I’m nearing retirement age and have been to many dentists over the years and rate Steele Dentistry as the best I’ve been to. Great people, clean and comfortable offices, up front clarity regarding treatment and prices, and excellent, quality dental care. I enjoy that they have the talent and skill to provide every modern technique to make ‘going to the dentist’ a comfortable experience.

First, to eliminate any thought of bias, I’m a regular on Unilocal with reviews and checkins.
I must say I am EXTREMELY impressed. I have some moderate and costly dental issues. The options and scenarios were presented with care, understanding and sincerity. Katie and the staff were very sympathetic to my situation.
I went to 4 offices before finding her and there is now I finally found my dentist. Kate is a sincerely genuine person and dentist. I didn’t feel pressured, rushed or blown off. She took the time to answer all 100 of my questions :) The staff all around is friendly and great too. Thank you guys so much!
If you’re looking for a dentist, you’ve found the best.

I don’t trust this place! After reading good reviews, I called to make an appointment with Dr. Steele but when I arrived, I was treated by Dr. Whiteley without any notice. Right away I was asked for $ 35 when I thought my insurance would cover a basic cleaning. I was informed afterwards that this was for the Fluoride treatment (that I did not request). The cleaning was painful and they said it’s because I bleach my teeth so my gums are sensitive but I’ve never had that issue before. Dr. Whiteley made me feel uneasy and ashamed of my teeth. According to him, I had 8 cavities. 6 months before when I went to another dentist, I only had 4. I’m no dental expert but to gain 4 new cavities in 6 months seems extreme. He was very concerned about my RAPID tooth decay making it seem like I must smoke meth or crack in my free time! I had the xrays pulled from the other dentist so they could explain why these new cavities weren’t detected before but they said it was hard to read the copies I brought in. Long story short, I only had two fixed and came out of my pocket about $ 500 with insurance. I will not go back again. They will schedule your next visit before you’ve even had your first and charge if you miss it so be careful. I get newsletters with Facebook drawings. When it comes to my health, I don’t care about marketing and I don’t care about upsells, I just want an honest care provider that work best with my needs and concerns. This wasn’t it.

Super nice — Very clean modern location. Made going to do something unpleasant not so bad. Highly recommend. Very reasonably priced and not trying to push services you don’t need.

This place is definitely about making money, and not about your general dental health. Be careful of what «add-​ons» they give you during your appointment (including xrays more than once a year when insurance only covers them one time per year). They try to upsell you on many different tools– mouth guards, fluoride treatments, etc. The place is beautiful, clean, nice but staff is rotating and some seemed inexperienced. I made an appointment and showed up, but they didn’t have the appointment. They tried to accommodate me, but that was the only time I had available. I need to find a new dentist!

I love this place… and i cant believe that im writing that about a dentist. as deathly afraid as i am. This place is wonderful. the Front Desk Staff took care of any question or concern i had relating to insurance and what was covered. They always welcome me with a smile:) and all the dentist i met there are amazing. Again. making me feel so comfortable. even with a crown! Truly a great practice!

My fiancé and I recently moved and had to leave a dentist we really liked. We were nervous about finding a new dentist (we’ve both had some issues in the past with pain and don’t exactly love dental visits). We put it off as long as possible, but when we went in to Steele Dentistry, they were so kind and gracious. No guilt. No pain. No upselling. No bargaining. Just information on what our insurance would cover, what was necessary and what was optional, and how we could prevent ourselves from needing additional care in the future. Loved each and every person!

I have no idea why the other reviewers would give such a bad review. I have been in twice and both times I had an outstanding experience. I went in once for a cleaning and the second time was to get a cavity filled. Both times, Dr. Steele and her staff were nothing but friendly, kind and courteous. I had a ton of concerns with getting my cavity filled because of some bad experiences at other places, and they 100% eased those worries and were very gentle with how they treated me during the procedure. I have extremely sensitive teeth, and anyone who has sensitive teeth can agree with me that it makes you flinch just thinking about something irritating them. They were very cautious both visits not to hurt my teeth and I am so thankful for that:)
I have some other issues going on with my teeth and Dr. Steele was very up front about what I needed to get done. She informed me about the more urgent ones, one being the cavity, and things that I should get done, but that could wait. I never felt like she was pushing me to get work done that didn’t need to get done. She was also very sensitive to the fact that I do not have dental insurance, so taking one thing at a time so as not to break the bank, was how she approached it with me.
Dr. Steele is so sweet and really great at what she does!

