon rolls, you name it they have it. Atmosphere is nothing fancy and maybe a little tired, but if the old-school coffee shop is your thing, give this place a try. Waitstaff was friendly, attentive, willing to answer questions and make recommendations. Look forward to going back again.

the BEST! I love«mom & pop» establishments! They have the best food and great service. This place is breakfast diner heaven. Hot coffee, great veggie omelets and the home fries are AMAZING! Better than Ihop, Denny’s and Village. I have been here twice and I always leave full and happy! Definitely a place to visit and go with a group.

Came in here after boot camp for some serious feeding. Schmoopie got the blueberry waffles. I’m pretty sure they were made with smurf souls and heart parts. She enjoyed them thoroughly. I got the farmers breakfast. The veggies were fresh an huge. I got a piece of bacon cut straight from the pig. I give this place two thumbs up.

Great little spot! Doesn’t look like much, but the menu is impressively large and the food delicious. We went on Saturday morning at 10 and had no trouble finding a table. Good was out super fast and our waitress was really nice. Crispy bacon that isn’t burnt? I’m in breakfast heaven!

Best green chili breakfast burrito I have ever had in all my days. I had to ask for some of that green chili to go! The lovely waitress gave me a generous portion, It’s homemade. The kind grandma use to make. I will pour it on everything! This place is a must and before I leave back to Vegas I’m going to have to stop back in and see if I can bribe the cook for that recipe. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak and it was also was homemade and just like grandma use to make. And the Gravy… Mmmm! I’m already planning my next breakfast there.

Boom! This place is the real deal. Recent Stapleton residents, my wife and I stopped into Ranch House Café for a late breakfast. The breakfast skillets are amazing and I highly recommend them. Honestly the entire menu looked tempting. The service is a bit lacking but what do you expect. It has a cool old-time diner feel and you can tell it hasn’t been updated in a while. Propped right on Colfax, there’s always the chance for something interesting to happen outside. Overall, great food, good coffee, inexpensive menu and an enjoyable experience. We’ll be back.

If you have not eaten here, you are missing it. 70’s charm in today’s world. The food it good, nicely priced and, amply portioned. If you are looking for up-to-date, new ambiance, this is not the place. Here, you return to those days of yesteryear. Classic.

YUM! Delicious food and GREAT service~ The chicken fried steak with breakfast was lean, not greasy or overbreaded, and fantastic with eggs and diced crispy potatoes. They even sell one slice of French toast if you need something sweet on the side. My hubby got the chorizo skillet which was delicious & had lots of meat, but be aware that the green chili was pretty spicy. Great place. nice and open, yummy food, and wonderful, friendly service. If I’m in this part of town again, I will definitely come back.

Where to start… Hmm. Perhaps I’ll start at the top of the menu, then work my way down to the end. This place has the look and feel of a truck stop diner, with good food to boot! The staff is hard working and friendly, and the clientele come from all walks. So far, I have had a smothered steak burrito, a chorizo breakfast burrito, and the chicken fried steak — all were great! One of my qualifiers for a 5 star venue is this question; If someone suggested this place, would you think for even a second, «nah, not this time»? If so, not a 5 star place. I will go to this place anytime!

Service was good. Food was good. décor was a little ruff. I had a chorizo burrito. I couldn’t eat it all. Very large portion. The chili was good and so was the filling of sausage and potatoes. Coffee was a weak. Two breakfast meals and two coffee cost us twenty plus a five dollar tip. For the cash I spent, I would recommend trying them out. Next time I am in that part of Denver, I will eat there again. The menu has MANY items on it. I think there were 7 or 8 different burritos listed. Most priced around 8 bucks. The only reason I gave a 4 star was the décor and weak coffee(not bad coffee… I just like it strong)

My friend and I wanted a nice breakfast and since an hour and a half wait at Denver Biscuit Company was out we decided to try something else. I was dog-sitting for a friend and this jewel of a spot was close to her house for breakfast. My friend wanted to meet up and he had had a fun night before so we new we needed good greasy food. Walking into the place may be a little sketch but once you’re inside, you just know you’re going to get a good meal. It was a Sunday morning and people were there who just came from church. They were decked to the 9’s. Now you know if granny is coming in her Sunday best, the food is gonna be good. The menu is grand. So grand that I could barely decide what I want because I wanted to try everything. I ended up settling on the chorizo skillet. My friend ordered the chorizo burrito. The portion sizes were huge, but it did not stop me from eating the whole thing. They make the chorizo like I remember when I was little. We also had to order and extra side of grits because, GRITS. They were delicious. They were the perfect consistency and had great flavor. I hate when my egg isn’t cooked perfectly over medium. I really think that people don’t know how to make eggs at most places. But here, they cooked it perfectly. Service was fast quick and friendly. Our server had one cute pink tank top and some jean shorts that may have been a little too short, but what else do you expect in a dive diner. I had driven by this place many times and always saw people in there eating. I just thought it was for the cheap food. Their food is cheap, but it was so delicious. I can not wait to come back and try everything on their menu. Ranch house, you have my heart, and my belly.

This place is really close to our house and it is one of our favorite places to go for breakfast. Food here is inexpensive, freshly made, and served up pretty quick most days, even when they are swamped. Service is friendly and they always seem to remember me and my husband, even though we come here less than once a month. The inside could use an upgrade. The bathrooms are rarely too clean, but even when they are, they are teeny-tiny. Trying to fit more than one person in the bathroom at a time can be a challenge. There really is not a lot of room to stand if someone is already at the sink. Overall, the bathroom isn’t a huge deal anyway. I’ll keep coming back with my husband when we’re in the mood for a lazy breakfast(IE, don’t feel like cooking!)

Little hole in the wall greasy spoon. Had breakfast there with my daughter a couple weeks back. The food was solid and fast with coffee always full. Our waitress was really nice and indulged my daughter’s asking if the staff had noticed her(imaginary) cat anywhere because she was lost. The waitress came back and checked in to see if the cat was found yet earning a fan in both me and my daughter.
