Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning

I had a great exp and I hope it continues with them. AC didn’t work knew I had a leak from last year. I didn’t tell the tech until after he came in and told me about the leak. So I knew he wasn’t lying about that. Didn’t tell him how much refrigerant they added last time. He added less and it cost less that last company. He never pushed anything never pushed for the plus agreement either. Chester is his name and he was great and this company should be happy and lucky to have him. No one wants to be ripped off. I told him that he agreed. Did the jib did the job well and left. Way cheaper than bell heating and cooling. Which is who I have used for 4 years. There service is terrible compared to these guys.

I liked the service I got from Service Experts. Form the time I called they were ver accommodating to fit MY schedule. When Rick arrived he was easily within the time quoted and started immediately to work.
I had purchased the home and the prior owner had installed a high efficiency A/​C and furnace and so I figured who better to service it. I have a hi-​tech thermostat that can be operated via a smart phone but I don’t have the technical ability to figure things like that out. Rick was patient with me and reviewed the current settings and move on to the furnace and compressor side of the system.
Rick’s supervisor made a surprise visit and he too reviewed the thermostat with me. I am very happy with the service.

Equally frustrating is a company that doesn’t read their reviews and then contacts me asking if I would like them to come out for a maintenance check. Guess they’re not staying on top of reviews and experiences by their customers… wouldn’t do business with you then, based on my experience, and I won’t do business with you now.

Purchased new AC and Furnace through Lowes and Service Experts came to do the install. Matt and Nick did a fantastic job. Were very polite and respectful. They made sure they wore booties over there shoes. They explained everything they were doing and when we came to an issue that was going to have them re do all the intake and exhaust for the furnace, there was no fuss, the just told me they wanted it to be they way I wanted it. I would use them again in a heart beat.

I wanted to hate them — but Jason not only fixed the situation– he single-​handedly (with some help from his colleague, Matt) is the reason that we are considering going with this company for some major upgrades and purchases. I bought Lennox furnace from them ($ 9500) 2years ago. currently doing major upgrades to house… a few contractors had reason to be in utility room and all 3 of them encouraged me to raise hell with SE (service experts) for the installation. i called demanding to speak to blah blah… ended up with jason. he was beyond diligent scheduling a time that worked (i live in 2 cities — not easy to do). he let me know when he was running late. he took complete responsibility for SE doing a sub-​par job. not only that, jason showed us exactly how it should have been installed the first time. jason made some calls and within ½ hour, Matt arrives. matt spent the good part of the day installing the furnace correctly.
and… to top it off, they found a gas leak in my water heater — which they fixed at no charge. all of it was no charge. we also asked both of them about some future upgrades. both were very clear about prices — and neither my husband nor i felt that they were trying to sell or push us.
we should all understand that most businesses involve mark-​ups along the way. clearly, SE has mark ups included in their costs. the key for SE… like many service businesses, is to ensure the mark-​ups don’t price them out of the market.
all in all, i am going to give SE a shot at bidding at the upgrades we’re going to do. more specifically, i will request only jason and/​or matt.

After my last post, we called and threatened to get a lawyer and my husband sent an email to management. We received a check that day delivered in person by our salesman. They made us work for it but we got it!

The company I work for had Service Experts come out and look at our A/​C unit last summer which wasn’t working very well. It would blow cold air, but not enough to cool everything down. They came out 4 different times to «fix» it before it stopped working completely and they finally said the unit would need to be replaced. My boss replaced the outside unit and everything seemed to work fine… Until this summer. There was a small leak from the unit in the basement, but the A/​C worked fine. After they came out to «fix» it again, the unit once again is broken and will need to be replaced. Seems like an odd coincidence that after they «fix» the problem, my boss needs to spend thousands on a new unit. Not impressed.