Dr. Steele has been simply amazing with my husband and his wisdom teeth issues. She and her staff have really saved the day when it came to all the trouble he was having and relieved us of all the disappointments we had from other dentists. Dr. Steele has an impeccable bedside manner and actually made the dentist not seem so scary! Her staff was also truly helpful making my groggy husband comfortable after his procedure and made sure I informed on his aftercare. After about a week or so after the procedure my husband was feeling some discomfort from some expected bone spurs. The office was able to take him in quickly and remove them without delay and they have since been in contact about his progress to make sure he is healing correctly. Great customer service here!

If I could give this no stars I would. The worst are the poor fillings. My regular dentist (a teacher, not a med school student trying to pay off loans) said the filling was done with the wrong material, and it was so poorly done that they broke and came out leaving me in so much pain. I am still dealing with this and now due to how it was first dealt with I will be needing a root canal.
While I was there they Gave me laughing gas and it started to suffocate me! I had to rip it off my face and tell them it was just not allowing me to breath. They half ass apologized and put it back with what seemed to be no medicine coming out so It wasn’t even working.
They pulled a tooth and told me to come back for the other wisdom teeth another day and re scheduled. After taking a day off of work etc etc I went in and they told me they couldn’t even do the procedure. Overcharging me everytime as well.
Neverrrrr!!! Such a waste of money and time

Kate is the best in the west. Everyone that works here is so top notch and friendly. Do yourself a solid and check her out.

I’m pretty shocked to see some of the reviews below that I see. I’ve been seen at Dr. Steele’s office now for 2 – 3 years. I am very familiar with the staff, and I try to be seen as regularly as my schedule will permit. MY BAD, Allison! (I WILL FLOSS BETTER) Lol
I will admit the financial aspect of how things are handled can seem a little aggressive at first, but it took some calming, and explanation from Miranda O. the AMAZING (SUPER-​NICE, and ALWAYS Friendly) finance coordinator to help me understand it’s just how they handle business. Everything being said you can’t really be mad at a Dental Business for trying to handle their BUSINESS, in a businesslike manner. Taking deposits to ensure that patients come back to receive their treatments, and are on time to do so, just makes good sense to me. I think people expect to pay less out of pocket for dental procedures, and «hope» that their insurance coverage is enough to cover everything, but I realize most times it just isn’t. Just how insurance works these days unfortunately. I see the same thing with my medical insurance all the time. You pay into it all year long, and the one time you need an xray, you still have to come out of pocket for something.
As far as people talking about being scammed. The very first time I was reviewed by Dr. Steele I had a few fillings that needed to be replaced. I knew for a fact some did because they were coming out whenever I chewed sticky, or hard foods. When I saw Dr. Steele she arranged for me to handle the more urgent matters almost immediately, and assured me that there was still «life» in the other fillings, and suggested that we wait a while to see if we could get a little more use out of them. Other than that, I had a few chipped teeth that needed repair, and I had a few issues initially with my bite being off, and needing adjustment. Anytime I called and requested review for issues associated with my bite being off, I was gotten on schedule almost instantly, and the matter was adjusted free of additional charge. Dr. Steele seemed more concerned with getting my «bite» correct, than collecting another co-​payment. I appreciate the concern that she and her staff show for me when I come for my appointments, and I believe that they are very genuine people as a whole to deal with. I am very satisfied with the level of care I receive at this dental practice.
I enjoy and look forward to seeing Dr. Steele’s office and staff when I go. I’ve also recommended to all of my co-​workers, that they attend as well. I feel like people may be misinterpreting the room that you sit down in to discuss financing options for procedures. At first you feel like your sitting in a principals office, or something, then you feel like you are discussing the purchasing of a new car. You instantly question the need for so much privacy, but I started chatting with Miranda and was made to understand it was just so that people could privately discuss their procedures, and their ability, or inability to pay for everything needed at that time privately without having to be embarrassed. I can definitely see the sensibility in that.
The office is modern, has some great newer looking equipment, and I really like the location, although parking can be difficult to find sometimes in the parking lot out front. They have a fridge with waters, and other refreshments up front. NEED I SAY MORE??? Jackpot! lol I’d rather feel as though I’m visiting a state of the art newer designed facility, than a run down office in downtown any day of the week. Because of the location here I can usually be seen, and be back to work in a matter of 20−30mins.
As you can tell I’m a fan, I’m not sure what happened to these other people, but I would have to say that I’d easily recommend them to anyone I know. Everyone seems fair, friendly, and very experienced.

