Shape Plus Personal Training

My husband and I were looking for a trainer when we moved to Denver last year and decided to try out ShapePlus.
Their care and attention to the clients is FANTASTIC. I’ve managed gyms in the past and this one goes above and beyond your standard run on a treadmill place.
I come with a whole host of medical issues and my husband had a herniated disc a few months back. Greg and the team have been able to combat our issueswith thoughtful planning of our programs and care towards our goals (my first half marathon down and another to go!).
I know some people may balk at the price, but in reality it’s more than fair for the attention you get and well worth every dime. What’s more important than your health, afterall?
My husband and I are in better shape then we’ve been in years and look forward to going to ShapePlus for years to come.

I blew my knee out playing with my brother’s kids. Ended up getting surgery, and as a result, I sat around for the next year and gained a lot of weight. I tried a couple times to lose the weight on my own, but never stuck with any diets.
I joined Shape Plus with the goal of losing the weight, but ended up learning how to eat healthy along with the help in my work outs. Greg, my trainer, got me to my goal of losing 50 lbs. I had no idea that not only would I reach that goal, but I’d be setting new ones. Once I was lighter, we started building muscle and endurance. I’m in the best shape of my adult life now.
I know some people say it’s a bit pricey, but honestly, it’s worth every penny. The cost kept me accountable. I never skip. That makes a lot of difference. There have been a few times that I couldn’t make it due to other obligations, but Greg would find a way to fit me in later in the week. They genuinely care about your fitness success.
I can’t say enough about this gym. Greg is an amazing trainer, and has personalized my workouts to physical limitations. The other trainers there are also great, and it’s like an entire team is supporting and cheering for you.

Been going here for over 3 years. Saw fast results and continue to go because I love my trainer and I want to maintain results. Amazing prices and top-​notch trainers who make you comfortable and really care about your results.

In the past I have worked out with other trainers in the Denver area, tried to do it on my own and set goals but not followed through with them. What I really needed was an entire lifestyle change that included both my diet and exercise regimen. This is what sets Shape Plus apart from the rest of the trainers out there. I came to Shape Plus wanting to lose weight and gain strength. My trainer, Shawna, created a plan that was designed specifically for me. What I love most about working out with her is that she is always coming up with different exercises that challenge you and so it keeps it fun, it is never the same, repetitive strength training.
If I have one gripe, it is probably the price. It took me over a year to call Shape Plus back after I received their pricing via email. I don’t regret the decision though, Shawna pushes me far beyond my own capability. At the point I’d probably give up, she somehow gets me to push out more reps.
Bottom line: Shape Plus is awesome. My trainer, Shawna, is the toughest trainer I have ever worked out with. I have gained so much confidence, strength and pride in myself and my body. I know I could not have gotten here without Shawna. If you want trainers that will push you but are also genuinely vested in how well you do — Shape Plus is the place for you.

I’ve been at Shape Plus for a few months and this place is great and highly recommended whether you are looking to lose a lot or just get back in shape, you can reach your goals here.
The trainers know what they are doing and there are about 10 of them. They will first look at your nutrition as that is the one of the most important things to change right away and they stress that a lot. Just making that change will do wonders for you and they will give you feedback or look at your food diary as much as you want.
You will have to supplement with some cardio which they have on-​site or you can do on your own time. They have all the machines and free weights you need. Most importantly they mix up the workouts and exercises so you are always doing something different. I must have done at least 50 different exercises or more and they all work different muscle groups in different ways.
The atmosphere is very positive too. You are constantly getting high-​fives and encouragement from your trainer and the other trainers. It’s a tight-​knit group and you will get to know the other trainers and clients as well.
This is personal training, not group lessons, so you will have 1-​on-​1 training and sometimes up to 1 or 2 others working out with your trainer but not always doing the same exercises. It can get busy from 5−7pm but you don’t have to worry about not getting to use a machine or weights as the trainers take care of all that for you.
It’s important to let your trainer know your goals and to keep checking on your progress and make adjustments as needed.
Overall working with Shape Plus is more of a lifestyle change — your diet, the time you commit to working out, sticking to your goals, and doing cardio. You will see results if you put the time into it and you’ll have fun too.
Bring work out gloves

I trained at Shape Plus for nearly 2 years and had an amazing experience. This place is definitely for the person who is really ready to get into shape, but needs motivation, guidance and encouragement. The trainers really get to know you and push you out of your comfort zone; this is where change occurs in my opinion. I highly recommend Shape Plus for someone who doesn’t just want to talk about making a change, but wants to actually see a change.

I first went to Shape Plus because I didn’t fit into my bridesmaids dress for my brother’s wedding that was in a month and I had heard the radio commercials with Jess saying «We do amazing!» and I knew I was going to need it! So I went in told them my goal and we went to work and sure enough after about a month the dress fit again! I signed up for 9 weeks so after I got back from the wedding I decided I wanted to loose even more weight, it was addictive. Not only did I lose a total of 15 pounds working out at Shape Plus but I developed a love and an addiction to fitness. I had been over weight my whole life and never thought I was athletic or capable of doing all of those things athletic people do but the people at shape plus showed me otherwise. They really push you but most importantly they really care about YOU, your wellbeing and getting you to your goals. With them I ran my first mile! I lifted more weights then I could imagine! I learned what a healthy diet was, not just eating the right thing but WHEN to eat. I loved my time with Shape Plus and recommend them to everyone!