i called service experts after i received a flyer in the mail. after they no-​showed on the first appointment, i received a visit from santosh a week later. he explained that my unit was older, but recommended a new filter ($ 90. they sell them at target for $ 20) and cleaning. he worked on the unit for about 4 hours and charged me $ 569. that was minus the $ 50 coupon from the flyer. the unit ran all night, never lowering the temperate inside the house. i called back to request a follow up visit which i received a week later. fortunately, this time i got ahold of josh, who was honest with me and told me that my unit was unrepairable. but, yes, i still have to pay $ 84 for the technician visit. i have now paid a total of $ 653 for work on a unit that is toast.
but wait! they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee! i’ll call and request a refund. no such luck. because «it’s impossible to determine if the work we do is going to repair an older unit like yours.» maybe, but if i had known the unit was shot, i wouldn’t have spent the $ 569 the first time.
avoid these folks.

I have been using Service Experts for 7 years. They come out twice per year to service my furnace and AC unit and I’ve had them do more extensive service. Today marks the 4^th time they’ve messed up my appointment and not even reached out to let me know. My appointment today was between 2 and 4 pm. At 3:55 I called them to see when the tech would be here and they said he was running really late and had no idea when he would arrive. Hello, you have my phone number you could let me know, I shouldn’t have to call. Last time the dispatcher called me to see if the tech was here because she couldn’t find him. I laughed at how crazy that question was. He wasn’t here because he wasn’t even working that day. 2 other times they simply had no record of my appointments. The techs are great, I’ve never had and issue with the techs and have found the prices to be in line with the competition, but I can’t do business with a company that wastes so much of my time. Come on Service Experts, figure out how to dispatch and schedule your techs!

I can not even express how infuraited I am with Herb B. from this company.
Without checking the real issue of my malfunctioning furnace he recommends I replace the furnace due to the high repair cost it will take to fix my issue. $ 900 dollars for parts BESIDES the $ 84 service fee while we have a so-​called PLUS warranty with this company.
I get a second opionion where the guy (Paul Suppes HVAC) disovers a dead bird in my inducer moter, removes it, and has my furnace working again in literally 4 minutes!!! $ 75 later I have a working furnace again.
Prime example of trying to commit Highway robbery by Service Experts.
I can’t wait for Dave M’s response to this review. He seems to have a good excuse for the previous bad reviews. Perhaps he should go in politics.
Terrible service and I will highly recommend you stay away from these guys.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. They scheduled an appointment for a broken water heater with me from 8 – 10 am. I called around 10 and they said he would be there. The guy showed up at 11 and I had already taken off a half day of work. No appologies, no phone calls warning of the delay. Never call them. Ever.

Relating a story from my In-​Laws eerily similar to Daniel W’s:
Their air conditioning unit went out 3 days ago and they called Service Experts. They called them because they bought the unit 9 years ago from the company that was bought by the company bought by Service Experts :)
Two men show up to get an estimate, and already my in-​laws sense that they are there to intimidate… and that they do. They immediately start talking about why they need a brand new air conditioner AND a furnace (have to get one that is ‘compatible’!) and new electrical to support both.
The quote? $ 20,000.
The next day they asked their neighbor (heating and plumbing guy) to give them some help with an estimate… tomorrow they are having a new one installed for $ 1,900.
Sounds like Service Experts is completely unethical and seeking to take advantage of seniors. Too bad for them that my in-​laws are too smart to get taken in by people like this.
If you call them, make sure you get a second opinion.

Simply incredible disappointment: tech asked $ 400 to fix the plumbing and my neighbor did it in less than 10min with no instruments. They asked for $ 2,800 for water heater and Home Depot sells those for $ 563 plus $ 149 to install; they asked for $ 4,996 for tanlkless heater and both Lowe’s and Amazon sells those for $ 1,100… I had those guys servicing my house for 5+ yrs and those were «preferred prices» you quoted me! Simply awful, sorry, I’m disappointed. I suggest to shop around and save thousands of dollars by going somewhere else!