I don’t understand why there have been some bad reviews of Steele Dentistry. I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was very kind, I didn’t have to wait long at all, Dr. Steele was very informative and super nice, and fixed up my cavity without any discomfort on my part. In response to Kelli’s experience, Dr. Steele told me that she does not do any unnecessary dental work, and the bad tooth pain I had been feeling went away after one small filling.
More people with the great experience I’ve had should be writing reviews. It’s sad that the few with a bad experience have written reviews. They are probably people who are unhappy about everything. I will be going back for regular cleanings.

Kate Steele and her staff are amazing. They do a great job of explaining costs that are and are not covered by insurance, to the best of their knowledge. Of course, it’s not always possible for them to say for sure what the ultimate out-​of-​pocket expense will be, but I have always found that they err on the side of caution and I often find that they have over estimated the amount that I needed to pay. Sure. I would prefer to have the exact cost the first time, but I’d rather overpay initially and get a refund than get stuck with an additional bill weeks after I thought it had all been taken care of.
Everyone there has always been extremely friendly. I love Steele Dentistry

7÷18÷2013 Edit — Below was my original review, but after visiting another dentist I have revised my original review. This dentist tried to perform unnecessary dental work on me. She told me that I had five cavities and needed to have them filled. I almost had the work done, but her uncomfortable business practices made me get up and leave. I went to another dentist instead that came highly recommended. He saw one small cavity. He even used a laser that measures your tooth enamel. He said he sees this frequently. Having used car sales is one thing, but performing unnecessary work on someone is an assault.
Original Review — I was not impressed with this dentist or her office staff. I came to this office as a new patient and I will not be going back. I needed to get additional work done and instead of just talking to me they lead you to some little room and leave you waiting for the finance person. The finance person gave me more run around and non-​straight answers than financing the car at a car dealership. None of her numbers were actually correct and when I asked for correct numbers, she provided a second set of numbers that were still not correct. They tried to make me leave a credit card on file even though I have dental insurance. I eventually got so frustrated that I told them to cancel my appointment and got up and left.