Jess and his staff are amazing at what they do. Not only do they know how to whip you into shape, but they are super friendly. Every trainer knew my name and said hello every time I walked in. I had to get in shape in 5 weeks and we did it. Thanks guys!

As I have been inching closer to my 30s I realized that my chubby belly from drinking beer was not going to shrink itself! I had a membership to my local rec center, which is literally down the street, but I still wasn’t making a difference in my waistline or my health. I knew I had to do something drastic that would give me the push I really needed.
I found Shape Plus on the Internet, and after extensive research on the pluses and minuses of paying for a trainer I realized that it was probably worth it. I am extremely happy I did. I met with Greg who showed me the mistakes I had been making to achieve healthy goals, and explained how to do it right. My preconceptions of personal trainers in the «Rocky-​style» scream in your face until you cry sort of scenario quickly vanished. I found myself looking forward to my bi-​weekly workouts, and to the excitement of stepping on a scale that gave me positive results. After a few months of training at Shape Plus I have lost over 20 pounds.
I am ever grateful for the staff at Shape Plus who gave me the attention and drive I needed in order to achieve my goals. I have more energy than I’ve had in years, I look forward to my workouts each day, and I have even started going to ballet classes after 8 years off. I have gained a new outlook on a healthier life, and I really owe it to Shape Plus.

If someone is looking for a change, I’d recommend Shape Plus. A change from their sedentary lifestyle, or even a change from their current work out regimen, because it is that different.
The nutrition guidance will give you a game plan that will greatly reduce cravings and emotional eating. The trainers themselves are passionate and dedicated. In a year I’ve gone from being shy to yelling back at Jess. (Jess is the owner and the guy on the radio ads, and he stands by what he says: They won’t judge you, but they will motivate you and expect you to do your best!)
The trainers get that this isn’t just physical. They all want you to achieve physical success of course, but the confidence and learning to externalize and reject negative thought patterns have helped in so many other areas of my life. The 70# or so I’ve lost are banished, and the confidence instilled through hours of sweat (and tears sometimes!) helped me land my promotion!

I loved this place, and was so sad when it was time to stop. They don’t mess around, they’re dead serious about what they’re doing. All the trainers were so nice, friendly and motivating. The owner Jess was always very interested in how I was doing (I had a pinched nerve problem while I was there) and he stayed on me to do the physical therapy that was prescribed, and he gave me an exercise to do as well — and the nerve problem went away. My trainer was Jionni who I just adored. He was fun, funny, and knew his stuff really well. He made me do exercises that I would have never tried on my own, and what a great feeling to learn I could Actually do more than I thought I could! I was provided with a diet to follow, and was told to do extra cardio to reach my goal. I wasn’t very good at doing the cardio outside the gym so it probably took me longer to reach my goal than it should have — but I dropped 3 sizes and developed muscle tone I never expected! I loved going there even though i knew Jionni was gonna torture me (haha), and always left with a smile on my face, and completely wore out. And it’s a real gym — the guys will be guys! I miss it and would go back if the time was right. It wasn’t cheap but it was totally worth the money. It was an investment in me because what I achieved with Jionni’s help, I would have never done on my own. Oh — and never say ‘sorry’ or you’ll have to push the sled!
I always recommend this place to people when I can — it’s not easy to drop 30 pounds — but they helped me do it.

I was looking for a personal trainer and I didn’t want to go to one of those big box gyms and work out in front of tons of other people. Shape Plus is not a big box gym, the only people who are there are awesome trainers and their clients. Ryan was my trainer and he gave me a diet and exercise plan that made me drop about ten pounds a month! I recommend Shape Plus to everyone I know, and don’t know. They are very affordable and competitively priced. If you don’t want to work out in front of tons of strangers at a big box gym give shape plus a call! Give them 10 weeks and follow their healthy diet and you will see why I can’t stop talking about them!

Shape plus is a great place for people looking to lose weight fast. There are a couple reasons I didn’t give it a 5.
Slightly expensive: Packages start at $ 980.
No refunds: If it’s not for you or don’t like the place, no pro-​rated return
Equipment: Not bad, but could be better for the price (I’ve been told it’s since been updated)
The Good
Trainers: Greg and all trainers I met were very knowledgeable
Motivation: They watch your diet just as much as your training
Location: Centralized location for most people
Overall
Not bad if you have the money and don’t self motivate well. I personally learned alot from the trainers I was able to take and use personally at other open gyms.
*Update: I noticed Shape Plus expanded & added more space. I would still speak to the quality of the trainers. Greg was wonderful & Shawna did an excellent job as well.
