I popped in quickly to pick up a bottle of red wine for cooking. This happened to be the closest liquor store in the area I was running errands. It is a little hard to find parking and I snagged a spot just as someone was leaving. This might be more of a walk to the store sort of neighborhood situation. The employee was friendly and made light banter with what was clearly a regular. I grabbed a bottle of wine and was back out the door in less then five minutes.

Okay, I admit it. I’d previously written this liquor store off as seemingly too sketchy-looking for my tastes, really for no good reason whatsoever. Well, it just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover. I’ve really been missing out because this super convenient corner store is a short walk away from my office and perfect for picking up a bottle or two during my lunch break. I no longer hesitate to step across the antique address number tile«welcome mat» and through the front door. The store is tiny and packed to the gills with a decent selection of wine, beer, and spirits. I go specifically for my favorite white wine, Canyon Wind Cellars 47-Ten, already chilling in the cooler. You’ll also find Tanteo Tequila, Stranahan’s Whiskey, and a few different local beers. The staff is very friendly and will help you find anything you need. Some of the stock sits in boxes so you may miss something if you don’t ask. Seriously, this place is super small and there’s not a whole lot of shelf space available. Prices seem pretty consistent with other mom and pop shops. Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood, so be warned. There’s a small lot in back that the store shares with neighboring businesses so you might find a space if you’re lucky. If you’re in the area and need booze, be sure to stop in.

I stop here from time to time when I take 17th home and I am always pleased by the selection and the service. This place does have some stock that you cannot get anywhere else in town.

Good selection, good prices. Not pretentious like some other neighborhood liquor stores. Ty is the man and can help you find what you are looking for.
