We hired Alison to take our wedding photos and couldn’t be happier with the resulting photos. She makes sure to find out what you want from her and we knew we didn’t have to worry about the photos on the big day, which is sooo nice! The photos by both her and her associate had great focus and framing and we’ve very much enjoyed looking back on them when recalling our most special of days.
We don’t have a great deal of extra income and splurged on the photography. For the service and quality of the photos the money was very well spent! Her prints are high quality and beautiful as well, though they are well outside of my price range. I believe all Red Shoes Photography packages include digital delivery of all photos taken for your event, so that isn’t really a problem.

Alison has been absolutely wonderful to work with for our upcoming wedding! My fiancé and I rarely take photos and certainly have never been the focus of any professional work. John was hesitant to do the engagement photo session, but we enjoyed every minute of it! Alison was relaxed yet directive and our photos are a tribute to her talent. They are simply stunning! I found Alison via Unilocal for my wedding photography. My mother was incredibly hesitant about using someone who was not referred to us, but I assured her that after looking at the Red Shoes Photography website, she looked great! After meeting with Alison, and seeing her work in print, we were all blown away by her talent. Alison proved to be a great photographer through the engagement session and then at the wedding. She is very calm, cool and collected and can make you feel at ease. Not only were the pictures outstanding, but I got them back so quickly! Many of my other friends who have gotten married have had to wait multiple MONTHS to get their pictures back… Alison was incredibly timely.

Alison is fantastic, she was the perfect person to take our family photos! From the beginning, Alison was professional and accommodating. She was very flexible and understanding when trying to plan around my 1-year-old’s inconsistent nap schedule.
In the planning process, I explained to Alison that I’d like the photos taken in our backyard because it’s our home and I wanted to convey that feeling. She was completely on-​board with this plan. However, I was a bit concerned since our backyard is a bit small and not what I would consider a photographer’s ideal location. Alison came up with some really amazing, creative ideas around our home. She truly has an artistic eye for what works in photos.
In addition, she did a great job helping my shy 8-​year-​old and un-​photogenic husband feel at ease. We are thrilled with the outcome of the pictures, we will be contacting Alison again for any future photography needs.

I love Alison! She’s wonderful and so are her photos. I found her online through her blog, so I was a bit nervous at first to dive into a head shot shoot with just me and her, since we had never met prior. But she made me feel very comfortable right off the bat and I had so much fun! We walked around the Botanical Gardens, talked, laughed… oh and took amazing photos!
I have even hired her again since then to shoot head shots for my whole office! She set up a studio on site, was timely, and very professional.

She’s really flexible as well and dealt with our «pinterest» ideas and requests and they turned out better than I could have imagined! She also had some great ideas of her own. We got a CD with all the images and a web link which is exactly what we wanted-​so we can decide what to do with the pictures on our own! This is definitely a perk as a lot of photographers make you pay extra for the digital files.

Alison of Red Shoes Photography is fantastic! We hired her for materniy, newborn, and 6 month photos for our first baby girl. I could not be more pleased with how they turned out! Alison of Red Shoes Photography is incredible photographer! I am a bit self conscious in front of a camera and Alison had these fun little exercises to help me relax. I used Red Shoes Photography for my wedding. I give her 5 stars for a few reasons:
— Alison has a great eye and you get a very high quality product from her.
— Alison listens to what you want and delivers what you asked for. We wanted fun, more casual photos that captured the day and very few formal photos. We ended up with exactly what we wanted and love our pictures.
— Not «owning» your wedding photos and ordering 1 by 1 is a pain, expensive and the biggest complaint I’ve heard from brides… I got 2 CD’s with all of my photos so that we can use them as we want. That is HUGE and rare.
— On a personal level, Alison was fun, easy to work with, organized and pushes you just enough to make sure you actually get what you want. I balked at taking engagement photos and she convinced me quickly by saying that they were part of the package and that we really should do a practice round before the wedding itself. She was right — we needed to get comfortable with having our photo taken and you don’t want to do that on the big day! We loved our engagement photos and hadn’t thought it was possible to have engagement photos that weren’t cheesy. We were wrong. At the wedding she was also organized and prepared to herd my family for photos so that we could get through them quickly.

The entire team at Bön Secours NY’s «Healthy Communities Initiative» sends out a BIG Thank You to Red Shoes Photography for spending the day capturing all of the special moments at the Kingsbridge Heights Play Street in the Bronx, NY. So much of what we do happens in «hidden» and «forgotten» spaces like abandon lots, corner stores, and on stoops. Play Streets is our attempt to reclaim public space and increase visibility of important neighborhood work. The process has been empowering– and we are so thankful that Red Shoes was there to document our humble beginnings. We sincerely hope that Red Shoes will return in a few year to benchmark our growth.