I went in as a new patient and unfortunately, the first impression was not a good one. The receptionists were somewhat off putting… I can’t put my finger on it, but when I walked in, I felt like I was intruding on something. I think the one that got me started on paperwork was Melissa, she was prickly. Anyway, I was called right at my appointment time by a dental assistant. She didn’t seem thrilled to be there and she too was not exactly friendly. She did a scan of my entire jaw and took 5 X-​rays so I feel pretty well irradiated now. The cleaning was done by a temp hygienist, who was actually a stark contrast in friendliness. She was pleasant and very nice. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced better cleaning at other places… perhaps she’ll get better with experience. Dr. Steele was also quite pleasant and I liked her personality, but I did feel that she maybe a little inexperienced and tentative. My fluoride treatment was done by the not-​so-​thrilled dental assistant who irradiated me earlier. Her fluoride application job was clunky and careless at best. She got fluoride all over my lips inside and out, sprayed water on my face as she tried to rinse. It would have been really helpful if she explained what the treatment would feel and taste like and whether it was ok to swallow some or not. Anyway, I am not sure if it’s normal or not, but by the time she walked out, I felt gummy stuff all over my teeth and inside of my lips. I rushed home to do something about that and saw cement like gunk on teeth and lips that I brushed off. Again, not sure if I was supposed to brush them off or not, but I sure wan’t gonna walk around looking like I had giant stickty food stuck all over my teeth. Before I left, Melissa the prickly receptionist sat down with me to go over the treatment plan and price listing. She went through the paperwork in a matter-​of-​fact and succint manner. I did like the price listing — very nice and helpful. Now, I know that I shouldn’t be so hung up on personalities and friendliness, but to me, they matter… if that makes me shallow, so be it. Having experienced a good dental practice and knowing how good cleaning and consultation are done, I will most likely not return here and take my treatments elsewhere… The overall appearance of the dental office was modern and clean looking. By far, Kate Steele of Steele Dentistry in Stapleton is the best dentist I have ever been to. If you are like me, you are a bit scared when it comes to having your teeth worked on. I have been to several dentists around Denver, including the chain Comfort Dental, and a few others. I’ve always put off going to the dentist until the last possible minute. It’s always been a scary experience for me, and I have never left an office feeling great. I’m a pretty laid back person, so I never left an office feeling upset either. But I had no idea how great a dentist could be until I went to Steele Dentistry!
When I went to Steele Dentistry, it was a whole new experience. The Doctor, Kate Steele, was extremely kind and gentle. I was feeling tooth pain and it turned out that I had a HUGE cavity that needed to be removed ASAP before a root canal was necessary. I was a bit scared, but the tooth pain I was feeling was overwhelming and I needed help. When I received the anesthesia shot, I didn’t even feel it. I was more scared about that than anything. Dr. Steele said, «You’ll feel some pressure now» or something like that, but honestly, I hardly felt a thing… except for relief. The scariest part was over. She was drilling away, and I kept thinking, «Is this it? Where’s all the pain?» I was a bit shocked at how simple the whole procedure was. Dr. Steele not only made me feel comfortable before the treatment, but the actual process was quick and painless as well. The hardest part was just keeping my mouth open… everything else was painless. Dr. Steele and her assistants told me exactly what they were doing, when they were doing it. I felt like I knew what was going on the whole time, which really helped my anxiety.
All of the staff at Steele Dentistry was so nice and attentive. I had to make my appointment super quickly because I was feeling a lot of pain, and they got me in right away. Everyone there made me feel welcome from the first minute. The office itself is really nice. I feel more like I’m at a coffee shop than a dentist’s office. It does not have that stagnant ‘hospital’ feel that other dentist offices have. With big, bright windows and comfy chairs, I actually felt myself relaxing in lieu of feeling anxiety.
Don’t go to a chain like Comfort Dental, where you are treated like just another number among many… go to Steele Dentistry where you are treated like a person.
Now, for the first time in my life, I feel excited about keeping my teeth in good condition. When I went back, I was greeted by name and I felt a personal connection to the staff.
I plan on receiving regular check ups, and brushing and flossing as instructed. I’m motivated, thanks to Dr. Steele, and confident that I will receive the best possible care if something else should go wrong in the future.
Do not hesitate to book your appointment with Steele Dentistry. You will be treated well, you will be educated, your pain will go away if you are feeling pain, and you will leave feeling confident and happy. Steele Dentistry is everything I had no idea I was looking for, but am so happy I found. Thank you so much!

I had a crown and 2 fillings put in by Dr. Steele. Instead of testing to see if I needed a root canal prior to inserting the crown, she just assured me since I was in no discomfort that I did not need a root canal.
When I complained that my tooth was hurting a month later, she told me to come in and proceeded to give me recommendation to go see an endodontist. She charged me $ 47 for that visit, to tell me that she had no idea what the issue was.
I indeed needed a root canal. This meant additional expense of having to have a filling in the tooth after the root canal, which I had done elsewhere, not to mention the aggravation of several unnecessary trips around the city, and 2 months of not being able to chew on one side of my mouth!
Further, despite being seen by a dentist only 8 months earlier and receiving a clean bill of health, Dr. Steele insisted that I had 2 cavities under older fillings which needed immediate attention. I had not had a cavity in over 17 years. I let her fill them but I have to wonder…
I question Dr. Steele’s judgement as well as her ethics.

Dr. Steele and her staff are excellent at what they do! I would recommend Steele Dentistry to anyone I know.

Some people will say they hate the dentist. I can tell you that I am a dentist-​o-​phobe — cold sweats, nausea, the works. I was dreading my cleaning and my subsequent cavity filling and I am here to report that, not only was it not a terrible experience, it was rather pleasant. Everything is super clean, shiny, and modern. The people who work here are so friendly and nice and Dr. Steele was amazing. No pain at all and they didn’t even shame me for my dental fear, like some dentists have. Cavity filling was painless and over before I knew it. I wish I had found this place years ago because it might be the beginning of my getting over the fear. Highly recommended.
